  1. Has anyone heard of the update with Jared Troutman? (transfer QB from Fulton) I know I can get no information from Tillman. Last I talked to Graham he said Jared was at AE. He would say his status on the team. they say "we'll have to see." Pleasr AEroadrunner fill me in .
  2. From what I hear out of Oak Ridge, they say AE are adjusting well. They had a couple of good days of spring practice and the kids are doing as expected. My source talked to Stevens. From what he said Stevens said G will make sure everything is running smooth. He say if Coach G had his teaching certification they would have already had their coach. I know that he has applied somewhere to get his certification. But he had planned this before Stevens ever left. He wants to be a teacher whether he coaches are not. I don't know if he wants to be the head coach though. He loved his role with Stevens. He had a hand in everything. Offense, Defense, Special Team. When he had the time he would coordinate the defense but due to his job and family crises he could not. Of course he and tillman and stein are my boys. So I want the best for them. But I don't know if he really wanted to be a head coach.
  3. When and Where do they scrimmage!
  4. I was told long time ago from Stevens that Gaddis would have been a good coach at AE. I found out that Gaddis (italian) was born in the inner city in New York, but his mom moved him to memphis when he was a kid and they lived in the inner city. I think they later moved to Jackson. But I understand that Gaddis grew up in the inner city. I did not know him but I know that he keeps in touch with coach G who played for him at OR. I don't know if stevens played for him but I do know he coached for him at OR. I think he came in the year after stevens left. I remember Gaddis first year, we didn't play them but me and Central star RB Leon Kirkland talked about playing for them. Leon liked their uniforms (Redskins). That 88 OR team put you in the mind of FSU and Miami, they were fast, tough and arrogant. Gaddis would fit at AE.
  5. Just a bit of warning for you guys that don't know. AE/Fulton are pretty even. Fulton just won the game that counted. Both of them was in the last seconds.
  6. It's a shame that AE game of the year is against Scott County. Please whoever the coach is don't change the schedule of this game to a Thursday night game on Wednesday. Play them Friday night. Some of you guys who played freshman ball (shouldbe juniors this year) Didn't Ae beat you guys by 56-0. Your QB (was tough kid) got his shoulder broken. Now I know people change and teams change. Being that AE freshmen program then was not were it needed to be, I think you better be careful about wanting the Roadrunners. In 2003 there D coordinator (Coach G) was at work and didn't show to halftime. Being that he gives Stevens a lot of in sight on offense too, it helped when he got there and they made half time adjustment. Once again last year a couple of coaches were late to the game becasue they made prearranged plans for Thursday night. I promise this year AE will be focus against Scott County. Best game AE-Fulton wk 1.
  7. How did the show go. How is stevens doing. I haven't had a chance to talk to him recently. I see Graham is still at AE, along with Tillman. He didn't take any of his homeboys back with him? I am surprise.
  8. That rumor is wrong. My nephew told me that coach Graham said he will be there (AE) next year. Coach Graham had always said that he would not coach at Oak Ridge. He wants to be remembered there as a player not a coach. Also that if he went to Oak Ridge he would have to re-prove himself as a coach they wouldn't go on his record both as a player and a coach. Plus from this past fiasco Graham point is proven. I doubt coach T (Martin) will go or Coach Walker.
  9. AE players and coaches are very upset about the way things went down. First of all if the principal Of OR was going to make the ultimate decision and his decision the whole time was Stevens he could have saved 4 weeks. Second neither the players or the coaches have heard anything from Stevens since Wednsday. Not even his boys Graham or Tillman. The AD at AE told one of the coaches that Stevens would be there to address the team yesterday but he never showed. This coach called Graham at work. I heard that coach Stockdale was there and many other coaches and they continued with work outs. Coach Graham eventually showed up and addressed the team about what was going on. And from what I hear he really didn't know but explained to them to be flexible, be understanding and be committed. That they will continue on the path they were going. Graham said to me last night that many of these kids are use to adversity and adjusting. So he is not worried about that. He just hopes the administration makes the right moves to continue with the consistency of the program. These kids with Stevens were very very used to a structured program.
  10. Well I hope AE can rebound from losign coach stevens. As long as Graham is there they should be able to follow the same course. A Fulton what is going on with Young. I wish the best for him. When I met him he seems to be a good kid. I hope he can get over this hurdle and finish his prep career. Maybe he will go to Oak Ridge. I can see the rumors starting. Who will play QB for the falcons next year. Good Luck. AE roadrunner don't pay attention to Scott County. We play them every year on a Thursday nght game that scheduled at the last moment. No fans no enthusiasm and no effort until the game is in doubt. You give any team a thought they can compete they will until the better team wakes up usually wins. But if you blow smoke over coals a fire will eventually start. Then again some teams just match up better with others. I don't know how AE prepares for Scott but they usually don't look as though they are ready to play. A couple of years ago it was Gibbs.

    Oak Ridge

Good point. I just hate that our program and kids are put in a bad situation.

U.T. basketball 2 weeks and ORHS football 2 months. I understand the importance of making the right decisions. But sometime you can get to democratic.
  13. Ha Ha... This year Scott the game will not be changed to a Thursday night. AE will respect you. They will come out and play this year. Their crowd will be there. You don't know what youare asking for. AE program is all about respect this year.

    Oak Ridge

Oak Ridge is once again showing it's arrogance. They without a doubt are a great program and tradition. But it is taking them almost 2 months to select a coach. AE now will have to hurry to find a coach by next season. Not very respectful. Also msot of the coaches will have already have accepted jobs by now. This is ridiculous. The good thing is Coach Graham a former Oak Ridge standout is not leaving. He gave me his word on that. He will not go back to Oak Ridge. Therefore he can manage the ship until an appropriate coach is named. But the kids will have to adjust and there is no way to know if the new coach will bring his on staff and get rid of a lot of the coaches at AE including Graham. It seems to me that the logical 2 choices from the beginning are now being called back. You could have saved a lot of time by naming these two two weeks after applications were submitted. It seems to me like the AD is doing everything he can not to hire either one of them. Good luck!

If I'm not mistaken didn't Anderson County (3A) beat Oak Ridge (5A) a couple of years ago?
  16. Oh yea hitman about thinking AE can beat Red Bank. Of course they do. They think they can beat everyone they play. These kids have played in big time atmosphere so that doesn't fear them. They have competed at the top level against top teams. Remember this staff have coached against the nations best. They know about pace of a game. I don't know much about Red Bank but I do know that AE will be prepared. At AE their coaching staff doesn't allow them to do a lot of lip smacking. (very discipline group). Don't stereotype this program with that of Brainard and Howard (no disrespect). Totally different. AE has a motto when people start talking about who will beat who. Gene Beck of TSSAA has agreed "One thing about it the game will be played"! That is the way their players think!
  17. 1. AE scrimmages the top teams in the area every year. (Maryville, Central, Alcoa) 2. 2001 State Champions. 3. Ranked #1 in state 2 years in row. 4. Finish undefeated regular season 2 years in a row in the toughest region in 3A football. 5. In 2001 played the #4 ranked team in the country. Don't talk about scheduling. Leadership? The have sent an average of 6 players to school on scholarship in the past 6 years. They have a 90% graduation rate, over 30 former players are currently in college, 6 have graduated and 4 are in grad school. A number of their players have served in Middle East and currently serving in the military. (in past 6 years since this staff has been there). This is coming from a school that doesn't have a lot of community and financial support. We play Brainard and Howard every year and beat both of them by 40 points or more. No disrespect to those once great programs but no comparison in the 3 programs. You will be very impressed when you see them. Ask your coach about their coaching staff, players and program. They are one of the premiere programs in Tennessee. Don't forget who is the lead blocker for former RB running back Riggs!!!!

Please you two settle down. Who is DS and GL? And what do they have to do with the new season. Never mind I just found out Strick and Lee, is the names I've been told. Still don't know who they are but from my understanding these kids were very talented but had a lot of off the field issues. I do agree with breaker in some ways. A "COACH" job is to be able to assist these kids maturity and help trouble kids become men. I do understand that you don't want cancers but there are ways. I see it at AE and Fulton all the time. I must say Stevens does a good job with trouble kids. The kids can relate to the coaches and vica versa. The coach has ways to approach the kid and more importantly his family. AE coaches eat holiday dinners with some of their kids parents. The kids come over to the coaches houses to hang out. You will see a lot players with coach Tillman, Rice, Graham, Petit and more improtantly Stevens out in the community. The good thing is you also see players that have graduated with them also. They become these kids male role models. I bet you can ask any former AE player when was the last time they talked to a coach they will all tell you recently. It would be a surprise to me for Oak Ridge not hire Stevens. He already lives in Oak Ridge. He knows most of the kids families and home situations. He also knows football. The man has average at least 6 college scholarship signees a year. In 6 years he has over 30 kids still in school and 6 which have graduated or about to graduate from college. Several in the military and over a 6 year period over 87% graduation rate. And that is at a school with not a lot of financial or community support. I bet Stevens would have saved DS and GL. thumb
  19. I did see an AE coach yesterday. He would not comment on Stevens departure. He did say that Stockdale said he didn't get the Halls job. He said they had heard the speculations of the OakRidge job. (Bibbee) He also said that Stevens and staff has down played the OakRidge job. They have been preparing for this season. He said Stevens is much more energized than the last couple of years. He is doing a lot more teaching already this year. The staff seems to be a lot more cohesive. I asked him about Red Bank, he said they expect them to be physical and experienced. He said they haven't really talked about them much but they know coach daniels, and he wouldn't have scheduled them if he didn't think they could beat them. AE players and coaches feel they are the most disrespected team in Tennessee. They go undefeated in the regular season two years in a row and gets no love from Media or internet junkies (i.e. Albert Harris). The kids have rallied around the coaches and this year they feel they have to prove themselves!!!!! I will go to work out on Thursday to get a heads up. (if not raining)
  20. Don't get caught up in th emedia and internet hype. Remember AE beat Fulton by 2 touchdowns in the regular season the last two years. Fulton beat AE on the last play of the game both years. Fulton program has won the one that counted. That's it. I doubt they would beat AE in the best of 3-5-or 7. But football its all about the playoffs. AE has its entire line returning. They also go ttransfer (Fulton) Jared Troutman back home. He had to go to Fulton due to family situation. Also remember Fulton lost their QB for the year due to some personal reasons I will not disclose on this site. Kingston will be a team to reckon with in this region and AC always well coached. LA from what I know has a good program so they are used to winning. If they are able to do well early they will contend. The speed in this region will be a lot different. And also the pace of the games when you play Fulton and AE an probably catholic.
  21. I am pretty sure if Stockdale doesn't get the Halls job, Stevens will take him to Oak Ridge with him if he gets the Oak Ridge job. Who will coach the Roadrunners. AE do you have any answers. All my sources are tight lipped.
  22. As of right now there is a lot of questions to be answered at AE. Will Stevens be there?; Will Stockdale be there? Will Graham go with Stevens back to Oak Ridge? If Stevens leaves who will become the head coach at AE? If everything stays the same AE will be very good this year. They return their offensive line this year. With transfer QB (Jared Troutman from Fulton) and departure of Albert Harris look for them to put the ball in air little more this year (2001 state championship team.) They should have much more weapons offensively this year. Maurice Davis is a speedster, Anthony Anderson is a big time WR, Tre Smith is quick as a cat. Their offense should be much more potent than last year's. Defensively they will have to rebuild the middle. They lost 2 all-state DT and Mr. Football at Mike linebacker spot. There DEs OLB's and Secondary are all returning. They should have a lot more depth this year than last. You already now their fast, well coach and has pretty good size. I question the mental and physical toughness of this team. But the biggest concern is LEADERSHIP!!! With McAllister, Harris and Minnifield gone who will step up and take the lead. Those guys were good at that.
  23. Maurice Davis Austin East; Albert Harris Austin East; Anthony Anderson Austin East; Tre Smith Austin East.
  24. This all region B-ball team would be a heck of football team. Good luck AE. Great job Alcoa and Fulton this year once again.
