  1. Another Friday night and another chance for a win. The best thing I get from this team is every Friday they feel like they can win. It will come and I hope soon. You guys need to do the little things. Make sure you "HIT SOMEBODY" every play. If you're not sure who to get, hit the first man in front of ya and try to stay on him at least for a 3 count. Some of the best blocking so far has come from the ends and receivers. The meat of the line will make the difference. STEP UP. The backs need to make the first man miss and block when you don't have the ball. If it's a pass play and it breaks down, the QB has to get outside the tackles and throw the ball away. Throw it into the sidelines past the line of scrimmage. Maybe even put the bigger QB in at times, sprint him out on the corners to throw and if it's not open let him turn it up and run over some people. I guess I'm just another Monday morning QB but I'll put my two cents in on Thursday night. If the line needs help blocking put a running back, a receiver, a linebacker, a man out of the secondary, somebody that wants to "HIT SOMEBODY" in the game on the line. You guys need to hit somebody on every play and stay on your blocks. It will not get any better till you do. Ain't you sick of hearing me spew this ****? Take pride, step up and knock somebody on their ***. I have seen you do it before, DO IT NOW. Sometimes kids need someone to rattle their cage. I hope after reading this you are mad and want to prove something. IS IT IN YA?
  2. Your right Eagle, It can be done. We just need to start a run.
  3. What's up with the line play, the O Let's take the best kids and put them on the line. If they are not going to be used in the offense,, let'em block. SOMEBODY's gotta block. We have many young men that just want to get on the field, Let'em play. I guess I'm the only one seeing this. 13 points by the offense in 4 games is not going to get it done. Put the best kids on the field, Let'em play. Still can't say enough about the Defense. They did seem to play on their heels this week, But they have been the ones keeping us in every game. Good job coach, They love ya. And I like what you have brought to the program. You make me think of Darrell Watson when he was the stopper at Church Hill. He was a players coach and we all just wanted to hear him say" Good Job"
  4. Yes, good luck Falcons. You've looked better each week. Can't say enough about the defense, Shut'em down men. This Friday we start the run. I can see it in you. What ever we have to do in the red zone we MUST get it done. Play the red zone like a bunch of crazed dogs, Knock somebody on their back or at least keep them off the play if you don't have the ball,, if you have the ball hang on and make the first man miss. I know you guys want a win more then anybody. Tonight's the night. Coach Hooks will have his team as ready as he can get'em. It will be a fight and you know that's what you live for,,,the fight. Give it all ya got,, That's all you can do. Make sure you please yourself. Win or lose you can be proud.
  5. I wonder what kind of man you are. Stand up to folks and tell them how you feel. Please stay on the visitor's side.
  6. Freshmen play at home Thursday at 6:30, Then we travel to Morristown to play East Friday, stopping at Ryan's, off of 25E to eat before the game at 5:30. Defense looked better giving up only two big plays that were the difference. If we could stay on our blocks for 3 or 4 sec. I think it would help, easier said then done. I know everyone is trying and we are still improving. Maybe this week we will get over the hump. Good luck Falcons
  7. I also saw Forest,, the same day I saw Shawshank, In the bed sick. Two of the best. It will be a battle for The Indians but OR may be dreaming. First of two good games between DB and OR this year. GO TRIBE
  8. Blue&Orange, good post. I've not been here much this year but I also have faith in the Players, coaches, and the Touchdown Club that will allways be Falcon blue. We will not win'em all. I can say that I have seen improvement week by week and that pleases me. I truly believe by seasons end we will be a better club. That will just make it easier for the next group and give them something to build on. As to the trash that blows in on the Volunteer thread,,, Thats what it is. We don't knock down any other clubs, It's a fight every week for us and it's the fight that we live for. We always believe we have a chance. 37 seconds left in the half with Morristown West, 14-6,,,We had a chance and our club put us there. M.W. is a top club in East Tennessee. Some healthy high school kids on their team, and a bunch of'em The reason for the low numbers on the Volunteer thread is because most of the trash from outside doesn't have Coach V to kick around, and mark it down,, they are just waiting. It is nice to be noticed. Falcons16 East 14
  9. Good luck Falcons. Give your best effort and never give up. They just put 11 on the field at a time.
  10. The Hawkins County Chiefs defeat Rutledge 23-6 at Rutledge. The Kingsport Indians score 31 at Betsy 31-6. Sullivan South win 42-12 over Happy Valley. Science Hill jumps on Sullivan Central 46-0. Sullivan East loses 18-7 to Cloudland. Week 0 winners The Hawkins County Chiefs. The Kingsport Indians, and The Rebels of Sullivan South. What's your picks for WEEK 1?
  11. Come on,,, Pick some.
  12. It's at Volunteer Wendnesday with South Greene at 5:30.
  13. July 30th roadblock in Church Hill, August 5th scrimmage, August 6th car wash at gas-n-go Food City, August 10th scrimmage, Meet the Falcons August 23rd, and first game August 26th at Sullivan North. Touchdown club meets every Tuesday at 6:00 in the Holston Electric Bldg. in Church Hill
  14. Big day at Volunteer Sat. Come on down about 8:00am and help the Touchdown club Put some bright new colors in the fieldhouse. Where's waco? we could use that big chiller I've heard about for years. Bring jacko, we'll turn him loose and let him pick. See ya Sat.
  15. You got'em going D&DD , good job. It's RIDER with an i vet! You say you hope things will change. Yeah I can hear it in your tone, you're a real Falcon backer. We need more folks like you like we need the flu. You call yourself an ex-Panther? Coach taught us better then that, I don't think you got it, or you never had it! I'll talk your crap with ya but as far as the team, If I can't say something good I keep my mouth shut. Try it, I know I'll like it. It's a new year, you gotta start some where. Give'em a chance. -
  16. Not being smart, but I believe it's spelled with an i, "Rider". Thanks for all the well wishes. I do not think any losses will come to this team because they are out of shape. From what I've seen Coach Rider and Coach Hastings demand discipline and have earned the respect of the team. Win or lose they will build good men.
  17. Scott Rider's crew as of now looks like: Jason Skelton Jim Hastings Will Cordell Brad Stubbs Chad Laster Keven Porter Maybe one or two more. Yes we are excited, myself I like the team attitude strong discipline brings.
  18. What's the call on the Johnson County game? As soon as someone knows, please post.
  19. Good job Yesterday men. You're right Pete, Chemistry,,, I believe that will be the key. The banter from the dugout and the guys picking each other up will be major. Good luck Falcons
  20. Congratulations men, come home safe.
