  1. What's up this week 96? Lots of us depend you you for info on the upcoming week.
  2. Tricitiessports.com is not just high school sports. Check it out, you'll go back.
  3. Keep working hard Falcons. This will be the year that you get better every time out. I know it's early but I liked seeing all the different players in the jamboree, everybody gets a chance and that makes'em all want to step up. Chhs, when I can go through Goshen to get anywhere, I take it, I love the drive. VHS, come on down and check'em out. I'm not even sure if all of last years starters are starting this year. SatchUmp, I wish every man in the school went out, but how many does it take? We want kids with heart that are coachable. We have some of the best young players on the team ever. Volunteer has some great freshmen athletes that will make a difference and we have a full squad.
  4. My mistake devil fan. I knew we were going to Greeneville for a scrimmage, I thought you were a West fan. We went to West Green. So I will get my drive down Goshen Friday night. I know you guys will be ready, good program. I'm a Falcon fan so You know where that leads me. The way I see it we are undefeated. My glass is always half full. So good health to yours and ours. It should be a good night in Morristown. I do want to give out a shout to the Falcons for the effort at West Green. Our leader showed pose, our go to guy was there, the line play on both sides was effective, the backers filled it up, and some folks stepped up. We had a goal line stand, + on the turnovers, and a few big plays. All that on a wet field. Play calling was good and the defense is gonna dish out some pain. I feel good because I know we will get better each week. I think at the time the first team came out it was three-zip, Volunteer. So we'll see ya at the jamboree.
  5. What is the start time? Will it be held on your Friday night field, or a practice field somewhere else? Looking forward to that lovely drive down through Goshen. Good luck Falcons!
  6. Good luck to your team also Big Daddy. Dang, it's almost here, Football! I love it and Friday nights still have an effect on me. I always get the feeling something great is going to happen. The offer still stands for you ,your date, mate, or associate to join us for some brats. We cooked'em up during baseball season and the "Y" guys made us famous. In my mind we have the best down to earth fans around, I know it's a small mind, but it's all mine. We go to West Greene Thursday afternoon. Good luck Birds!
  7. Skunk, I don't go much at all now. I miss the old days on the third base line at the J. Fred. Them was the days, kids were young and 300 people was large crowd and we all knew each other. When the Mets moved to Wright Field they started with almost 1000 folks a game. I think you and the misses ran a class act. Kingsport Braves and Mets have had some of the top athletes of their time. I can remember a young Ben Allen called me the night I won, I had left early. I had the good luck of coaching young Ben in little league and played against his dad in highschool football, G. and K. another class act. I remember Alcoa had one of the softest fields I had ever played on. Back to the here and now, I like our chances and the numbers are strong enough for lots of competition for playing time. The Line play will make or break us. I think games are won in the trenches and I think we have a line that will rise to the occasion. The key positions have experienced and skilled men in place. It may be the best year in Volunteer history. We tail-gate at all games, home and away, feel free to bring the misse and do a little face feeding. Look for the Touchdown banner. You may even get an autograph from our press corps, The "Y" guys. We try to keep them fed also. Good luck to yours and The Tribe. Keep it in East Tennessee
  8. I could never turn on another team-mate and I know there was no malice intented. I was on the Mesa yesterday and dang,, it sure looks good. We've been working around the football field and could use the help. We will work the Sat. before the first game and try to bring it up to par. You keep up the good work d and thank you too skunk. You may not remember skunk, but a few years ago we met for the first time as you set me up with an all expense paid trip to see the Mets play in NY. I can't recall the year, it may have been the first year after moving to Wright Field. Remember?
  9. Let the skunk speak, and thats skunk with a U! He states the facts. You're welcome here any time, just ask wacko. Did ya notice they spelled skunk with a capital S? That's respect. Some times them guys thinks theys Famous Amos. They do usually have a good line, sometimes they just jerk it to fast and lose the fish. Come on down and see us some time.
  10. Being an aries I sometimes blow my own horn. I'll have to travel with my Volunteer Falcons and I can tell you we bring it. The grill, the fans, and the large time with friends. We love to tailgate and we're always early. If ya ever see the cooker smoking come on by, We are all fans, just hello the fire and come on in. Look for the Touchdown Club banner. Go get'em Birds
  11. Hey 96, if you can find out for sure on the Betsy and Volunteer scrimmage today, try and get a time also. Thanks for keeping us up to date. Good luck!
  12. Thursday Aug. 26 at 5:00 we will "Feast with the Falcons." Come hungry and let the Touchdown club do the cooking, $5.00 a plate. I think the freshmen have a home game at 6:00.
  13. Thanks for the updates on the practice with Central. I was looking forward to the results of the TN. High Practice. TSSAA waited till Thursday, to even have their rules meeting. What do they expect? Let's play some football!
  14. Good to have the help here VolFalcon. 96 has been pulling the load. I'm not sure how many are out but the ones there want to knock someone down, run over somebody, beat someone on a route, or just flat pancake the man in front of them. I'm about to get worked up, I hope everybody else is too. Hit somebody!
  15. Thanks for the info 96. I'm looking forward to seeing just what you guys can do this year. We missed ya at the BBQ Sat. Somebody said you had a game, always on the field. Keep it up!
  16. Wacko may be there with the chiller, we might even get to see JaCo the singing mule. Don't miss it!
  17. Where's the chiller going to be Sat. wacko?
  18. Work day at the field Sat. morning. Bring the chiller down about noon wacko. Come one come all,, starting at 8:00 am.
  19. I hope Mr Williams gets another chance to play for coach Clark. I think it should be up to the coaches and players, period. I'll just wait and see how things go. I was at the DB OR game this passed winter. Talking with an old DB'er Who was my coach and we were both impressed with some of the big catches made in the game. What I'm saying is DB wil not live or die with the Williams saga, I just think everybody should get a second chance. What he does with it will be up to him. I also agree, wacko is the bomb on coacht. He sometimes comes across with that washing machine effect. We sure could use the "Big Chiller" Sat. about noon wacko! We'll be on the field. Come on down. I've read the words of the skunk and he's usually straight up too. That's skunk with a u.
  20. Well 96 I do know we start 2-a-days the 2nd of Aug. The BBQ at the park for players and TD club members will be Sat. the31st. I think we get West Greene at their place Aug. 13 and meet the Falcons Aug. 26. Things always change some but that's for now. Don't worry too much about Wacko being upset he doesn't seem like the type to hold a grudge. We sure could use his big chiller on the weekends. Big Daddy, good to see you in for a visit. I see the East thread picking up steam. We all are true to our colors and will be, always. Good luck.
  21. What? Where were you Wacko? All the hard work put into the field Sat. and your talk of the master chiller you drive and you again were a NO SHOW. Are you all talk and no walk? We needed you and where was Wacko??? Only coacht knows where Wacko goes. Step up my man, we could use ya.
  22. I can't quote you the records, But My vote goes to Coach J.W. Salley, 60's and 70's of Church Hill. J.W. Salley calling the plays along with Darrell Watson calling the Defense was a players dream team. We loved our coaches and teamwork was what worked for us. They will always be the second Dad to every man they put in pads. When you came on the field they had you ready and it was up to you to get it done. Thanks Coaches
  23. Keep the faith 96, it's men like you that make team work mean something. You are going to have to step in and lead this team with the help of your senior buds and You'all can do it! I've seen you play for the home team in many sports along with this senior group all your life. You and this team can go where no Volunteer Falcon has ever been,, I know you will. This bunch of seniors will make teamwork mean something. The younger guys see you men as leaders and team players, not just stat makers, anything for the win,, and that's what going make it happen. Good luck Falcons, and the TD club will be working on the field Sat. June 12th @ 8:00am till noon come by if you can. And I thank you.
  24. It does seem to go through West or Greeneville and last year East was competative. It just depends on the talent for that year. I love the underdog and I'm a Falcon fan first. So I'll be pulling for them Birds.
