    Region 4 Pickem

Back to the top. I'll be listening for my guys, I know you guys can do it. Go Blackman! I'm not going to participate in the pickem this year, I came in second last year and that's enough. I'll just have fun watching you guys spar over it all. -JC
  2. Absolutely, sometimes the only thing to get them to work is fear.
  3. Let me just open by saying I very seldom post on the baseball forum, in fact, I don't think I ever have. This situation has warranted my attention however. . . I played for Coach Green for two years when he was a football coach. I learned more from him than I did from Strickland, Alsup, and Watson put together. He teaches, he jokes around with you about it, and you do get better under him. And heaven forbit folks, he does get upset off, and he does yell sometimes, but Alsup has done worse before and nothing has happened to him. The suspension is, quite frankly, ridiculous. Dr. Nixon and Gill are allowing a parents frustration drive their attention, and that is just sad. Never mind that Blackman is the only school in the county that is required to wear ID badges, I'm not happy with that, maybe I should call Gill. . .I'm sure Nixon would like to be suspended for violating our consitutional right to privacy by putting our social security numbers in binary on the front of them. . .Never mind that all you have to do is drop it somewhere, and someone, anyone can go to a scanner, scan your social, and get credit cards with it, screw up what credit you do have. Like I said, I'm not happy with that, I'm going to call Gill. But in the real world, you dont' go running to Daddy every time something doesn't go your way, you live, you adapt, and you allow it to make you a better person, or in the Blackman baseball team's situation, a better player. But no, a bunch of spoiled little people who would like to call themselves a team cried because coach finally got mad at them for not living up to their potential. He yelled, he grabbed a guy by the shirt--Every coach has grabbed a kid before in some fit of anger, this is nothing new. Doesn't make it right mind you, but it just means that by allowing it to go on everywhere else, Gill is being a hypocrite. Coach Green, you're better than this. Go to another school system, the adminstration, school board members, parents, and especially players, don't deserve to have you coach for them. Let them be coached by someone who will always sime and say ok, who will always be nice and never win anything. You have a championship to win eventually. I just hope it isn't here. Good luck everyone, and that is all I have to say on teh subject.
  4. I'm back! How y'all doing? And I'm not broke thankyou very much. . .. Let's talk football folks, I've been inactive long enough. -JC
  5. I'm all for the campaign, but I think that the success of a "reading program" are kind of overstated. Most threads written by teenagers have incorrect grammar, spelling, punctuation, etc. . . Most deal with some form of bashing another team, which is all fun and good, but when the only posts that a member posts are bashing posts, a serious lack of writing ability is displayed. My point is that the merits of a reading program are overshadowed if the things that people are reading are derogatory, inflammatory, or just plain classless. Good job CoachT nonetheless. It takes a very well organized man to organize and run something as large as CoachT.com. -JohnC
  6. Back to the top. Still waiting Eric. . . -JohnC
  7. So far as I have heard, from players and administrator's at my school, Alsup may not be retiring after all. I guess I can't blame him. Blackman has some talent coming up for the next few years, so Region 4 is going to be very hot next year. As to the Lebanon thing, no, not that I know of. Oakland2001, where's the new pickem? -JohnC
  8. Well it does to other people. Don't get down on yourself. . .They played very well in a very hard season. . . -JOhnC
  9. Not to many people picked this week, that's sure to kill the standings for some. -JohnC
  10. Your team cheated Shady. . . -JohnC
  11. Lincoln County over Oakland Riverdale over Cookeville Smyrna over Coffee Co. Lebanon over Franklin Co. Brentwood over Glencliff Franklin over Hunters Lane Dickson County over Hendersonville Centennial over Antioch Bonus Games: CPA over Collinwood McCallie over MUS I didn't give a commentary on each game b/c I didn't have the time. Sorry guys. -JohnC
  12. I will post a post later tonight for the seniors of the Blaze football team. They played with heart this year, and I'm proud of them. As for Alsup, I am pretty sure that yesterday was his last at the Inferno. When I know for sure I will let everyone know. -JohnC
  13. To Oakland fans, you know I'm with you and everything, but I do not believe you can pull this off. Will you score? Absolutely, you've got some darn good players. Will you give them a fight? I think so. But will you win it? With that I do not think so. I think Lincoln County simply has too many weapons on both sides of the ball, as well as the depth to go well into Saturday morning. I see Lincoln County winning by a hefty margin, between 14 and 28 points. Region4Fan, I am sorry about your friend. You'll be in my prayers tonight. God bless and keep you safe on your trip to Georgia and back. -JohnC
  14. All righty, just got off the phone with a friend of mine in Johnson City, so I can make my predictions for this week. I slipped up last week. . .I hope that doesn't happen again. Smyrna pulls it over Oakland. Sorry Eric, but this is just how I think it'll be. Riverdale steamrolls a Wolverine squad that was embarressed by Blackman last week. Blackman, coming off a win, will not let their seniors be disapointed on Senior Night. Blackman over Wilson Central. Lebanon over Siegel. Dickson County over Franklin. MBA over BA And, in an upset, the Hilltoppers bring out some new weapons against the DB squad, and pull away with the win. -JohnC
  15. I am still tied at number 3! Oakland pulls out their arsenal against a weak Siegel team. Smyrna over Lebanon in a very close, hard hitting game. Riverdale proves too much for a Wilson Central team that has turned heads this year. Blackman falls yet again, as this rather long year winds down. Dickson over Brentwood. Maryville close over Knox Central. CPA over DCA. -JohnC
  16. A team suffering from injury, disunion, and heartbreak falls hard on CSS, Riverdale over Blackman. Oakland close over Lebanon Smyrna lets the dogs loose on poor ol' Siegel, and drags them down hard. LaVergne, who has shown streaks of brilliance, pulls away from a weaker Wilson Central team. Battle of two weak teams, Cookeville over Cumberland Co. Crocket over Jackson. -JohnC

    to Slim 589

Oakland2001 has heard what I have to say. There is absolutely no team unity at all. A team that does not play as a team will never win. And the fact that coach's are telling them that they don't deserve to win, does not help matters. Is a coach not supposed to motivate his team? Until there is adequate coaching, from all the coach's, not just Alsup, they will not win. Until the team comes together, they will not win. -JohnC
  18. Pretty tough for the pickem standing also. . . -JohnC
  19. I am still number 3! Let me just say thanks to Region and Oakland2001 for the support. . . -JohnC
  20. I'm sorry, I've missed something. What did Alsup say in the DNJ yesterday, I haven't been able to find a paper from yesterday anywhere, and the web site certainly isn't yeilding me anything. -JohnC

    SIEGEL

Now that is embarressing. . . -JohnC
  22. I think neither. The team is young, and a young team will make mistakes. I don't know how many long yardage, or even scoring plays were called back last night because of holding, or spearing, or unsportsmanlike conduct. . . It was just a game filled with mistakes. -JohnC
  23. Well, this is it. I'm off to Blackman. -JohnC
