Well I did play ball for 11 years....however Polesit it is not work, your absolutely right this is a child and a school administrator. I have no problem with a coach yelling and whatever else he thinks will motivate his team, but when a kid gets injured from it ,someone is responsible. You have got to be the parent that gets fired up in the stands and makes a scene. You sir could be the next hockey dad. Road Rage is ok too......right?

Let me ask this. You are at work, your boss has a meeting in the conference room. He is upset and picks up some scissors and throws them, and they happen to hit your face and lay you open. 20 stiches later, what do you do? Drop it? Sue?

SemperFiBlue you would be suprised what kind of social life $20M could buy, he will have friends he never knew he had, and women...my goodness that $$$ will make him big man on campus.....

I support the parents. The kid will live with a scar for life on his face. I think 20M was advised by attorneys because we all know it will be settled far less. You never have someone come back and offer more than what they are being sued for. I do not think the coach had any ill-intent so this should not be a criminal assult type thing, but a negligance thing.....it would be different if he was on the field got tackled and hit his chin on the turf......

I think in all honesty, most will say Living a Christ like lifestyle will have more impact on non-belivers than "bible-thumping". But with that praying when led or needing to pray should not be stopped based on what someone may think about it. The problem in America today is we are all trying to make black and white gray, in the name of "harmony, peace, lawsuit,etc"....We can not continue to ignore God's absolute truths and think we will continue to prosper as a country. Look at the direction we are going, what is on "public" tvs everynight? Don't say Andy Griffith....I think people also take this "tolerence thing way too far" My bible does not tell me to tolerate anything...it tells me to love everyone, but to hate sin. So there must be a difference between loving and tolerating everyones actions. As a father I love my child , however I will not tolerate their rebellious or dangerous ways....Same with God, he loves ALL of us, however that does not mean he accepts all that we do and will not punish us for it...... I also really enjoy people shouting " Seperation of Church and State"...That is a false ideology that does not exist. The goverment can not establish a National Religion is what the Constitution means. We must remember that the founding fathers left Englad over the fact that the King would establish a religion for everyone, based on his beliefs.... So they wanted to make it clear that goverment would not say everyone is to be Baptist, or Methodist or whatever....A few of the "founding fathers" may not have been practicing Christians but the largest amount were. And I have to assume that most of the early Americans were as well, seeing they all fled as families from England to practice their protestant Christian beliefs.....it was not to come to work for Nissan or Bank of America or dare I say it? to play Football..... I know it is easy for people to stand back and point at the Christians who mess up, make mistakes or look like a hypocrite at times.....as one I welcome you to join me on the journey, I will remember that like myself you will not be perfect, you will stumble and sometimes even doubt it is worth it...but I will be glad stand beside you and try to encourage you as you go, just like at times I need..... Well off my soapbox.

Here are things that seperate the big winners from losing programs..... Population at the school, the region they play in, recruiting either by schools or the parents, the education the school provides, the recognition a school gets. All these things can factor into it...A parent may want to send there child to a private for the education or principles they may teach....They may want them to go to a bigtime public that is top in the state each year to give there child a shot to be scouted by college programs, they may want the prestige of a Name on the Jersey......and lets not forget some coaches are better at others......

are you saying that special teams coverage has been instructed to take Thomas out of the game? I thought LC was above that.......

May I suggest people listen to a comedian Brad Stine, here in Nashville that talks about offending people and God in the USA....great stuff. Calmdad, next step would be not to preach or share the gospel in church or with the lost or hurting.....The church is the last place that should ever cave into being polictically correct !!!
