  1. I'm impressed. This is the toughest I've seen 215 in a long time.
  2. Go team! Ninja edit:: I think the score was MTSU 45 - UoA 12 or something Hamm
  3. Man, this is just awesome. How awesome would it be to have an NCAA champion from TN.
  4. haha, sorry man, just misinterpretted.
  5. Probably Ric Bundy, although I've heard of this guy named Cook who's supposedly pretty good.
  6. haha, I prefer my sarcasm over your seemingly complete idiocy. Now that you've finally decided to bring facts rather than just saying that Dunning would kill him I will discuss it with you. Yes, Manson defeated Bundy...Once in 8th grade and once when he was a freshman at the AAU state tournament. If I remember correctly Bundy was pinned in 8th grade but only lost to Manson by a few points at the AAU tournament. Using that logic Bundy should have lost to Coleman in the finals last year because hey, he lost to him in the state tournament the year before. If you think I'm trying to take anything away from Dunning you are sorely mistaking, he's one of the most impressive wrestlers I've seen and believe that he will have an awesome college career. Now you caught me, I have loyalties to Hendersonville . You've let my secret out, shame on you! But believe me, I'm pretty realistic. If Bundy was some hack wrestler that I didn't think would last with Dunning at all I would just leave this thread alone rather than try and build him up to be something he's not. As for maturity...I think your previous posts speak volumes more than I could hope to about your blatant lack of conversational skills (and also seemingly respect for wrestlers besides Dunning). Now, for your overrated statements. o·ver·rate tr.v. o·ver·rat·ed, o·ver·rat·ing, o·ver·rates To overestimate the merits of; rate too highly. Bundy is ranked number one in the state. Would this be an overestimate? I would like to think it isn't seeing as how he's beaten every 125 (private and public) that he's come across this season. Unless that is your complaint I don't see any other reason for thinking that. No one has come on this board bragging about him, he seems to let his championship brackets speak for themselves. So just because people think the Bundy/Dunning match would be close he's overrated? Spare me. So basically in closing attack, I hope you don't think I'm personally attacking you...I'm attacking the laughably feeble excuses you call "arguments" that basically say that you are not impressed with Bundy in a very immature way. Because regardless of what you say, odds are very good that they will both be state champions this year, will you?
  7. Wow, I'm impressed. Oakland has improved quite a bit from when I was in High School. Congrats you guys and keep up the good work!
  8. You're absolutely right! Bundy is too overrated man. I mean, nowadays who doesn't have a state championship in Tennessee? Sure he beat Ortiz, Tinsley and Coleman all in a row last year in the toughest weight class..but he probably got lucky. He's undefeated this year..but that's probably just because it's a weak weight class. He placed at NHSCA nationals...but that's a joke tournament anyways. I mean come on! How is he even the starting wrestler on his team? On a serious note: attack guy...why don't you come back to the discussion when you can converse like a big boy rather than the, "OMG...He sux0rs...Lol rofl bbq!"
  9. Dedicated Wrestler has some good points. But I think the biggest things are #1:Bundy is a junior still, so who knows how good he could get between now and his Junior year. Remember, Whitt still has a year under him. #2:Bundy's losses over the summer only show that he was out seeking the best competition he could find rather than trying to shield his record. Bottom line, they're both great wrestlers. While Whitt's a lot more technically oriented and Bundy's a lot more physcally oriented, they have both made their styles work for them. I honestly do believe it would be an insane match either way.
  10. heh, So Hamm, looks like you've finally seen things my way with Hendersonville's '89 pounder. Was Ryan a breakout tournament for him or what?
  11. I believe that the NHSCA Qualifier isn't a fair reference point. These two have been wrestling each other throughout the summer, so I think it's safe to say that they have a good understanding of each others styles. Now if neither had ever wrestled the other and it was their first match, I'd have to definately give it to Dunning (which is what happened at the NHSCA). But after getting acclimated to how Dunning wrestles I would think that Bundy would either make it a very close match or edge out Dunning. Either way, I think it would be foolish to say it would be a blowout either way. And yes I do agree that Dunning is definately one of the state's best.
  12. haha, interesting thread. This is how I see it: Physically: Whit's a strong guy, but honestly, Bundy is a beast. One look at him and you can tell he's almost all muscle. So I go with Bundy on that one. Technically: Bundy's good, but anyone can tell you that Dunning is one of the smoothest wrestlers TN has seen. Amazing technique. Dunning wins this one hands down. Mentally: Both these guys go into matches expecting to win, both wrestle well in high pressure situations. Definately has to be a tie. Intangibles: I think both Dunning and Bundy have their own strengths in this category. Bundy is one of the best scramblers I've ever seen. He'll keep moving and keep working whatever he can to gain an advantage. While this doesn't help too much in freestyle it has worked very well for him in folkstyle. On the same token Dunning is an extremly smart wrestler. He knows what he wants to do and gets his opponents to react and wrestle how he wants. He just does what he knows will work and goes from there, this is one of the things that makes him such a great wrestler. All in all I can't really give an unbiased prediction. But if you look at history, Bundy and Dunnings matches have gotten closer with each time. I think that it would be a very close match if these two met up. But if I had to go with my gut I'd have to say Bundy by one or two.
  13. No offense meant to Oakland, but they didn't really have anywhere to go but up. Congratulations to them for all the success they seem to be having, I hope it continues!
  14. Any team (except Bradley apparently) is going to have down years eventually regardless of the coaching, the true test is if the Coach can turn what he has into a championship team...I think Coach G along with the other great coaches at Smyrna are making their boys better wrestlers with every practice. So I guess my response is, "no," a change of coaches would probably not be the best idea.
  15. Good point Hamm. I'll tell you, Dedman impresses the heck out of me. Just a little polishing and he'll do extremely well, he's already got the motivation and the aggression on the mat.
  16. Honestly, you guys had Beasely (who didn't come on here talking crap), and currently have plunk...I don't see what more you all have to really brag to this extent about.
  17. Yeah, including both Divisions it has to be Dunning hands down. Just D-1, well I don't know enough about Plunk to make a decision, but from what I hear we could have a great 119 state finals.
  18. Tough choice, but I'm gonna give it to Bundy...though from what I hear this Cook guy is pretty tough too.
  19. Wow, that's quite a change for Rulon.
  20. That sounds like it'd be a great match.
  21. Yeah, I'm going to say Gessler will probably run away with it. Of course, the rest of the guys listed are fantastic wrestlers too.
  22. Has Bundy wrestled this Cook guy before?
