  1. HeavyD in a tank top? A picture of that reminds me of Wal-Mart in the middle of the summer. All those fat girls in blue jean shorts and tank tops. Women wear bra's, heavyD and myself wear bro's. thumb
  2. Congrats to Coach Stephenson and the Lady Rebels on a fantastic season. Good Luck tonight. thumb
  3. Although there is no way you could have replied to a message on this board before (you just joined today), your points are valid. This is an assinine thread. I only made the district tourney, but if the region was half as well run as the district, there was no finer region in the state. thumb
  4. The first one I would barely be able to stomach. The latter............not a chance!! Thanks everyone!! thumb
  5. I understand that you would disagree, and that's o.k. I'm not looking at the team through "Tide" colored glasses!! Three coaches in three years, and two balls made with precious metal is quite an accomplishment. thumb You should have won the gold last year, IMHO, you didn't because of my assessment, and it showed in the championship game.
  6. Can you still break a press?? I'll put you in my starting 4!
  7. Where's the football?? It's a monkey joke, some of you make get it.
  8. ptguard12...... I think Gleason can handle the inside play of Trenton just fine. Both of these teams are VERY physical. Trenton will not back down from a game like that, (see vs Dresden, Round 1) and neither will Gleason. Coach Frazier has always beaten people with a solid game plan. If he does as you suggest and stall, it would shock me. I don't think Gleason has to have an above average shooting night to win. As far as the press goes, this time of year and these two teams, it won't matter. Wescharge, HeavyD, and myself could break a press after 6 months of basketball. I think if Gleason plays solid defensively, and gets the home crowd behind them, this could be an upset in the making. The one thing I find interesting is the lack of conversation about coach Lumley. For the first time in years, Trenton is a disciplined team. No mouthing, no one showing their hiney's (except the parents), and a team that is buying into a system. Last year the inmates ran the assylum. This year their is a clear cut leader. It should be a great game. thumb
  9. True, Barnett does a lot, but who do you replace her with?!?!?! Give us five starters!!! Levister plays the 3 or 4 and even some 5, Bailey has played the 1 all year. Come on Volunatic, starting 5.
  10. Not bad, Not bad. Keep 'em coming. The Hudson vs Bailey will get 'em coming out of the woodwork!!
  11. North of Memphis and between the rivers.
  12. The top five starters by position. Schools must North of Jackson (including Jackson) and between the rivers. Give us your team. This could be interesting.
  13. 15A had a four-way tie for Coach of the Year.
  14. OOOOOOOO!! Someone else was watching the game too!! Levister can bang down low, and is quicker that you would think at the top of the key. She did a good job of getting to the basket and hitting the 10-15 foot jumper. I was shocked when she missed those free-throws down the stretch. It was obvious why she is a former District MVP. thumb
  15. Wait a minute there occhsfan......... Union City did not start a Pop Warner Football Program until last year and the High School has NEVER had an athletic period either.......yet they have been a powerhouse for years. Union City boys Basketball......no athletic period, one gym, three state championships. Union City Baseball, no athletic period, city field, multiple coaches....keep on winning. Chandler is and will continue a good job. To insinuate that McMillan could not do any better is a little premature. He had to deal with being the coach after the "legend" in Martin. I venture to say that was as difficult as Chandler having to take a bunch of girls that have had two years of coaching at best. You can cut athletes loose after a little coaching. As for the "administration getting off their high horse," they did. That is why you have what you have now......a good Coach doing a fine job. thumb
  16. He is. They won the regular season championship and the district tournament.
  17. I thought Caldwell went to Tennessee Tech. I know Rodney Bonds went to Tennessee and played baseball.
  18. I'm talking about Jonathan West who coached the middle school girls in the 2001-02 and '02-'03 seasons. He helped the girls to their first winning season at Union City Middle School in over 30 years.
  19. First, let me say this, Chandler, McMillan, and Suiter have all done a fine job. The age old arguement of "with all that talent, they should win" is bunk. You still have to get them to play. Somewhere along the way, they have to be developed as well. But, what if my rebuttal is "What if McMillan had all those athletes, what could he do with them?" The sophomore class at Union City is chaulked full of athletes. They were well coached in the Middle School, and now they are getting more of it in High School. As for Suiter, look at what he as overcome this year. He took over a program that was being run by the parents, loaded with talent, lost one of their top players for most of the season, and still had the girls playing at such a level that they tied for the regular season title and just won the tournament. Suiter, with all that to overcome, cannot be dismissed for the award either. If they could give it to all three, they should........wait a minute, they did that last night in Gleason!!
  20. I think it's safe to say I have somewhat of an idea
  21. Dresden-58 Gleason -56 This was a VERY good game. Both teams played well, hitting big shots all night. Gleason's three-point attempt to win the game went in and out. Dresden did a good job handling the second quarter run by Gleason. Gleason was down as many as 10 and up by as many as three. Great composure by both squads in a huge game. This was by far the best atmosphere for a high school game I have been a part of in the last 10 years. The Region tournament should be a heck of a place to be. thumb
