  1. Congrats Fairview...You outplayed, out hustled, outcoached us. Cothran is a killer. You got alot of heart. Good Luck, hope you go all the way. Hope everyone that made the trip down, has a safe trip home.
  2. Well, I don't really think Patrick deserves Mr. Football back of the year but if there is a better defensive player playing 1A football in the state than Patrick Willis I wanna see him. Maybe I don't cause he'd be a VERY BAD MAN....
  3. I certainly hope you are right, but blowouts have really not been the m.o. against the better teams this year...And I don't know that Fairview is strong or not...but if you got a kid rushing for 200 yds per game your doing something right....I look for us to get a comfortable lead 2-3 td's and then set on the ball just like we have all the rest of this year...showing very few plays....JMO.
  4. JacketFan48, IMO, for you to win the game you will have to throw the ball, and I don't mean 6 or 7 times and your QB will have to be hot. You will also have to win the turnover battle. It sounds like Mr. Cochran is the bomb...but I have a hard time believing he's gonna run for 150-200 yards on us. At least not with 8 or 9 defenders on the line of scrimmage. You will have to be hitting the quick short passes to back us up. On defense, first down will be key for your D...If we are gaining 5-6 yrds a pop on first down it's gonna be hard to stop. It's no secret we are a running team. No trickery involved...ball control is the Stangs specialty. Speed is the name of our game. Have a safe trip.
  5. I know nothing about Loretto but Riverside struggled in their last three ballgames. I saw them play Huntingdon, and they were not at all impressive. Late in the game it was 35-7 and then they scored a couple of quick ones against our 2nd and 3rd teamers to make it a 35-21 final. I have heard they kinda lost their edge after that game. On the other hand they only lost to USJ 14-0...beat Lewis County and McNairy County which were rather impressive. I think they are very talented but maybe a little quick to give up if you jump on them early. No disrespect to Riverside at all, that's just my feeling.
  6. I was listening to a call in show out of Lexington, TN and the host made mention of a story coming out tommorow about one of the top ranked teams in the state (from the West Tn area I assume) possibly having to forfeit all their games from this year due to using ineligible players therefore being out of the playoffs. Has anybody heard anything about this or know which team it is?
