  1. Has Stewart been offered by anyone? Is anyone coming to his games to watch? Who is showing interest in him/who is he talking to/who has he made visits to? I've seen Bone's choices and interest, where are Stewart's?
  2. I'm glad this rivalry has picked back up again. I was involved in those games back in the 90's when there was not a better game around than those in the playoffs. As for the arrogance, MUS is a great institution with fine students, faculty, and administration, as a BA grad I have a great respect for the owls. Good to see MUS back where they belong - in the heat of DII, I still hope BA pulls out a win, but the eagles have to play really well to do so. Good luck to both.
  3. I agree, Coach Flatt would not try and run the score up on Coach Bowers. I think this dynamic is very interesting, I think their (Bowers and Flatt's) rivalry is kind of a student/teacher relationship - Bowers (and Pack) work and learn from Coach Flatt for some time, both go out and become ultra successful using a lot of the same schemes and ideas (but not completely the same) and then Coach Bowers beats Coach Flatt more often. It reminds me of Bobby Knight and Coach K - both very successful, yet they share a tremendous amount of respect for one another. I said earlier BA wins by a lot this week, but watch out, Ensworth will compete in a few years once they have full enrollment, plus their facilities, and coaching - watch out.
  4. Bowers and Pack take on their first employer together - should be interesting what transpires - BA by a lot
  5. No argument here, Milan, Huntington, and Westview are clearly the top three teams in the region and 3 of the best in the state - USJ definitely has a tall order with those teams (as well as the other teams in the region), but give Marley a few years with the talent he has coming up - 7th,8th,9th graders and they'll compete
  6. I agree, usj will be back, go check out their middle school team play this year
  7. Ward, How do you go about registering for one of these tournaments? I have a 14U team and would like to play in the Central North sub-state. Thanks.
  8. It doesn't matter who BA had and who they didn't have. They beat Bishop Byrne, and quite handily. So all this talk about BA and having Wright and how they can't win without him, WHO CARES! He is on their team, and they won the state championship, so give them their due, they beat the number one team (Bishop Byrne), and have successfully defended their title, no matter who they have. It seems that you're just trying to make a pitiful excuse for your team getting pasted. Give BA their credit they won the title, bottom line.
  9. Jimmy Gentry of BA, he's not coaching anymore, but he's one of the greats, over 50 years of coaching experience
  10. the 91' BA team was pretty good - Jeff Speedy, Brad Perry, Jason Hill, Kris Garrett, Chris Miller. Only one loss to Paducah Tillman (last second drive by Billy Jack Haskins), demolished Powell 42-7 in Clinic Bowl, Speedy set like 8 Clinic Bowl records. Probably top 3 or 4 in BA's teams.
  11. Brandon100, Jeff Jarrett never went to FRA or BA, he want to Goodpasture (his little brother went to BA in the mid 90's). As for this MBA as the best in the state, no way. I'm a huge D-II fan, I graduated and played for a D-II school when it competed with everyone else, that's beside the point. D-II is so watered down it's a joke. BA had to win one game to get the championship, MBA had to win two. Are you kidding me? There are only seven teams in D-II AAA, so you play those teams all year long and in the playoffs. Before the split you would hardly ever play a team twice. The split has ruined high school football in this state. Before you had BA playing Pearl-Cohn, Hillsboro, Maplewood, Clarksville to name a few. MBA played much of the same schools and some other public power houses on a regular basis. Then in the playoffs these schools played Cleveland, Maryville, Haywood, and Riverdale. You can't tell me that a school that doesn't have to play any of these schools is the best team in the state - and vice versa. I will say it until I die, let em play so that we can all shut up, let them settle it on the field like they used to. But until then, please don't say a team from D-II is the best. They only play six other teams.
  12. Veercoach, are you kidding? Goodpasture as the most dominant team in any classification in 96'? Brentwood Academy and Pearl Cohn both would have dominated them. That was one of BA best teams ever, that's of all time. Off that team I can name at least 10 players that did or would have played D-1 (Tito Lee), I'm not counting vandy. As for pearl cohn, Maurice Fitzgerald, Santonio Beard, John Henderson, to name a few. PC vs. BA would have been dream game that year. Goodpasture would have been destroyed that year by either of these teams. Maybe in 1A or 2A that year they were the best. As for Indian, the linebacker on BA's team that year, Austin Kemp, went to UT, the other backer, walked on at Nebraska, Jaman Bass.
  13. Mikki Allen and Tremayne Allen are not related. Tramayne's older brother Al was a dominant tight end/ defensive end at BA in the early nineties before he hurt his back (he would have been big time D-1), he ended up playing hoops at Belmont. However, Al and Tremayne's dad (Aubrey) played in the NFL for Philly for a while. Tremayne played one year for BA, then walked on at Floriday for Spurrier and started at tight end for them. Then played for the Bears for a while. As for Mikki, he did played exhibition for the 49ers, but never made the roster. Mikki was probably the best DB BA has ever had.
