  1. I think McTorry was undoubtably the best athlete of the two and one of the best athletes ever to wrestle in TN. However, I think this was precisely his problem against Nelson. McTorry whipped everyone so bad, that he wasnt conditioned well for the close matches. He was so quick that he could wrestle from open and rarely had to use set-ups. He was so strong that he could afford to not have perfect technique. Nelson was the only person that had enough athletic ability to slow McTorry down. Time after time Nelson would close the gap and McTorry couldn't clear his head. Nelson was always a little stronger in the 3rd. My hat is off to both of them. They were two of the greatest ever. -FLYINGMERKEL-
  2. justwrestle, Fact of life...boys wrestle harder when girls are watching! I certainly dont claim to know everything about gender relations but i think that this is one of life's indisputable truths. Plus, we arent exactly doing a great job getting a lot of fans and people outside of our sport interested. I think we would be crazy to remove cheerleading. Lets face it, there isnt a whole lot of glamour in wrestling as it is...why remove what little we have. -Flyingmerkel-

    BGA

Where is bga wrestling this weekend?
  4. Will they be competing in mostly Freshmen-JV events, or will JP2 try to wrestle at the varsity level?
  5. I hear John Paul II was a beast back in the day. Considering the circumstances, I wonder if the TSSAA could make an eligibility exception for the holy father. Im sure coach Rich could use a bit of divine presence in his middle weights. -Flying M-
  6. I recall rumors about two years ago that MTSU was actually planning to change from a club to a varsity team. Does any one know what happened? Was it funding, interest, leadership?
