  1. I agree that any of the named pitchers would be good candidates for Pitcher of the year. I was just giving my opinion for MVP. Kasie does not have more wins because Coffee County uses a 2 pitcher system. Her father takes care of her arm & will not let it be overused. CC coaches tend to believe in that philosopy also. I am not slighting any of the other pitchers & Kristen Swann is a rising star for CC. My daughter caught Kasie for 3 years & she tells me how good Kasie changes speeds. She may not look dominant like a Cat Hosfield but she has had wins against Riverdale & A tough Chelsea Owens Limcoln Co. team. She has anchored & brought 4 regular season championships to CC. She truly has been the Rock for the Lady Raiders & I would love to see her recognized for her hard work, leadership, heart,& character! Goingdeep
  2. Being a father of a past recipient & and being a past coach of fastpitch ball, Kasie Meeks is definately the most significant player on her team! I tried coaching for years without excellent pitching & never could win. It is all about the Pitcher! Kasie Meeks has not only carried the Lady Raiders this year but also in the years since she was a Freshman! She is an excellent Leader & never lets her emotions get the best of her. Motlow is getting a CLASS ACT! She is the ROCk that has held the Lady Raiders together for the last 4 years. I think Chelsea Jones is an excellent pitcher & she definately carries her Tullahoma team but as a general rule prestigous awards go to a player on the district winning team. It is about wins & not just era. Kasie you have my vote & Jenna said it is an honor to have you as a friend. Goingdeep
  3. Thanks for sharing the information.I was not sure if selection included tournament play or not. I think that the coaches pick during the season. I started this thread to just see others opinions & to give some the fun to express themselves. I hear every year that this girl was left out or this one only made it because of politics. Congratulations to every girl that started for their respective trams. It is quite an accomplishment to be one of the 9 starters for your school
  4. Just wanting some peoples opinions on who are the best in 8AAA this year? AS I follow Coffee County & have not been able to attend all their games, I have witnessed some excellent players but I think the all district awards should be what a player represents the whole season & not just what they accomplish during the tourneyment. Just want some nominees for fun. here are my few 1. Hannah Lester-CF-Coffee County 2. Kacy Meeks-P-Coffee County 3 Shortstop-Shelbyville 4 Pitcher-Lincoln County 5 Right Field-Franklin County Thes girls have played outstanding the games I haved viewed-not trying to start any contraversy! Who rates high on your personal list?
  5. Fcmama, I don't think the 1 call cost you the game. The plays that killed you was trying to steal on Coffee's catcher! Bad mistake-many have tried & many have failed! The girl has an accuerate cannon & has taken Coffee out of many tough situations! Goingdeep
  6. Hey zeroedge, I just wanted to reply to your post. You maybe right that everyboby has a great day, but let me tell you about heart. Heart can overcome & cause one to overachieve-I will agree that Coffee beat a better team in Riverdale. Hey they took our coach & ace pitcher, but no way was our girls going to sucuumb to to the pressure. Catalano was superb but some how we found a way to win by playing superb defense! We in Coffee County never get any credit but Raiderone started a tradition here & nobody wants to schedule us at home! DaddyRaider has carried on the tradition! I will agree that we have never won the big dance but I will tell you for all you haters that Raiderone had it in place when we were banned from the tournament! He had the most dominant picher in the state that year in Danielle Catalano!!! I would give my vote to Riverdale this year because her little sister is the ace! Soddy Daisy was the most dominant team throughout last year but let Beech sneak up on them. I just hope everybody is overconfident when they play Coffee County-Goingdeep
  7. Mynameis, I am going to have to agree with you. I just have a gut feeling that it will be the year for Tullahoma. They will have a stable of pitchers with Duke, Barnes & Carr. Young, Kimbro & the catcher Duke are all good athletes that grew up playing travel ball for Coffee County during the summer. I project that Tullahoma will be the best hitting club in the district from top to bottom in their lineup. I hear that Lincoln County has the best picher in the district so who really knows-I have seen great pitching silence good hitters! Thats why they play the game! Good luck to all the district teams
  8. District 8AAA should really be a competitive district this year. I think Lincoln County may have the edge with returning experience. Columbia is tough & Tullahoma won the tournament. Coffee won the regular season. Which one of these programs will be there when it is all said & done! Support your team & players-Goingdeep
  9. Coffee won the game pretty handily. Do not remember the score but varsity was pulled early to keep game from becoming too 1 sided. Duncan & Meeks shared mound time & performed quite well! Emily Shelton had another superb night at the plate & on the basepaths. Good defense, but the rest of the Seniors need to step it up at the plate to be competitive with good teams! The rest of the team needs to become HUNGRY like Shelton!!!!! Goingdeep
  10. I agree that the team looked good as a whole. I thought that the pitching was great for the 1st time out. Great job Hannah & Lindsey! What a great catch Emily Shelton made in the outfield-the girl covers a lot of ground! She also hit well & set the table for the middle hitters! The rest of the teams bats seemed a little slow & sluggish & I hope that our middle lineup hitters will be more productive in the clutch as our season progresses. Great job Lady Raiders for the 1st time out of the gate. Stay HUNGRY & you will reach your goals! Goingdeep
  11. youwilneverno....im tired of hearing about you talk so much about soddy daisy this and soddy daisy that. yes soddy is an awesome team, but if they're so good, why did beach beat them in state?? im tired of hearing you trash talk coffee county too. if you think they're so horrible, did you know that the first time they played beach(((may i remind you that's the team that BEAT soddy))) they ended up going in overtime with them? not so bad of a team then huh? yes soddy beat coffee county in sub state 4-0 but if you were at that game you could also see that those girls, in reality, had to get about 7 outs an inning. talk the trash all you want... we're used to it. i've concluded that people always start this talk about cc because there's this little thing called jealousy....can you name me many teams that have been as successful as cc has EVERY year??.........
  12. Nolesfan, Not only am I proud of this team that Coach Floyd-I am elated to hear this score in the Middle East. My daughter just e-mailed me the other day & said the Big Man was going down-a good sign that this team believes in themselves! Kasie-thanks for pitching a great game! Go Lady Raiders! Jubolant in the Middle East-ya'll made my day!-Goingdeep
  13. Way to battle back Coffee County! Getting back to the finals after an upset loss to Shelbyville is quite an accomplishment-but remember your work is not done! Be the young lady that Wants to be in the batter's box when the game is on the line! Be the fielder that Wants the ball hit to them when the team needs the crucial out! I want the team to know that I am very proud of the way you battled back but I am Very Selfish-Send Me GOOD News OF A DISTRICT CHAMPIONSHIP TO KUWAIT! Your BIGGEST FAN-Goingdeep
  14. Thanks Ladyraider005, I know all the ladies that you mentioned are good young women!I was just interested in the positions that they were playing. Some have changed positions compared to my memory. I just hope we only get better next year! Thanks again for answering this post! Goingdeep
  15. Nolesfan, Thanks for the information-sounds like the future may be bright! Thanks again,-Goingdeep
  16. Someone please inform me on the won/loss record of the Lady Raiders junior varsiity & who played what positions? Thanks, Goingdeep
  17. Thanks Nolesfan, I can not explain how much I miss Lady Raider softball-I dedicated most of my adult life coaching & teaching my daughters the game in hopes that they would both start for the Lady Raiders together. My dream came true but it is teally hard not getting to see them play! I am really grateful for your reports on the games. I live to get on the computer to read about the team. The coaches have done a wonderful job! Thanks for Fans like you! Later Goingdeep
  18. Thanks to the radio station & broadcasters who made my copy of the CC Franklin Co. softball game. I have shared it with my fellow soldiers & it is Good to hear the voices of Coffee County! I would like to thank all the parents & players that signed my copy of the program. The parents of the players need to pat themselves on the back for raising such FINE young women. I am honored to have daughters on this team!Girls remember that hitting is confidence-like Coach Floyd said on the broadcast. Please go out there & show your confidence & show everyone that Coffee County is the undisputed district champ! Thanks again, to everyone involved in my morale booster. It is an Honor to serve the people of Tn. & especially those of Coffee County!-Goingdeep
  19. chs4life, Thanks for the report again! Way to go Ash & Kasie!-Goingdeep
  20. Hey CHS4life, Thanks for the report on the game! I sure do miss the broadcasts. Shayna - You ROCK girl! Keep up the hard work Lady Raiders-Your biggest fan from 7000 miles away-Goingdeep
  21. Zeroedge, I guess you did not read my apology! I am human -I chose the wrong word & was MAN enough to admit it! After I posted the thread-I realize that I made a mistake & decided to try & correct it-if you check the post times you would know that! Goingdeep
  22. Raider1, Please accept my public apology for using the word ABANDONED in my above post. I know why you left for Riverdale & I chose a word with a negative connotation. I realize what you did for softball in Manchester & that you built it from the ground up! Many girls in Manchester truly miss you & I think that is why I chose that word. Sorry again-Goingdeep
  23. I believe that Coach Floyd made a smart move by playing his JV against Riverdale. When you have been around softball a long time sometimes you do not want to show your assets early. Coach Floyd is not scared to play Riverdale-he just wants to play that game when it is for all the marbles! If Coffee County continues it's district run & wins the district-they will probably face Riverdale in the region. Coach Floyd knows already that Raider1 has the advantage on pitch calling because he already knows the players he abandoned-why give Raider1 that opportunity to hone his skills-put it all on the line on 1 game! Many do not know that coach Floyd has won World Qualifier tournaments in the summer. He is not scared to play anybody-he just did not want to give Raider1 the opportunity to learn how to pitch around some of Coffee's big sticks & Coffee does have some girls that can hurt you with 1 swing! Later Goingdeep
  24. Sounds like Soddy Daisy is the team everyone can use a measuring stick for. Great program-have always been a nemesis to Coffee County-Goingdeep
