  1. Hope you get all better by Fri.(or sooner).Wouldn't want you to miss the game. If necessary, we can postpone it. We have that power you know!!
  2. This is soooo cool! I can see it all now, 2 top teams, each with a so call "black controversial cloud" hanging over their heads. The no1 topic at water coolers for miles around. A record crowd, some hoping both teams somehow lose. Ton of money made at the gate, and Ronnie C. can retire. I love this game. I'm so excited I'm having to wear Depends just in case!!
  3. Quite true, Purple/Gold, I reiterate, no one of sound mind would choose to play in a quagmire opposed to a good field.
  4. Oh my, no1, your talents are surpassed only by your looks. See ya on the top row!
  5. My vote has to go to T.T. Very versatile, RB,DB,punt ret., kick ret., WR., excells at each. Certainly can't overlook Joey Cook. Excellent runner. These guys are going to make some noise next season. Go Jackets!
  6. QueenBee, Who cares, empty out your jail, and come on down & play on our flood-on-demand field. We'll have a good game & time regardless. C YA [Edited by lgw711 on 11-19-02 8:34P]
  7. Anyone know for sure if 104.1FM will broadcast our game live, or the Gords./Boyd game? Would like to bring radio to game if it TC/SC.
  8. You come on out to the parking lot, lg...I'll be the one with the crown on... Wearing a crown, huh? Now how did I know you were going to say that? HA! C YA
  9. Personally, I'm not counting any chicks this week. All the chickens went to roost after round two. Only roosters left now. Too close to call from now own. Guess you could say I'm being "chicken", pun intended. Do you know me, I don't know. Could be. Where do you think you know me from?
  10. fulton2top, What kind of town is Hartsville? Simplest answer: We don't have caviar, we have pinto beans. Great fans, great atmosphere. Win or lose, you'll like it! Go Jackets! Hope to see you then.
  11. Ah yes, two of the best teams in 3A going head to head again, both loaded down with controversy. Makes those stands fill up don't it? I love it when a plan comes together!
  12. Antwan, fanman; Looks like the only decent thing for us to do is to just cancel the game entirely. We do not deserve to be there, our coaches are scoundrels, and should be run out of mid-state. Clint Satterfield is one of the most successful and respected coaches in the state. As far coach Naynard, I don't know him that well, so will let you speak to that. My opinion would be that since he is not only the head coach but the principal as well, I believe there would be a degree of professionalism there. Scooby, I don't know where you're coming from, but considering the nctc.com in your profile, I would guess there is an axe to grind, which you have the right to do ( 1st amendment), The Jackets have a slogan, "Winners train; losers complain" See you guys Fri. nite, maybe I'll get to meet QueenBee;she sounds like a fun person. 13. How long can you beat a dead horse? I wasn't there when "THE DECISION" was made, but I can assure you it was made with everybody's best interest in mind. Rumor is Clint didn't make the decision or not alone. I can't confirm this, just overheard at the game.Anyway, it doesn't matter who actually pulled the trigger. I can't imagine anyone of sound mind wanting to play in a quagmire as opposed to a decent field, if given a choice. I can attest personally to the fact we have played in rain, snow, frozen fields, fog, and have played well. Additionally, you make the mistake of assuming we are a one dimensional team,ie: TT/speed / Wesley Satterfield/pass. This is not the case. If you follow week after week, you would be aware we can be quite versatile. But, believe what you will. This game is over, win, lose, or draw. Next year, your team will be much improved as we all know. Go 10-0 during the season, win all your region games, get home field advantage thru the playoffs, plus the brackets will be reversed next year. If the occasion arises you can make the decisions. Why do you think it's such a big deal in the NFL. Home field is major. None of us (I hope ) is old enough to remember this, but when Andrew Jackson was elected Pres., he was chastized for putting friends in high places. Andy said, "To the victor belongs the spoils." Time to let it go and move on . Best wishes to all.
  14. coacht, Thanks for visiting with us, hope you enjoyed your stay. I agree Grundy will be tough next year. Hope we don't have to play them again any time soon. As said earlier, a few different results on a play here and there, and it could have been a different game. Don't know about everyone else, but I am exhausted from standing & yelling all nite. My voice left about the end of the first quarter. Have a good nite all.
  15. Very good game - tough, hard fought game. No one clocked out early tonite. As said earlier, #37 Joey Cook, excellent running back. Don't have a clue what quit means. Oh yes, no snow. Very good football weather; 40 deg.,lite breeze at times. Hope everyone has a safe trip home.
  16. As far as I know the Trous/Grundy game will not be broadcast live. Wish it was. TC Jackets!
  17. just1np, Castle Heights Military Academy went bankrupt several years ago. The property was sold & converted into office bldgs.,city dept. offices, restaurant, etc. Don't remember the reason.
  18. std Very true, everybody has an excuse. You guys are having another good season; I grew up around Westmoreland, and know you two play each other( West. usually loses). Also, some fans are fair weather(as in winning)fans as well. But, people don't realize this has a tremendous impact on the players. I have been to several games when we on the verge of losing, and the crowd got involved & fired the guys up. Emotion is a wonderous thing. Anyway, good luck. Maybe our reg. season schedules will meet someday.
  19. std (thanks for the good mark) & Volunteer General, Thanks for the reply, hope everyone has a good, safe game tonite.Looks like we are going to be wet here in Hartsville, but the beat goes on.But you can only get so wet, everything else runs off. C YA
  20. Ok, lets go thru this one last time. The reason for Trousdale Co. moving from 1A to 3A was as follows: we were "required" to move up to 2A due to a slight increase in enrollment. For geographical & financial reasons we elected to move to 3A. Smith Co., Upperman,Cannon,York,Jackson, were already moving to 3A from 2A.With the exception of York, these schools, plus Macon Co.,DeKalb, were in close proximity, and required less travel than others. Also, in 2A we would probably be in the region with Goodpasture & Lipscomb as some say. As far as running from or being afraid of playing these teams, this makes no sense whatsoever. Throughout the years we have played many of the private schools and public of varying sizes and strengths, and won our share of the time, as the record well shows. The primary reason for not "preferring" to play the private group is financial. Fact is they do not have a good following/fan base. Why that is I won't attempt to explain, but very few fans show up even for a playoff game. This of course translates into low gate receipts. Money is a key issue like it or not. It takes money to keep a good program going. Ask any of the small rural schools & see how things are going. One year ( maybe 2 or 3 years ago) in 1A we were to play Red Boiling Springs, and scheduled to play @ RBS.They agreed to play in Hartsville due to the fact the crowd would be larger, and both schools made more money, and worked out better for both. Afraid of playing Goodpasture & Lipscomb? Why? Sure they have good teams usually, but they're not any better than other teams we have played. And we have lost a few games now & then, not the end of the world. It's is a game. For the record(no pun intended): State Champs: 1922/72/90/93/97/98 Runners Up: 1973/74/75 Playoffs: 1972/73/74/75/76/77/78/88/89/90/91/92/93/94/95/96/97/98/99/ 2000/01/02 Undefeated: 1922/63/65/72/73/74/75/76/90/96/2002 The record speaks for itself, it's easy for the "private crowd" to set back & whine now about we are afraid to play them knowing they wont't have to play to back it up. Let it rest folks, go play in your own house with your own rules. One more thing, Clint Satterfield didn't bring this about by himself, He has only one vote like everyone else. Why aren't you complaining about anyone else. This passed by a large majority. Looks like the old green-eyed monster has reared it's ugly head again!
  21. Grundy fan, From Tracy City take I-24 West toward Nashville; after you pass Murfreesboro, take Hwy.840 East to I-40 & Lebanon/Knoxville .From 840, take I-40 East to Lebanon/Hartsville exit # 238.
