  1. I just spoke with Tiffany and told her about this post. She wanted to know who Anita Overcast is? She had never heard of her. And which SSS team is Orange?
  2. Well, I just heard that Ricky has taken the MTSU position. So much for Sports Shop. I guess that they saw the fall of the Roman Empire and got out while they still had an semblance of an organization. Will this be you guys last year, or will you wind everything up next after next year?
  3. Showtime You do not know what you are talking about! Come on, put up another post. I can't wait!
  4. I don't get on Coacht much anymore... I am on to other things. I wanted to give Tiffany a well deserved plug and could not help getting Bigtime7 and troups all wound up. It is too easy. Yes... Tiffany knows what I do and I know what she does. At the time of this post, she is playing in the LPGA Pro AM over at Legends. Certainly an ambidextrous person at that.
  5. Showtime... why are you talking about this? This has nothing to do with you or your Sport Shop thing. I am talking about the "Sport Shack" ! Dang... get it straight. HA HA HA HA HA HA
  6. Who is talking about Sport Shop... I said 'Sport Shack' It is that place next to the "Love Shack" which is a "little ole place we can get together rrrr... Love Shack babyyy!" A little nerve perhaps!?! Tiffany can be contacted at 931-619-8991 to schedule private lessons.
  7. My family has been through 'The-Tiffany-Coaching Experience'. My daughter would probably not have gotten a college scholarship for basketball if it were not for Tiffany. Due to Tiffany's input, my daughter will have an opportunity to have her entire college paid for. If your daughter really wants to play past high school, Tiffany’s coaching will give your child the insight of *what-is-necessary* to make it to the next level. The ‘Sport Shack’ in Shelbyville will *USE* your child’s skills for their success. The ‘Sport Shack’ people will *NOT* develop your child to her potential. Even if they wanted to, they do not have the capability of coaching girls to their potential. The ‘Sport Shack’ organization merely uses the girls to accomplish *THEIR* goals. They have little desire to help your daughter accomplish more. It is all about them! As next year’s 14U, you should consider what is necessary to take your child to the next level and let Tiffany help you. Now is the time!
  8. Whoops... I meant to delete this here when I started the thread. Those Sport Shack guys... Man!
  9. Well I guess I am sadden that her Mother told me this. We were talking after the our game at Overton. I have no idea why her mother would tell me this if it were not true. But again, it is true that God blesses us in different ways.... What a shame. Jacie seems like a good kid. She was very polite.
  10. I spoke with Jacie and her Mother at the Overton tourney. Her mother told me that Jacie has only been playing basketball for two years now. She did not play as a freshman. She was concentrating on soccer back then, but started playing basketball and fell in love with the sport. She played with 16U 'The Elite' for AAU this past spring/summer. Two years of playing B-ball and scores 54 points in a game. God blesses all of us in different ways, doesn't he!?!
  11. MTJB I am pretty sure I know who you are, and so you know who I am. So you should also know how I feel about Alysha and Gib. I know that the MJ girls will be ready to play, but I watched HH play, and WOW! If HH puts what I saw on the floor, it will be a great and close game. I would not let one off game dictate how that team can play. Remember Indiana's Finest? CP
  12. I have seen Mt. Juliet play and I have seen Harpeth Hall play. They are scheduled to play each other on Tuesday, February 5th. Right now I would have to say it is a "pick 'em". And frankly, this DI vs DII match up will most likely tell you who is the best team in the state. I cannot wait!
  13. I would definately give Gib the "Kinsley" award for hustle! thumb
  14. I think that the most intelligent statement made so far is that this thread is silly! Can you believe that a guy started this on a rumor and look how everyone is chiming in! But I will continue… Our high school played DCA. These girls pressed the entire game and they killed us. I have never seen so much hustle in a group of girls. But you know what, our team did not become concerned with their feelings and crying…boohoo…make them stop it. (use whiney voice). The next practice, coach worked on breaking the press and it has not been a problem since. DCA just brought to our attention that we needed to work on that. As I have said, I am not an advocate for pressing when the game is out of hand. But if it helps my team to do so, then that is just the way it is. The other team may become better because they do not want to be embarrassed again. If fairness is the reason to call off the press, then the first thing to do is to not keep score. Are you not concerned how these girls feel when they lose? Does it not hurt more to lose a close one than lose in a blow-out? And font size does not make your point any better.
  15. I spoke with a former Lady Vol about why Pat Summit ran the score up when it was apparent that the win was at hand. She told me that it was Pat's opinion that slowing down because the score was lop-sided was particpating for less than 40 minutes. Pat never wanted a team that would slow up because the other team could not run with them. It would have been training to go less than 100% all the time. Now...is Pat Summit a person without C-L-A-S? (four-letter-word-version)
  16. "Let me ask the question if your up by oh 30 - 50 points and still pressing because your working on your press for a tougher opponent, how much can you really gain from pressing a weak team that can't break a press anyway? It would sound like basically you would be practicing layups against a team that you are beating by this kind of margin." As the team had only been together for about a week, and the game was decided early, we had an opportunity to make the game a practice. The point was not for a lay-up drill, but so that our players understood the position on the court that the coach wanted. BTW...this was the same game that the ref asked the coach to call off the press during a dead ball and the coach complied. This is also different from high school in the respect that you pay for these game out of your pocket and go into a tournament expecting to play good competition. When you have games like these, you have to salvage some value for your money. Also, I am not an avocate of pressing when the game is out of hand. But on the other hand, I cannot stand the stall-game in high school.
  17. I do not read any qualifications to this question. The best bball coach in tn is... Pat Summit....duh!
  18. I was a part of an AAU game where we were working on our press. The score got ugly and the opposing team's parent were yelling at us, but we were preparing for a much tougher game to come. In reading that the coach is a poor sportsman because they run the score up, what about Pat Summit beating teams 110 to 39? That was just a couple of years ago. I heard a rumor that a team played the entire game in a hand stand position! They shot with their feet.
  19. During a dead ball, I saw a ref ask our coach to call off the press, but I do not believe they have the authority to mandate the coach to do it. However, the poor reffing that I have seen this year, this is not surprizing. BTW...our coach called off the dogs when the ref asked.
  20. In reading the box scores, I kept seeing Alison Taylor for Nashville Christian score 30 to 40+ points per game, and now she is not scoring at all. Did she get injured? What's the story? Does anyone know?
  21. It is true that Alysha Clark did not play in places where she could be seen by the people that rank these kids. She only played in the championship game of the Adidas tournament, she played to 5th place in the AAU Nationals, 1st place in an AAU Super Regional, and some little tounament in Shelbyville. I remember Gino and Pat and some head coach from Texas at these games and not seeing her. It was a shame! For Alysha, she went where she wanted to go. As for all the hype about ranking, it is fun for some people and it is certainly nice for these kids to see their name in publication. It makes them feel good. But there is a lot of marketing that goes into getting these kids ranked. Cait McMahon has got to be the most marketed player I have ever seen. She's got the game, but as I have said before, I have seen girls that are better. There was this kid that never made it into these national rankings. She never got a look by Pat Summit. She ended up getting a scholarship at Duke by going to their camp. I think her name was Beard!
  22. How could I forget Miss Jackson! But still the question is what were these girls National rating prior to entering college?
  23. Were there any girls from Tennessee listed in the National High School top 80 two plus years ago that are currently getting court time in a NCAA top 25 program? The only girl I can think of is Vanderbilt's Ashley Early out of Briarcrest and Ramsey out of Shelbyville. Where they listed as top 80 players on Adidas and Nike? Just curious... I believe there is more marketing to get listed than people think.
