Right on the heels of the Masters comes the Spring's second most favorite golf tournament. Please plan to join in the fun on April 26th and play in Notre Dame's golf tourney to raise funds supporting their wrestling and basketball programs. It will be held at Brown Acres for the 3rd straight year, although overtures from Augusta National get harder and harder to turn down. Bear Cat and Harry T will be there leading their teams. They have agreed to stick around for photograph and book signing sessions for the first hundred entrants so don't delay. If you'd like to reserve a slot for you and your foursome, and/or, sponsor a hole with your own uniquely designed sign send me an e-mail for a entry form for you and your team and a hole sponsorship. OK, OK, you win. Sheeesh what grouch! I forgot about the OLFers. If I can get 'you know who' to propagate', the kid will wrestle for the OLFers. Just don't reveal any secrets, OK? You win this one. I yield.

Don't forget the Tornado Club. They've turned out some outstanding wrestlers. There's no cost to be a part of this great organization, only nominal tournament entry fees, and the training a kid gets is second to none! They take ANY kid from the first grade to the eighth. The kids have fun and learn solid fundamentals at the same time. If I ever have a grand kid (hurry up boy) that's where he'll wrestle.

Harry: Leave your quarters at home - Bear Cat and his lovable sidekick, Coach Carter, will supply those. They always have. Don't you remember the procedure? They r a c k, we break - repeat.

The quality of the internet broadcast was stunning. I received an excellent image and audio signal the entire time - absolutely no interruption or hiccup. Moreover, the narration of the gentlemen who broadcast the play-by-play was outstanding. I'm sorry I can't remember their names, but they're great. Maybe somebody can post their names because they definitely deserve recognition. Everyone involved in this fine event between two great programs should take a bow. Thank you!

Those who missed our strategy session missed an opportunity to meet Big Red Blooded. A hale and hardy fellow, well met. ijtx (pronounced ige-tix) is far too magnanimous to comment on the outcome of the green felt competition but it went something like: Harry T doing a River Dance on the table.

That's an excellent question. He has soooo many. It has to do with green felt and lots of quarters - namely his. He's so forlorn when he loses yet so quick to @@@@ 'em for yet another clubbing. He just won't take 'run the table' for an answer. Amazing.

Bear Cat's nemesis is there.

If beating Bear Cat at pool on Friday at Merv's is all you need - consider that done.

Attending my kid's practice sessions has provided me with some of the fondest memories of my life. I attended many, I wish now, I'd attended even more. It allowed me to relate to him in ways that I would not otherwise had. It gave me an opportunity to brag on him when deserved, and to encourage him when he got down. I wouldn't take a jillion for that. Plus, it also gave me the opportunity to get to know the coaches and other parents. Some, who are now friends for life. In my opinion, coaches appreciate parents who take an interest in their own kid and the program they're participating in. The parent can look for ways to support and contribute to the team, and encourage other parents to as well. As far as parents, or anyone else, attending the wrestle-offs, that should not be allowed. The best way is for the two competitors to square off with only the coaches in attendance. All Saints makes a good point about giving the kid his space and time and allowing him the independence to mature on his own. Although, that time will come soon enough. Parenting does not come with a manual, so deciding when to back off is a real challenge. Kids feel secure when they know their interests are shared and supported.

Chattcity: What a great idea! Perhaps we can have a web cam installed for our next competition, assuming Bear Cat can heal quick enough - picture bludgeon. The good new is the docs say his stitches can come out soon. Other than the green felt thumping, Bear Cat was his usual jolly self. Harry (Mr. Clutch) was in good form which means a double whammy this season for Bear Cat and his lovable sidekick, Coach Carter. Fortunately, the outlook for this year's Fightin' Irish is much, much brighter. Why not plan to attend the next event? The web cam is a great idea - Bear Cat might figure out a way to raise some badly needed quarters.

Bear Cat: Your worst nightmare is about to come true. Fast ijtx will be there this afternoon. The word 'repentance' for you will take on a whole new meaning. Oh, by the way, bring your side kick. He's so classy when y'all lose. ijtx

Whiskey Joe: Uh..er...uh, now, I'm not doubting your sage counsel, not one little bit. But wouldn't those advertisers have even a stronger case for damages? I mean, wouldn't you be upset to pay good money for advertising and wind up on one of his drivel, uh, I mean posts?

Harry and Bear Cat: As you know, the Irish will hold their third annual golf tournament benefiting the wrestling and basketball programs. It will be held Saturday, April 28th. The tournament has grown since it began and results in a good contribution to both programs. It wouldn't be possible without the participation of suppoters like yourselves. That is why I'm reminding you two that the Distinguished Official Leadership for Tournament Success (DOLTS) committee will begin meeting soon. You will recall [?] the tremendous amount of planning it takes to put on this fun event where everyone has a great time. Also, the DOLTS committee has openings for new memebers, especially if they like to play pool. Go Irish!

Harry: Sounds like we need to convene a Caravan meeting and adjust that attitude. Next strategy session will be scheduled around the golf tournament meetings. Watch your e-mail box for details.

Dear Mr. Ron: We spent all aftenoon laughing; and, we moved too. Boy, that waitress was cute! We welcomed a new member into the fold this afternoon. Mr. Raider 76. A classy gentleman who gave way to the wrong side of the tracks this afternoon and graced our meeting with his presence. He will repent... I'd think. Let's pull for our Irish!
