  1. kp9481, it's people like you that drive me to improve our state's public education. as far as the loss to jacksonville bolles school(no. 1 team in usa today in 1997, loss 26-21 to mba in 1999) that was the only game played in jacksonville that night due to nearly 20 inches of rain that night and the previous one. excuses could be made for that loss, but since that was one of three during the 3 years we won it all, i'm not very accustomed to making excuses, like say...someone from hillsboro who if only such and such had happened would have won a championship. but, i digress. as far as this year, well, hillsboro could definitely beat mba, but mba could definitely beat hillsboro. bottom line-it would be a good game. not like if they had played in the past and been embarrassed like other public "powerhouses". (oakland 20-0 in 99, 38-0 in 00; lincoln co. 35-7 in 99; pearl-cohn 35-7 in 99; etc) oh yes, and for you scrappy, i'm not so sure old calvin "fridge" bryant would want any of the big red considering he was knocked out that frosh game in the 1st quarter w/ a concusion. probably doesn't remember it though. with all this said, hillboro has come on strong in past couple of years and should be commended, but not placed in the same sentence as mba; oops.
  2. no tradition huh? well, where shall we start? how about we go way back and then progress? 1926- greatest team in the history of high school football. at least the greatest record. the team averaged a point a minute and gave up zero points the entire year. onto 1967-oh yes, we did win the lose the first clinic bowl in 1950, but played fairly well after that. 1967-state champs, 1969-state champs, 1970-didn't go to the playoffs b/c we tied hillwood the first game of the year, but that was one of the greatest teams in the history of mba, beating the number 1 ranked team in the nation, Brownsville soundly. 1971-state champs. ill give you the 80s b/c that was the dark ages of mba athletics, well, in comparison to the previous and present feats. 1995-lose what was really the champonship game in the semi's to ba team who definitley did illegally recruit but is still considered one of the greatest teams in this state's history. 1996-same deal against another great ba team, only we lost in 2 OT. 1997-lose state to ryan, 1998-2000-state champs. of course we were the best in 99. i mean, not until the last regular season game did any team in tn score on our first string. as far as this year, i think we're beatable, but there is definitely no unbeatables like us in 99 or ba in 95.
  3. Sharp, Did I say McKenzie dominated the game? Learn to read. Clift did not do anything the first half when Mathis was on him. The only thing he could do was dive into Rick's knees once he realized he was no match physically. Clift is very quick though, and he's a great player. He's just not as strong as Mathis. Once again, if we were so slow and so unathletic, what was the problem? About luck, ya'll had just as many breaks as we did. We just capitalized on ours. As for the better team, we do know who that is. It's the team with the most heart and desire, and that is McKenzie. You're a very talented athlete. I thought the coach should have utilized your arm a little more. It's hard to defend a qb that can run and throw well. You can do both. Work hard and get ready for next year. You've got a lot of potential. Good luck next year.
  4. I agree with WesCharge, I think yall are lucky to be in that region with all them teams. To me, yall have been just lucky for 3 weeks and don't get me wrong you got to have it in the playoffs, but it' s gonna run out sometime. Yall sure didn' t have any athletes on that team. Yall did have heart that's for sure Sharp, Yea, we're real lucky to be in region 6 2A. Considering we just get dominated every year by region 5 2A. Ha. Actually I believe we'd be lucky if we got moved to region 5 2A. We're only 8 and 0 against ya'll since 2001. We've won your region two years in a row. When was the last time 5 2A made it past the quarters? And about not having any athletes on our team? What does that say about your team? Since ya'll were supposed to be so unbeatable. Our Mr. Football candidate wasn't even able to play the 2nd half. Oh well. I did notice some potential from one of your players. Clift would make a great cheerleader. He's really good at jumping high and waving his arms alot. That's about all he did friday night besides getting pancaked all throughout the first half. Good luck next year.
  5. Lewis county has no sportsmanship. They hit people late three or four times. After anytime they did something good that jumped around like they won the super bowl. After scoring the final touchdown a sorry sport from l.c. hit hayes late. very late. hayes was trying to stand up and this kid hit him in the back of the head from behind!!! yea thats sportsmanship. as for mckenzie being outmatched i think lewis county had less than 50 yards total offense in the second half. they scored on two big plays other than that they did very little. and as i said before the region 5-2a teams are always great....."next year" well i guess thats your quote "wait till next year" well i say huntingdon, mckenzie, riverside, milian, trenton, union city, and humbolt will be real scared.
  6. I was at game friday. Fairview only got inside the red zone one time!!!!! #22 dominated the whole game because he is superman. He scored one time. He also threw a td pass. Man superman is awesome. Agaisnt those 8-4 rebels.

    Fairview

First of all the one fan that yelled at your son was delt with, he was wrong for what he did. Your son did play great. He showed A lot of courage to keep playing. Your son did not get hit late nor was the play he got hurt on a cheap shot. I know you have not watched the film because there was no such play!! If there was, please show it to the tssaa so the refs can be shown they blew a call. When you see that phatomn hit is not on the film, stop posting that mckenzie is a bunch of dirty players. They are not dirty. But i am sure Fairview will win it all next because the teams in region 5-2a are always great... "next year". Westview, Milian, Humbolt, Union City, Huntingdon, Riverside, and Mckenzie don't even have a chance to play with that region.
  8. how can you say mckenzie couldn't stop number 22?? He only had one touchdown. From what i saw he had one long run and that was the only time Fairview even moved the ball. Did Fairview even get past the 50 yard line after the first quarter?? How many times did Mckenzie get inside the twenty?? I think the only reason this game was close is because Mckenzie didn't score in the red zone. They had too many mental errors. After watching the film please respond. For Mckenzie to beat Lewis County they must cut out the errors. It will be a great game. Good luck to both teams. by the way i will count the number of times that "little mathis" pancakes those great lineman for LC.
  9. ccfullback23 doesn't know anything about football. quit living in the past.
  10. I'm not exactly sure what you meant when you said Fairview was only losing 12-8 with seconds left in the 4th quarter. Because as i recall we were winning 24-8 with 7:11 left in the 4th quarter. It was 18-8 with 3 min. left in the 2nd quarter. Just wanted to clarify a little.
