On any given night. Your right Surf. One team may look great on Tue. and play like crap on Friday. Someone may be sick and the whole team be lost without him. I like the Raiders old saying "Just win, Baby!!" District Tournament is really a 2 team race. Nobody else has a shot except for DB and SH. The region should be fun adding Greeneville in there too. Giddy UP!!

Look out is right. D-B is still not healty, but on the getting better road. Seth Jervis played maybe 8 min Sat for his first action in 3 games. Same with Jeff Morrison who comes of the bench. Bobby Snyder (Dan. Boone Coach) made a "wrong" comment after D-B beat his team. He did say DB was the better team but that SH has more depth. Not even close. Sure SH subs 5 at a time, but when they do, there nowhere close to being the same calliber team, the 2nd 5 can't stay on the court with the Tribe, period. That's really not up for debate either. I question Poe's coaching doing that. It's ok to sub 5 at a time, if the 2nd 5 are nearly as good, but...... not when there is such a drastic drop off. D-B has, let's count the quality players (possible starters). Azmar Blye,Henry Williams,Seth Jervis,Jarrod Wootten,Thomas Harrison,Ryan Blackwell,Lamon Williams,Jeff Morrison.So that's 8 that could start and contribute bigtime on anybody's team. Then we still have 5-6 that give min. anytime the coach wants to plug them in. Jamie Creech is probably the best passer on the team, didn't even mention him. D-B has got the depth to go far in Tourny Time. Come on Greeneville game, bring your tree with ya!! You need it. Giddy Up!! Dobyns Bennett rolled Jeff County in the Buck Van Huss Dome Saturday evening on Senior Night. The Tribe was on Fire in the 1st half, taking a 53-17 lead. And that was with Subs playing a good part of the 2nd quarter. Guessing the Indians shot 60% in the 1st half. Jarrod Wooten led the way in the 1st half with 8pts, 6 block shots and 4 rebounds in about 8 min of action. Azmar Blye hit a couple of 3's, Henry Williams was scoring, Thomas Harrison doing the dirty work inside and Jeff County was totally outmatched. 2nd half was really just a practice drill for the Indians 2nd and 3rd strings. Wootten did get a sa weet lob pass from Henry Williams that he slammed home. **Get this.... Greeneville Head Coach was in the Dome. He was at the Boone game too, I just didn't recognize who he was, but I did see him. I guess the Greenville Coach got his eyes full. Let's see if the Greene Devils get "sick" again and have to call of the make up game scheduled for next Wednesday, in the Dome. Roll Tribe Roll #14 coming @ Sullivan East Tuesday Feb. 4. Giddy Up!!! Surf, it is on tap. I would guess 6:30. That is what time D-B is playing Jeff County. SH vs WB should be a good game in JC. WB is playing some pretty good ball lately. Just barely got beat @ Maryville and killed Heritage last night. WB shocked the Hill back in the early part of the season. I saw the Hill poured it on poor SE last night. They kept the starters or most of 'em in until 2:30 to go in the game? Seems like Poe would have given his starters more rest with such a lead. Maybe he is trying to build their confidence up?

I hope to get some views on who is being deserving of "All Conference Status" if the season would end now.... I have some thoughts... Shooting Guard - Azmar Blye (DB) Getting more PTS as the season goes on up to 13ppg Post - Jarrod Wootten (DB) Same as Azmar, must average 4-5 blocks per game along with 6-7 boards Forward - Henry "Hawk" Williams (DB) 13ppg Point Guard - Lamar Odem (SH) Put in some good words for your favorite players, or those who you think should make "ALL DISTRICT 1 AAA" Giddy Up!!!

Ditto to Stokomo. I have watched Chuckey Lindholm play 4 games, twice as a Freshman against Dobyns Bennett and twice as a Soph against Dobyns Bennett. Chuckey is awesome. He can shoot outside and can dominate inside. He is a great rebounder and can bring the ball up the court as good as if not better than anyone else his size. I wish Chuckey would move to Kinsport over the summer. LOL, you don't want that do you Stokomo? Add 1 more from Kingsport...... Lamon Williams for Dobyns Bennett. No stats to speak of yet, but he got his 1st Varsity action last night and with just a little more time to get used to it, he will be a great addition to the Indians as we ready for District/Region/Sub-State and State Tournaments. DB 66-Boone 46 @ Boone. Get your RED HOTS HERE!!! D-B ROLLS ON! Azmar Blye was really hot from 3, hitting 6 of 'em, team hit 9 3's overall. Lamon Wiliams got in the game. Played the last 5 min of the 4th qtr. He scored 5 pts and got a fast break dunk just befor time expired. This kid can really help the team come Tourny time. Wooten had 12pt and 6 block shots. Blackwell scored 11 pts. D-B wins 11th in a row and continues to play solid D, holding yet another team under 60pts. **Bobby Snyder - Boone Coach (800 Victories) says..." D-B is the the best team we have played outside of Wheeler ,Ga (Arby's Classic), they have it all, an inside game and and outside game." Jeff County is Home in the Dome on Saturday @ 6:30. Giddy Up!! Cheer up Surf. It was a road game. DB had 4 players out sick. And after all, a win is a win is a #10 win in a row!! ROLL TRIBE ROLL!! TN High played slow down and did it well, actually. TN High hit some 3's to get in a position to win. FYI - Tn High played DB much tougher than SH did last Friday night. What was great was #44 Wootten took over in the 2nd half. Scored 13 of his 16 then, and his tip in to win was spectacular. I hope we get some players back tonight, but if not, I expect a win over Boone @ Boone anyway. Giddy Up!!

Lamon Williams did dress out last night. He did not get in the game, but that, hopefully will be coming soon. Lamon has been chewing up JV teams since Jan 1 and I hear he is just awesome. DB stays RED HOT!!

I love being in the driver's seat. Bring it on. We will watch tonight and see how D-B handles it. But I think they showed how they will handle it by going on the road Saturday with a big win in Roanoke. The boys are loose, and ready and wanting to play ball. I have never made an excuse for the Indians, just always been a big fan. If DB wins, great, if they loose, they will play again. There may be a bump in the road on the way to the District, maybe not. But one thing for sure, this DB team is as good or better than anydy they have played this year and that includes Maryville. New AP Poll Rankings are out. D-B is now 10th with a bullet. 3 wins this week, can't hurt that, but what will really get respect is if DB can post another win over Greeneville, next Monday 02/03/03 in the Dome. Grenneville matches up better against DB than any team I have seen this year. Roll Tribe tonight in Bristol against TN High. Throw it down #44!!

Polls make you feel good, if your listed. Make you mad if your not. And, they really mean nothing at this point in the season. I expect that allot of the Voters have not seen some or even most of the teams they are voting for. Tourny time will tell it all.

Is it really that hard to keep up with a 2 team race? That is funny stuff. Good job on the AAA rankings, I think. I have seen all of District 1 and some of District 2 but, I have not seen anybody other than Maryville in Knox area, much less Chattanooga/Cleveland area.

If this was a good SH team, maybe you worry about something like that, it's not, and this D-B team is so much better than the Toppers, no worry at all. Your living in the past. I am living in the here and now!! No way SH beats D-B, not this team. D-B gave away the 1st meeting this year, it won't happen again. D-B has learned how to be a "team", and they are looking better and better every time out. D-B withstood the SH 4th qtr run, and then poured it on. I see confidence in the D-B players, allot of it. beating Cave Spring in Roanoke Saturday night proved that this team is ready for tourny time. I don't see the same thing with the SH players. It's not going to be any different in the District. I can't wait to watch the Indians vs. Toppers again. I hope we play 2 more times, District and Region, cause - forget about it, D-B wins. D-B is senior loaded and they can all play. As for Azmar yacking it up..... good for him, he is very confident, along with the rest of the team. Now we go to Bristol. We owe Bristol. Never liked them or their fans, so we can take it to them at their place and make 'em like it!! The great thing is, they can't do anything about it. GO J WOO44!! Giddy Up!!

D-B IS ON FIRE!. Real big win Friday night @ home against Science Hill 61-51, taking back Top Dog Status in Region 1. Tonight D-B had another BIG WIN, , this one on the road in Roanoke VA against Defending AAA State Champs Cave Spring, 61-55. Cave Springs dropped down to AA this year, and is currently ranked 7th in the State of VA. Indians played catch up for the entire game, trailing 31-24 at the half. But C MO had the Indians fired up and ready for the 2nd half. D-B cut into the lead and only trailed by 2, 38-36, going into the 4th quarter. D-B dominated the 4th and won the game going away by 6, 61-55. D-B was led in balanced scoring by: Henry Williams 18 pts, Jarrod Wooten 14, Azmar Blye 14, and Seth Jervis 13. This is another big win, the Indians 9th straight. Next week schedule Tue @ Tenn High Wed @ Daniel Boone Friday home vs Jefferson County. Now it is for sure... D-B is the top team in Upper East Tenn. I hope we still get no respect from the rest of the state. That makes the Indians just work harder. D-B Indians play in Roanoke Va tonight. Next week @ Tn High (should not be much trouble at all) and then Friday night @ Daniel Boone, which is now a very big game. I had a tough time picking ArtVandalay (George's alter ego who was an Importer/Exporter and also an Architech) and CosmoKramer- the greatest ever character in TV History. I love that show. I get to see up to 4 episodes a day, if I am lucky, but I make time for 1 everyday. Giddy Up was one of Kramer's great lines. Go Indians!!

This game will happen Friday night. No postponing due to weather. Come early and get your ticket during the day. You do not want to stand in a long line in 0 - 10F temps and wind to buy a ticket. Come on Indian Fans, back the Tribe and take back OUR CONFRENCE!! Giddy Up!

Stokomo - are you a Volunteer Coach? I went to school with Mike O'neal, great guy. I ran Track and Cross Country with him. Mike was an awesome runner - you wouldn't know that if you looked at him now.... tell him I said that. Anyway.. I like Volunteer's team. You have some real talent there. I am glad that D-B played them early in the season before they really got clicking. Good luck against Betsy.... I am picking Volunteer in the upset special. Giddy Up!!
