  1. Nice to be confident...another to be overconfident. /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" /> Good luck to the Rebels and hope the game is safe and injury free. I'm not the type to boast on who I think will win so I'm not going to change now but I'm praying for my Rebels to pull through.
  2. Busy...yeah...I'm looking forward to December 6th when I can take a break. /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" /> I'm glad you enjoy it, I hope everybody that has visited has enjoyed it. I get people biting my head off when I don't upload highlight videos quickly enough, especially one person/player in particular whose name I shall not mention. /roflolk.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflolk:" border="0" alt="roflolk.gif" />
  3. Yes, that I'm aware of...all are starters are healthy and ready to play Friday night.
  4. What? Nah, I wouldn't intentionally speed up videos to deceive anybody. /roflolk.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflolk:" border="0" alt="roflolk.gif" /> Actually, during the process of converting the videos frames get dropped to make up for the lower quality that I save it in in order to cut down on the megabytes, thus why some videos look "sped up"
  5. McKenzie faces some new opponents next year. The full schedule can be view at mckenziefootball.com 08/28 - @ Martin-Westview 09/25 - HUMBOLDT 10/09 - TCA 10/23 - pending
  6. Very true. I believe many still vividly remember an itty bitty school that whipped a bigger school in the state championship. Wasn't pretty but it was definitely a humbling experience.
  7. Yeah your right, but McKenzie's 419 to Huntingdon's 382 is an astronomically high number. There's a difference between 30 kids determining whether you are classified as 1A or 2A and having a 700 kid school in the 1A classification. To be honest, I'm not really that concerned over their numbers, because fortunately Manassas doesn't have 3A caliber athletes yet since Manassas didn't become a 3A school until a year or two ago, so McKenzie isn't at a disadvantage. It was merely a note of interest, nothing more.
  8. Manassas definitely has speed on their team, they've got a good quarterback and running back but from what I saw Friday when they played Treadwell, they had no where near 60-70 players (the had around 40) and they don't have anything we haven't seen before, and Treadwell kept the game close until till the later part of the game. They've got one really really good lineman that really sticks out, #77. He's got some speed for his size and will be formidable for the Rebels. However, the defense is another story, the defense is a little slow so they might find it difficult to stop the Rebels. So basically, this game could really turn into a defensive contest because both offenses can exploit weaknesses of the defenses. The Rebels have got to come out ready to play this Friday because Manassas won't be cake walk by any means. Funny though how Manassas shouldn't even be in Class A, they've got around 700 kids but oh well, thats the TSSAA for you. Play hard Rebs.
  9. I haven't personally seen those comments from Butchie but you've got to know Butchie...you can't take him seriously on everything he says because he's quite the cut up.
  10. I agree, and I definitely know nobody from McKenzie is saying "They're going to pound these guys" because anybody with any sense knows better than to go around making those kinds of claims...fans, maybe not so much, but the fans opinions don't mean anything, all that matters is what the players and coaches do on the field. McKenzie has played Manassas before and wouldn't have any issues playing them again.
  11. However, McKenzie took all of their offensive starters out at halftime after scoring like 5 TDs in the 2nd quarter, so you're looking at McKenzie's 2nd/3rd string team playing West Carroll through the entire 2nd half and they moved the ball on West Carroll pretty good but fumbled every series they had the ball, but then again, your talking about a bunch of young kids playing West Carroll's starting defense.
  12. Huntingdon is likely going to be in the same 1A-Class 2A as us...but the thing is, while schools like Gleason and Greenfield won't likely be putting us on their schedules next year, we'll likely be having to play schools like Milan and Westview again....which if you really read into that Z plan and how the politics of the TSSAA work, it could really hurt us come playoff time.
  13. Who knows, but I have a question for you since you don't agree with the poll. Just because Ole Miss upsets Florida, does that mean Ole Miss automatically gets ranked above Florida in the poll? No. Florida was too high in the poll and Ole Miss was too low in the poll to be affected that drastically in a game that was so close. Now I'm not trying to be biased in my view, but had Union City beat McKenzie convincingly, which they didn't, they probably would be ranked above McKenzie, but both McKenzie and Union City were evenly matched so it would be hard to determine who's the clear cut better team. Also, a poll is a poll, why does anybody care? Fortunately our playoff system isn't determined by how you're ranked in the polls. Union City is going to be the Region Champ, ranked in the poll or not, they're still #1 in the region.

  15. The game was no doubt a hard fought contest between two very good teams that unfortunately had unnecessary influence from the referees calls, or lack there of. The ref definitely blew that holding call when McKinney ran in for the touchdown and they blew the pass interference at the end, which by the way was indeed an incomplete pass, I saw the game film on it and it does appear the ball comes loose when Johnson makes impact on the ground, however the defender was all over Johnson. But, this doesn't go without saying that McKenzie had it's chances to score when they got the the red zone but failed to punch it in. It was hard fought and I look forward to seeing these two play again in the playoffs. Speed certainly holds true to his name.
  16. Well now, don't let the stat fool you. McKenzie had about 3-4 holding penalties that, I may be slightly over estimating, that cost the Rebels nearly around 50-60 yards of rushing, so the Rebels could've had over 200 yards of offense and several more points on the board if the Rebels could've avoided holding Trenton so much. But also had the Rebels done a better job of catching several good passes from McKinney the game might've looked different too. But the way I look at it, stats are simply numbers and nothing more. What matters the most is who's got the most points on the board, and I'm definitely looking forward to this Friday.
  17. What makes you so sure Coach Comer changed his game plan? Unless you are some how close to the coaching staff I don't see how you would know for sure what Coach Comer was doing. Perhaps it was more of the fact that Trenton always plays McKenzie tough, maybe the fact that McKenzie had missed blocks, or perhaps it was the penalties on several of the big plays that hurt McKenzie. Needless to say, one thing didn't result in McKenzie tough game, but rather multiple reasons, including the fact that Trenton is not a bad team. Coach Comer doesn't under estimate anybody and he has a well qualified coaching staff to back him up. Him, his coaching staff, and players will be ready for Union City come Friday.
  18. That I'm aware of there is no rule against having too few men on the field but there is against having too many on the field. If you could do it, as far as I know you could play a game with 10 on the field all night.
  19. I'm going to go with McKenzie, obviously. This game will be a matter of who's defense can stop the others offense the most. With Jake Johnson coming back this week, it looks like things may pick up on offense as now Union City will have to account for 4 different runners (rather than 3) all of whom are very dangerous, and there's no film on Jake this year so nobody knows what to expect from him this Friday,
  20. Max Arnold, the backup quarterback, transferred to McKenzie this year, I believe in the summer. I think he transferred here from Humboldt
  21. It's interesting how some people on coacht tend to assume that the way fans behave on a message board is the way the players will behave on the football field, when the last time I checked, most people who chat on this board aren't quite eligible to play high school football anymore.
  22. From what I remember, the Rebels do not start playing in the 2A playoffs until next year as it's still possible, but highly unlikely, that the TSSAA may revise their new system. Jake is expected to be back hopefully mid-season. Davis I believe is expected to be back mid-season, Mort has an ankle injury I believe and I don't recall being told when he's expected to be back - all three were starters, which means the positions have been filled by our new, inexperienced players, and some veteran players have been moved to relatively unfamiliar playing positions. I've been told that with all the positions needing to be filled due to graduation and injuries from pre-season, the Rebels essentially have 5 new offensive linemen to work with. As for Max, I don't think he has a broken jaw, just had some teeth knocked out about a month ago and has been practicing and played QB in the final minutes of the Dresden game. Don't quote me 100% as I might be a little off on some details.
  23. Wow. That's really sad to hear. I wish his family, friends, and fellow teammates the best in this time of grieving.
  24. Nothing harmful in a respectable debate. On the other hand, accounting is boring, but somebody has to do it and I hear they make mega bucks. rebelgirlforever, The rebels are in a tough position. They have a couple key players down with some injuries and don't know when or if they will be back. I think the Rebels will do okay at this point, but if they don't step it up a notch from their performance at Crockett County I believe I see a couple tough games ahead. No doubt the Rebels have athletes so who knows, they may come out Friday and do a complete 180 from their previous performance. I know I'm looking forward to their game this friday at the jamboree.
  25. There's nothing to agree or disagree about, it's just the truth. While I don't like it and hate was Ole Miss is doing considering the fact that they have discontinued using the logo and are trying to distance themselves from the 'Col Rebel' mascot, they have a legal right to protect their trademarks from unauthorized use or should I say "intellectual property" again since you think that word is off the wall, despite it being an accurate legal term. Now you want to talk about paying royalties to descendants of Rebel soldiers, well, as you know that's an issue that has to be taken up with the federal government as they make the laws.
