Colton Speed continues to lead West Tennessee in rushing with almost 1300 yards.. He has also rushed for 23 td's, passed for 700 yards and 7 tds.. Union City also clinched the region championship last night and will move up in the state rankings after a Mckenzie loss.

Union City is also 7-1 and will go undefeated in the region.. ranked 10th in state

Defensive coordinator Coach Kennedy was severely injured in an explosion at the plant he works at on weekends. Details are sketchy but he was badly burned. Some of the UC players going to Memohis today to check on him

Well that's wrong.. if you knew the veer offense that well you would know that NOBODY plays their tackles in a 5 technique against it... thats what Mckenzie and Obion County did against Union City.. to eliminate Speed and make someone else win the game. I talked to Speed tonight and he was told everytime a tackle was in a 5.. there wasn't a read.. just make sure the fullback had room to cut back after handing him the ball. That's why midline was ran nearly 40 times. OC didn't get in his head at all.. he is a very tough kid.. and wouldnt back down to any of OC's players.. he was just doing what he was TOLD to do....

Union City was not suppose to come in and run wild at all.. i dont know where you got that from. Just another OC fan upset about losing to a single a team... and more than likely going 0-10.. again.

Talked to Dr. Jernigan... its true.. the tornadoes are very happy to hear this news... but he will still be out a while.. if not the season

good news.. his arm is not fractured at all.. but his elbow is dislocated..

I believe Speed is very dangerous,, but if McKenzie has done any homework at all.. their whole defensive scheme this week will be to stop him.. so i dont see a big running game for him. The other running backs will need to step up this week.

This was a very good game by both teams... I agree that something HAS to be done with UC's secondary; however, I think some poeple are panicking way to quick.. The showing friday night was HORRIBLE.. but what people are forgetting is that both of UC's safeties were playing at about 60 % percent... Nicks with a bad ankle sprain and Wilkes with a sore knee and a slightly seperated shoulder. LC probably has more athletes at WR and QB than any team in the region.. they were fast. They make the pass hard to defend because of there ability to make plays with their legs at QB. Watch LC come postseason time if they can ever get their defense working. Dont forget UC held westview to 27 points.. their "competitors" for 2nd place in their region.. jcs.. allowed 33. I'm sure the secondary will be the main focus at practice until the mckenzie game.(It needs to be). I don't believe the offense will be UC's problem this year with Speed at QB..
