  1. I don't know if I did this right but here's some small stats for Carr I don't really know why were so worried about these stats though. I definately know MtP is going to put up some numbers Friday night and I know the Rebels will put up some numbers. This is definately going to be the shootout of a lifetime. Two high octane offenses against strong defenses, looks to be good if you ask me.
  2. Oh why thank you! I appreciate that. It's hard for me to watch the game and keep the PA guy updated with the scores at the same time. Two games in West Tennessee, both Semi-Finals, both just a few minutes drive from each other...what are the odds of that /smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />
  3. Not entirely. Dad said that out of all the game film McKenzie has on Mt. Pleasant, they only passed the ball like 35 times, which is an average of 7 passes per game. By that, I would still call them fairly one dimensional. He told me the biggest threat that Mt. Pleasant has is their playing style. They eat up so much clock and allow very little time for the opposing team to get the ball. He also said MtP had the ball for 60 plays (got 31 pts) (Marco runs 42 times) against Jo Byrns who had the ball for like 20 plays (got 21 pts). Mt. Pleasant runs the ball 3 times more than Jo Byrns and only beat them by 10. If Jo Byrns could've had the ball a a few more times, they would've won. McKenzie needs to keep an eye on the clock this game too, on top Marco.
  4. From what I am aware of, these two teams match up fairly well and it will be a tough contest. McKenzie's D-Line isn't just huge in comparison to some of Mt. Pleasants O-Line but lets say this, Mt. P likes to double team players so Marco can get his running room, they will have a hard time double teaming both Reeder and Winstead. McKenzie has the speed and ability on defense to contain Marco and keep him from running huge runs however if they let him outside their containment they don't have the speed to keep up. But like I said earlier, this guy isn't Trenton's Harper, and McKenzie did fairly well containing him so I believe McKenzie can contain Marco. McKenzie's O-Line is almost the same as the D-Line, I may be wrong, but I believe I was told several of the linemen ran below a 5 in the 40 yarder, so McKenzie's linemen are quick. If a team is not very good on the pass defense, Carr will have a field day with his receivers. That is the honest truth. Also, McKenzie can get you on the run too.
  5. Mtownballer, here are pictures of the McKenzie facilities. It's located behind the Middle school which is the old High School.
  6. If you go past the bridge coming from Paris, you've gone too far. You'll take the road to the right before you ever make it to the bridge. The road is just like 30 yards from the gas station. It''ll prolly be dark by that time so once your on Hwy 22, if you know where College Drive is, just look for lights on your left in the distance. Can't miss them. They light up the sky and you can partially see the lights over the trees. MtP is going to be good, it's going to be hard fought contest for sure.
  7. Umm, I'm not entirely sure, I think the film I saw was the Fairview game from earlier in the year. Agreed!!!
  8. Lol, I don't know how the media treats MP in Middle TN, but I'll definately say McKenzie gets little respect here in West Tennessee. People in the media still tend to dog McKenzie considering for years McKenzie wasn't all that great and apparently people still haven't got out of that habit.
  9. Actually, Union City wasn't all that great. There were circumstances probably unknown to most folks surrounding that game. Trenton was a great team, not just good. Fayette Academy and TCA were really good teams that McK has faced in the recent memory. Huntingdon was a fair team this year, not a good as they traditionally are. Minus the region they are in, McKenzie always schedules the traditionally tough 2A teams. It is really indeed hard to make comparisons between teams in the Middle and West when they haven't played any familiar teams, but everybody has their good teams and bad teams and you just have to make due with what you got. As far as I know, McKenzie's starting running back has roughly somewhere around 1200 yards. Carr has over 2000 yards passing. Carr is also a scrambler, he's also the second leading rusher with 400-450 yards. Like I said, this will be good game. There's speed all around and powerful defenses, this will be a contest to see. Hopefully it will be one of the best games in the state.
  10. I certainly know Mt. Pleasant isn't a one man team, it's an eleven man team. It's going to be a hard fought contest, it is indeed the semi finals and neither team got here by just pure stroke of luck. Two Mr. Football's in this contest, Carr and Dailey, and Friday we'll see whose team has the better Mr. Football. I believe that most likely the team to strike blood first, will win. I hope to see a packed house. Edit: If you're really good on the passing game, then you might expose one of McKenzie's weaknesses. I believe TCA was probably the best passing team McKenzie has faced all year, but I may be wrong on that, it might actually have been Trenton.
  11. Of course, Marco only carried the ball 40+ times in that game, of course he's going to have some numbers. Shocked? Nah. Not anymore. I lost my ability to be shocked a long time ago. Scrimmages may count for nothing in the record books, but they do reveal weaknesses and strengths that must be tended to before regular season. But, fortunately I'll be at home this week so I can watch my Rebels since Bethel lost last night so I'll look forward to this contest.
  12. Seems like McKenzie stopped him just fine in the scrimmage last year. Marco may be good, but guess what, so is McKenzie's defense. Okay...you say Marco is better than last year, well, so is the McKenzie defense, I guess that means they both cancel out huh? Marco is no Kendal Harper by any comparison and McKenzie did a decent job against him, not great, but did okay. McKenzie will stop Marco from running around and having a field day. He may break a few here and there, but McKenzie will contain him and take the W.
  13. Definitely an underdog supporter I see. McK and South Pitt all the way.
  14. McKenzie defeated Mount Pleasant 3-1 (I think thats the correct score) in a scrimmage at the high school last year. Marco had his one touchdown run and from there on McKenzie contained him. A comparison to the best competition McKenzie has faced...Trenton. McKenzie was 3 points down with like 4 minutes on the clock. McKenzie throws an interception essentially ending a chance to win. Trenton defeated McKenzie 24-34, McKenzie could have won but Trenton made big stops on defense and McKenzie had several key dropped passes. Trenton is in the 2A State Semi-Finals.
  15. Here are pictures of the McKenzie High School football facilities.
  16. Well, not entirely. Maybe I looked at it wrong, but when one of the TCA linemen, #55 (i think) got hurt, one of our guys, I think it was Campbell, leaned over to check on him and one of the TCA players sorta pushed him away. Not entirely sportsmanlike but a very well played game with no cheap shots from what I could tell.
  17. Let me be the first to say, itsafactjack, take your mouth and open it real wide because you're eating a whole piece of crow tonight and your gonna swallow it whole, you aren't chewing it first. Our fans I thought were awesome, cheering, stomping their feet, it was great, even if it was cold. The game was really good, it was closer than the score indicates but it was a really good game. TCA is a very good and talented team and they did a great job performing tonight. Kudos to them. However, kudos to the Rebels as they take on Mt. Pleasant next friday at home.
  18. Carr and the team didn't do so well passing. He himself did okay, but with his small list of mistakes mixed with the O-line not blocking tremendously well for the pass, and receivers just having a hard time catching the ball, the passing game struggled. Carr did well scrambling and getting a few yards though, I think he had like two 10+ runs, he's definately shown he's a mobile quarterback for sure and that's what makes a quarterback dangerous. What can be more dangerous than a team that can pass, a team that can run, and a quarterback that can run when necessary? However, the running game shined, I thought.
  19. You know, I'm a big fan of comparisons even though I know they don't reflect a teams performance accurately, but judging by the way Bruceton played TCA, and how McKenzie played FA, especially defensively, I have high hopes for McKenzie. Also, I can only wonder what the outcome of the game would have been between FA and TCA had FA had their quarterback playing, I'm not so sure it still would have been a 34-7 game. Either way, I'm looking forward to this game between TCA. Bethel is at home so I'll get to see this heck of a matchup.
  20. I tell you what, I feel sorry for that referee that got run over last night. He just called here a few mins ago asking what happened to him last night. He said he didn't remember getting hit and the last thing he remembered was the paramedics shining a light in his eye. lol, he didn't even remember driving back to Memphis. But he said he had a huge knot on his head and his wife told him he was getting too old for this. Thing is though, did he ever go back into the game? I remember him being escorted to the sideline and taken to the bench but that was all I remembered. I don't think I ever saw him go back in??
  21. At the present time, 7-1A McKenzie is 26-7. 2005 - 7-4 2006 - 10-2 2007 - 8-1 (present) McKenzie will more likely finish the regular season 9-1 and at the bare minimum of 1 win in the playoffs so at the least McKenzie will finish with a 10-2 record again this year.
  22. Hey Butchie, you may have said this earlier...but are you going to the Jo Byrns/Cascade game this week? If you are, we're interested in following you there, if possible.
  23. The reason why? We have two balanced offensive weapons, you can't use them all every single play. Secondly, we have nothing to prove by beating teams with our passing game, McKenzie is starting to get more focused on the run because we are not going to be a passing team like we have the last 6-7 years, we simply don't have any quarterbacks who can take on that role just yet. Unlike the quarterback position, we have a few talented runners coming back.
  24. Hey. I was wondering if anybody knew whether or not Westview and/or Jo Byrns broadcast their games over the internet? We're stuck up here in West Virginia with Bethel and want to listen to one of these games. Anybody know the link?
  25. That was a little bit overboard Hudgins. No need for all the mouth running and pouring salt in the wounds. McKenzie did its talking on the field lastnight, let it stay that way. Let the folks from Bruceton who ran their mouth here on CoachtT hold their tongues, or fingers I should say, in shock. Move on to the next game, McK vs. Trenton.
