  1. Your right, rivalry games can go either way. But not this one. This will be a lot like the 2002 game where Blake Foster ran for 350+ yards (300 in the first half). I say Marshall and Caldwell combine for over 250 yds rushing and five TD's. Owls big!

    Ooltewah - 56

    Central - 0

the owls couldnt beat mcminn county by 60, what makes you think they can beat central by that much. if it wasnt for all of centrals turnovers, they would have beat mcminn by 20. i have seen the owls in action and they do not impress me at all.

  2. for those of u that dont know the facts about central and are talking alot of trash here you go. first of all, central isnt without 2 coaches from last year, the real coaches are still there. second, you dont know the real deal with jones, so quit trying to lay blame on everyone else. third, ootlewah fans, you couldnt win 5 games until 5 years ago, so what are thinking about? lorenzo meadows never was kicked off the football team just so you know. we have a freshman starting at qb, who is getting better everyday. bradley, the boy you have from central, keep him. oh, about benny monroe, he didnt take the job because of money, i know him personally. central does take care of their coaches very well, if you take care of your buisness. again bradley, boys basketball carries your school and football will never carry you again. have another fine 1 and 9 season. central may or may not win 6 games this year, but we will have fun taking care of buisness because that is what is tought now. ootlewah, until you have that ring on your finger, you need not say anything to anyone, because the teams you are finally starting to beat, everyone has been beating for years. get your nose out of the clouds.

  3. Don't worry we will eat some cornbread and then we will have his little friend for dessert. Het, Cornbread were are you? And how did you end up @ Chatt. Central I thought you were a Cherokee? GO TRIBE!!

hey tribe fan, how was the cornbread and his little friend? looks like u got some sour milk. just like a kentucky fan chris li, oops sorry about that, dont want anyone to know who you really are. oh, this isnt cornbread neither. glad u guys got to see some real athletes.

This is CORNBREAD, we had to scalp a few cherokee's tonight but hey, you got to do what you got to do. As for me I live in L.C., work in athens and drive to Chatt. Central on fridays, can I borrow some money for gas??????????

  4. I'll give some reasons why central will win, athletes, their all over the field. chris newby, larenzo meadows, chris patton, darrius robinson, sean mills. they can lay the helmet on some people very well. another reason, this game means a lot to a certain coach at central. he coached the senoirs that are at mcminn when they were freshman. dont let the baylor score fool you, baylor is pretty good.

  5. I don't think so! Many of their key skill people graduated this year. The same things is true of East Ridge and Cleveland! I think Hixson and Rhea may be the early front runners.

i do think so. you said they lost all their skilled players which they didnt. that is two people. they have 10 of 11 starters on defense returning and 8 of 11 on offense returning. robert woods, brent hayes, lorenzo meadows, jamel hambrick, shawn hacker, chris newby, buea weiss, and the list gos on. this is the type of things the pounders have built off of the last 2 years so you people keep talking. there will be a region championship this year.

  6. ohhhh does alcoa players love to hear what some of you guys are saying...keep it coming alcoa has always played better being the underdog and by the way Chatt central only scored ONCE on alcoa while alcoa scored 3 or 4 times.

i know for a fact that it was a tie because i was standing on the field. alcoa score a short pass from about the 5 yd line and chatt. central scored on a 40yd touchdown. again that was their first day in pads.

  7. that may be true, but what about CHatt.? What is the excuse there? And wesvols, sorry, I just figured you were another boneheaded Maryville fan. Am I saying alcoa can beat maryville? Yes, I am. Am I saying they will? No one will know until game time.

the excuse is that was the first day in pads for chatt. central. like i said before would have been eating your words if they had two weeks in pads because they score was tied. plus the all state mlb is still out with knee. again, dont say things until you know the facts. and another thing, you guys will never beat maryville so stop dreaming. the best game this coming up season will be chatt. central vs. maryville in state playoffs. good luck to the rebs, the pounders respect you guys and we hope to see you in the playoffs.

  8. People that think that Alcoa has no chance to win all ten games might want to rethink that. Alcoa went to McMinn County with a 3-way scrimmage with McMinn and Chattanooga Central, and Alcoa dominated both teams, badly enough for some fans to ask about us being a 5-A school. Offensively, Alcoa moved the ball with ease all afternoon. Joei Fiegler went 9-12 for over 250 yards for 4 Td's. Dustin Lindsey was running around, through and past the defenders. Kyrus Lankster shouwed nicely with 4 catches for 125 yards and 3 TD's. Brandon Warren also had 3 catches for 75 yards and a touchdown. The Alcoa offense looked like a machine hitting on all cylinders, they were very impressive. Defensively, they haven't missed a beat. With no Td's scored on the first team Defense, and both teams combined netted 40 yards of offense. The secondary is even faster thanlast year with Darius Sudderth (lock down corner) and Tamon Cooper. Linebackers were cmacking running backs around, when they actually got past the D-line. There's no missing link, and the defense appears better than when they had Bart Hicks. Mark Avery, Martin White, Rae Sykes, Brandon Warren, and Drew "Flames" Miller terrorized the back field.

Overall this team is better than what everyone is expecting outside of the tornado camp. Alcoa certainly didn't look like a 2-A team. This team has a chance to be the team that takes us back to Murfreesboro.

i dont know about both teams. alcoa did not dominate chatt. central. if you call that domination over chatt. central, i would hate to see what your regular season would look like. that was chatt. centrals first and only day in pads and they tied alcoa. i would have hated to see what alcoa and mcminn would have looked like if chatt. central had their two weeks in pads. i believe you might call that domination by chatt. central. you had better check into things before you write something like that.

  9. It is too early to tell who will be the best 4A team in East Tennessee. You have to factor key injuries or transfers in the situation.

Maryville should be a great team if they stay away from key injuries. Losing Cade Thompson would kill Maryville's season. Maryville had a ton of injuries in 2002 and 2003. I hope they can stay injury free in 2004.The sky is the limit for this team.I know that George Quarles was very pleased with spring practice. I know that Maryville returns 8 starters on offense and 6 on defense.

    1. Maryville

    2. Chatt Central

    3. Tie between MOWest and Knox Central

    4. Rhea County

Chatt Central will be very experienced this season. They gave Maryville all they wanted in the playoff game last season. MOWest and Central lost a bunch of great players. MOWest lost 10 starters on defense. Central loses Caseen Jackson to graduation and Lee Smith to a transfer.Several coaches left also.But. Central and MOWest will still be tough to beat. Rhea County will be better because Tim Hammontree will demand toughness.

Powell,Cleveland and Tennessee High should be tough also.

i argree with you rebelron. chatt. central is returning 10 of 11 starters on defense and 7 of 11 on offense. the defense will be very fast and love to punish people. the offense will have speed as well. they will very tough to handle. but the thing is, no matter who you are, you have to get past maryville. i think it would be an even better game this year if chatt. central and maryville play.

  10. Sounds like the purple pounders think they have gained enough to finally take down, maryville, they can keep on thinkin that though because when they meet up, if chatt. central makes it that far, they will know that they shouldnt even be in the same league with maryville.

from a personal stand point, i seen the look on the rebels faces when the pounders were warming up because i was on the field. i dont think maryville has ever been hit like that before and dominated on paper. i know the score board does the talking, but dont think if maryville faces the pounders this coming season that it will be like last year. 1 person gone of defense and tremendous speed on offense. the defense will be, i dont know how to describe it, great!! it is pretty sad when the home team is the intemidated one because that is what it looked like to me. no disrespect, maryville is the team you have to beat, but every year you guys get on here and talk like you are gods. that you are not, but i guess that is what these boards are for, right?

  11. Football4doc you obviously don't know anything about football coaches and what it takes to be successful. I am a big fan of coach Mullinax and his style he is a winner and is loyal to his players. He comes from the old school which is not necessarly a bad thing but it was time for him to retire it was time for him personally and it was time for the school to have a change. I wish coach Mullinax the best of luck @ his new challange in Georgia.

Now for coach Hutchins he is one of the up and coming young coaches that is doing a great job. He took a McMinn team that was average and made them into a good solid football team. His style was very different from coach Mullinax. Things were more efficient from a practice and preparation standpoint and the communication between the coaches and players was good. Coach Mullinax did almost all of the coaching on both sides of the ball where Hutchins got his assistants much more involved. Who knows which style is best all I know is that both styles work and both coaches are good people and good football coaches.

the reason mullinax did all the coaching was because the coaching wasnt that good. hutchins should not even be listed because the guy stayed one year. i dont care where he lives, he should not have applied for the job at mcminn if he knew he wasnt going to stay more than one year.

  12. 1) Quarls - Maryville

    2) Meadows - William Blount

    3) Clark - DB

    4) Hutchins - South Doyle

who are you? where do you get this stuff about hutchins being this great coach? my grandmother could have took over the mcminn team this past season and won. just please tell me who you are because the guy wasnt that good. you will find out how good he is when he goes to south doyle and loses every year. i know alot of players from mcminn that, never mind. anyway, just because you know him dosnt mean he is god because he is not. if he would have stayed for 10 years he would not have even compared to what coach mullinax did. he was the man. thats why hutchins left because he knew they were not going to that good and he couldnt do with them what mullinax could have done with a team that didnt look good.

  13. Records and past games don't decide who wins. The Clinton Dragons will bring it on to the Bears and if the pickle is dill or sweet it doesn't matter. This team has played since the first second of the district tourney like a team never seen before. It has been flat amazing.

it matters if you havnt seen anything like bradley.

  14. from all the games i seen bradley play this year, no contest. i seen Clinton play 2 times against mcminn and gave up 43 points to one player that they couldnt guard. now we are talking about 5 starters with ability and 2 or 3 bench players on top of that. Clinton does not have the players to match up man for man and they have a smothering defense on top of that. Clinton is to slow with the exception of the two guards, i think one of their brothers play at pitt. he is pretty good. cant guard all five starters on bradleys team. good turn around for Clinton though.

  15. first of all, jajuan is going d-1 because he is that good. second of all, tonight against rhea, he had 4 fouls in the 1st quarter. the coach pulled him the whole second quarter and they couldnt do anything against rhea. jajuan came out the second half and led the team to victory scoring 39 points. if you dont think that is a leader or a team guy, your crazy. he is very talented and is d-1 material whether you want to accept that or not. to have a player like him is special and he is a special player. people dont like him because he is good and without him, the team dosnt win the games they won this year or the last 4 years. so dont hate the guy because he is good and leads his team in scoring, because one day you will be cheering him on when watching him on t.v.. by the way, as for kellen, he is good to and i think mtsu should offer him.

  16. That is awesome i didnt know we had a lebron james from mcminn county. i wonder when espn will come do some games at mcminn county. Oh wait nevermind, there not going to becuase nobody has ever done that. He might have had 2000 points if he would have made all of his 50 shots a game. Mcminn isnt to far from Meigs county. Just becuase you have a walmart doesnt make you a big city.

i said to the post before i didnt know what i was saying when i said that. it was 4 years. second, i dont live in mcminn county.

  17. Going from a 13 to a 20 may not give him a choice but to either take the test again or go to a prep school. Athletes or normal students sho make so low as a 13 can not bring it up to a 20. Believe me if he signs with a NCAA school there will be a lot of questions and reports. He needs to just go ahead and take it again.

By the way, he does have support. Look at the games this year and I think you will find that Jujuan was the one who missed the last second shots. missed the foul shots, shot 15 percent from the field in the big games in the district. It was not his teammates,

then i guess all the other d-1 college players are rocket scientists. the guy is smart no if, ands, or buts about it. just except that just like everybody else has to. i dont see boston college or pitt., or anybody else worrying about it, so you shouldnt either. he is the man, the best athelete around here, that includes bradley, Cleveland, or rhea.

  18. Thinking jujuan smith should be 40 or below isnt talking smack. Jajuan has other teammates as well like maurice smith. I dont think jajuan will be making much of a differences at Cleveland state. I dont understand why D-1 school would be talking to a 6'3 kid from a team with a losing season. He doesnt have outstanding numbers. Robbie Cornelius and Matt Smith from Meigs county are putting up some numbers that are equal to jajuan smith.

keep living your little dreams in the woods in meigs county. reality says jajuan is better than any body that ever came from there. you just dont have a clue what he could do for a college team. he could make meigs 10 times better than they are now. teams dont look at team performances, they look at individual. as for his numbers, you dont score almost 2000 points in a season and not have good numbers.
