  1. I don't either remember having black stuff on my face, but I do remember being underground under that floor and hearing everything above when the girls played ball. It was a classic gym and it was pretty old from what I remember... Also, Hermitage Spring's gym was a classic.... "the pit".... reminded me of an arena....
  2. This situation is really interesting...is the coach not making those 3 guys sit out any games...i don't really have a problem with the 3 coming back, however, it could present problems: 1) From a bird's eye view, it seems that winning is continuing to take precedent over ethics in Ezell's program. 2)Ezell's coach has basically shown how they got to the past state championships: Athletic Ability and definitely not coaching. 3). Ezell's players basically have control, not the coach. 4)This now could complicate Ezell's policy of admitting their athletes to play midway through the season...now you could have someone who wants to come and play (who is not a superstar) midway through the season- What do you tell him..."NO, I am sorry, you are not athletic and talented enough to come in the middle of the season and play."?........There is a time in HS bball when the coach has to stink it up and let nature take its course, its what we like to call a "rebuilding" year. NOw the EHCS coach has opened a whole new bag of worms, I just hope it doesn't come back to bite him in the butt.
  3. Lebron deserves every bit of that hummer...he has been exploited by a lot of people...he obviously is a number one draft pick and he deserves the hummer...as far as his parents worrying about him wrecking it...who cares, they can buy a new one! By the way, McGahee's 2.5 million policy is probably going to be void because he is declaring for the draft, unless 6 days into training camp he decides his knee will never be better...then he can quit football and take his 2.5 million and go home... BTW, Gomab, Terry Cole said for me to contact you about an intermural team, so if you can email me at socrdave@aol.com
  4. Looks like Watertown has brought itself back to the position it was in 4 years ago...a district contender...i talked to a former player b4 the season that said H20town was stacked, and knockin off Westmoreland made me a believer. Although I will say this, you take any of the top five in last years district(Westmoreland, FCS, VBHS, TCHS, and MJCA) and they would run away easily with this year's district and region title.
  5. That guys game was pretty close I guess, definitely closer than the 20 point blowout prediction...I actually think G'ville's young talent might surprise some teams just like they did last year in the district tourney...
  6. Hey dipity, With most of the top teams in 8a losing a lot of seniors, won't you have a shot at a district title this year...who are going to be the top contenders in this seemingly wide-open district?
  7. Has NCS picked up anyone new this year...do they still have the tall shaved head kid from last year?...I must say that I am pretty shocked about NCS, even if their coach is Coach Anderson...I guess thats even more of a testament to him, though. Maybe he will bring some life into that gym as well, I must say that was the most boring gym atmosphere I have ever played in or experienced.
  8. I definitely agree about the drop off of single A ball...just look at Pickett County, DCA, Westmoreland, South Fulton, Ezell and so many other teams that lost talent...and whenever a big class leaves single A ball it is a lot tougher to rebuild than at a 2a, 3a, or div 2 program; just because there is not a whole lot of people in the schools to get more players...and I also agree with your statement about the equality amongst many of the single A districts, it should be a very interesting season, especially come February...
  9. Is it just me, or was last years senior class better than this year's?...it seems like a lot of schools lost a lot of talent and are rebuilding due to the graduating of last years class...It just seems like there was a lot more talent in last years class than this year's senior class...this is not a cut at some of this year's top Senior players, i am just saying that as a whole the 2002 group was a very strong class that any following class would have trouble competing with....thoughts on that?
  10. I think Celina will be a major threat in district 7-a and even in the region...they definitely have some good potential and I am glad to see them doing so well...maybe they will be back to the celina bulldogs of old?
  11. Who does Westmoreland have this year since their 3 big dog guards graduated last year??? Will they be a district 8-A or regional contender again...?
  12. Look, I don't know why you are getting so defensive about this...my only question was "WHY ISN'T COLLEGE HEIGHTS IN TSSAA?"...if you can't answer that then stop posting defensive messages...i am not gonna say anything else cuz it seems like you are getting your panties in too big of a bunch...if you like College Heights so much then fork out the 4 g's to have your son go play there, but please, stop whining
  13. Thanks for the feedback...I know that they couldn't go single A cuz Coach John Price recruits, but they can always go d2. But my question was not about their record or even about their coach, but about why they aren't in tssaa. I already said that their coach is a good recruiter, but his team was nothing until to the past two years when he recruited. And I have heard even from his own former players that he does recruit...and about being one of the best around....i had some friends go watch the tourney and said that they would give a lot of single a premier teams a run for their money, and if they beat friendship this year then they must be pretty good, although i don't know how well they would match up against other d2 schools that recruit...i mean, give scholarships.
  14. Can anyone affiliated with College Heights Christian tell me the reason why they are not in TSSAA. I have heard from a number of people that they have had great talent the past two years. Is it because of the school or are they affiliated with a church that doesn't want them to be in the league. I have heard that they have some awesome new players this year. I have heard the basketball coach is an awesome recruiter... I remember around 5 or so years ago they had a pretty good coach. But if the issue is that they recruit players, they could still be in TSSAA div. 2, ya know? I just don't get how such an awesome team would be playing in a well below average christian school league. I know that they play teams in TSSAA but comments about them being one of the best teams are void because they are not in the league...is it in the works or what??? Thanks to anyone who knows anything about the subject [Edited by ballplaya32 on 11-26-02 10:18A]
