Not that it really matters, but for the record: CCHS played Franklin High not Franklin County- *The last game was in the very beginning of December and CCHS won 80-77. The paper had last nights game as 91-64. But it doesn't really matter. I was just making a point that Columbia didn't manhandle Franklin High, but Franklin has also improved.

Way to go Nikki. Great job & Congratulations !! Now let's finish up the season with a bang!!

Congratulations to Franklin's Nikki Barney who hit her 1,000th career point tonight against Williamson County and District rival- Centennial!!!!!!! Way to go #14!!!!

Correction: For whatever reason, Spring Hill has decided to cancel the game that was set for tonight. Better yet (I say sarcastically), they have rescheduled it for February 14th- Valentines Day- So for any Rebel or basketball fans, the Spring Hill/Franklin game has been postponed. . .

I love Holly Hudson- she's a great shooter and a really cool person- down to earth and such. To put another name out there, Kelly Smithson from Hickman is a great shooter- especially from behind the arch. She is up there in the top 3-pointers made. . . I think.

As of this morning, the Franklin/Spring Hill game at Spring Hill will be played as scheduled- Girls Tip @ 6:00. The teams both agree that with this late in the season, it is too difficult to reschedule a district matchup. If something happens and we don't play tonight, I'll inform those who care.

Seeing that I have played against Brentwood for about 7 years now, I can only imagine that BHS drills Hillsboro, taking out their anger on the Burros. But Hillsboro cannot be overlooked. I say the advantage goes to Brentwood even more because they are playing at Brentwood.

Franklin High School is starting one senior (N. Barney), one junior (J. Roberts) and three sophomores (C. Adams, T. Holland, K. Harrison). The senior is one of three, but she is the only one who will truely be missed. The rest of the bench consists of a handful of Sophomores who went undefeated last year in their freshman league and won the City Championship. We have about 3 juniors (J. Roberts, K. Bailey, and J. Hopkins) and also 3 solid freshman who will move up next year!

In the Franklin High Girls schedule, Overton isn't listed as a district game, along with Hillsboro I believe- Our true 11-AAA district record is 4-4 with wins against Hillwood (2), Spring Hill, and Ravenwood; losses against Overton, Brentwood, Hickman, and Hillsboro. Thanks CoachT for all you do!

No offense to anyone who has posted on here - but what you guys say will not determine the outcome of this district or the next Franklin/Brentwood game. Talking and arguing about things like this is like arguing about Shelbyville and recruiting. The only people who can make a difference in this game is the Brentwood girls and the Franklin girls. No one is to say how the next game will be (Jan. 30 @ FHS) or how the next few years will be. Good Luck Lady Bruins, see ya at the end of the Month.

In the Franklin/HCHS game, #15, who I believe is Matt Dotson tried a dunk and missed- he looked rather dumb going up and missing it- maybe the dunk should only be used when you are up by a lot, instead of down 5-10 as HCHS was at the time.

If she got up, she should have been called for a walk!

My suggestion would to be more patient, having over 30 turnovers in two different games seems like the gaurd play is really anxious and too willing to give up the ball, possibly because of lack of game experience and not use to the game speed. They need to not to be in such a panic, I guess- but what do I know? :justwrestle: Good Luck Page! (Except on Jan. 5th:) )

whoa now- i wasn't trying to start anything. My point was agreeable to what sidetrain had said. I have no idea what goes on in the gym at Shelbyville. But I do know that Insell has a lot of help, therefore; I have NO IDEA how much coaching he really does. Now, Don't go dogging Pat Summitt- she is ALLOWED to get good talent, NCAA allows recruiting, but TSSAA doesn't. But aside from that, I give all my props to Shelbyville. They are amazing, I saw them play last year. But they were/are overrated. (Not having Alex right now doesn't help.) I know they will probably end up in M-boro again, I would be disappointed if they don't. I just don't agree with them getting so much Media at the age of 17, and I do think that has something to do with their 5 losses. Good Luck Eaglettes, as we all love to hate you, but have the utmost respect for your talent!! Sorry if I ruffled anyones feathers, but it is just an opinion, I'm allowed to have one, right?

in regards to Sidetrain's quote "So how good of a coach is Insell? This season could tel it. Does he just coach the big names or the Team?" As I have thought all along, Insell is a great smooth talker and recruiter, but doesn't have the coaching ability everyone, including NIKE, makes him out to have. In my opinion that is. . . .

if i recall correctly, I think brentwood #1 is their manager, squirrel, who talks trash all the time and makes his team look really bad. So don't listen to a thing he says because he told the trainers both brentwood/franklin games how bad they were going to beat franklin and for the playoff game he asked who would be helping the team hang up the equipment monday. He's full of trash talk and i find it funny he even has the guts to post anymore after what some Brentwood football guys told him on a pregame BHS/FHS board. and by the way Brentwood#1, in reference to your BHS 59, FHS 1 there is no possible way a team can score one single point in football, only 2 and up. Good try though

PageMan, those stats are right on as far as I can tell. I don't know what is going on w/ the Tennessean. It is strange that they have left CCHS out more than once even after being called in. This is only Franklin's second time being left out and the 1st time was at Page and I think Coach Barnwell didn't remember to call it in. Lion's Den, Franklin has the number, and when you come to FHS, we'll call it in. But we were told, as FuryCoach said, to only call if the game is at your place. I have called the games in for 3 years and I have never called for an away game. I would definitly persue why CCHS's scores haven't been in the paper after being called in. . . . Franklin plays at home Friday night vs. District Match Hillsboro tip-off at 6:00, boys game follows!

You gotta admit though, Fromthetop- Franklin has lost 2 years in a row in the playoffs to the eventual state champions. Kinda ironic right? CONGRATS GERMANTOWN! Eventhough your QB's knee took my boyfriend out of the game, haha! #2 is quite a player!!!!!!! And good luck next year as you will be wearing the massive target BHS had this year!

Gotta agree w/ FHSReb, it was so nice getting revenge towards Brentwood. Incase no one else realized, we were 11-2 last year, and the only team Franklin lost to was Brentwood. Well.... we did the same thing to them- the only 2 losses they had this year were to FHS Rebels! Wahoo! The OT Thriller will go down in the history books for me though.

RebSoftball and FHSreb27 - - - VERY interested in the decorating! I have to be with the team at around . . . Two? I don't know yet, but please Reb1, call me and lemme know what is up- I'd love to help what little way that I can, if anything, we can lend ya some tape! haha I'm all about decorations for these hard workin' fellas!

Thanks FHSReb- We won about 56-36 if I recall correctly. I know it was by 20 points even. I am not sure how many field goals Ravenwood had, but more than 1/2 of their points came off free-throws. Hopefully Franklin (we) can chill down the foul situation before we play BGA tomorrow. . . that is definately a team I don't wanna get into a Free-Throw shooting contest with! Evidentially there has been some misunderstanding from something that was posted on CoachT earlier this month, a pre-season WilCo ranking. I want to extend my apologies to the Page Girls basketball team because I didn't mean for it to be taken as a "dis". I want you girls to know that I respect you guys so much. You have so much fun when you play and I admire that attribute from your team. I didn't mean for the rankings to be rude or some kind of motivation - I thought I was clearing that up when I said "But I guess this is why we play the games" at the bottom of my post. WilCo Rankings don't even matter because we don't all play eachother, right? You guys have a great team, and will have a great season. I didn't mean to take anything away from you guys or your coach or your fans. In my opinion, between Franklin and Page (and Fairview)- we are the closest inter-county schools as far as -- -- we scrimmage eachother all the time and see eachother a lot because of the connection between our coaches.
