Great Job Warriors................Also Good hustlle by Jolly, and Brown at point..............great work by Qualls inside....... Good step in by Taylor to round out the Warriors attack on the boards after Cloyd went down in the 2nd quarter with minor knee strain....... The Warriors really stepped up as a team for the home folks and gave us a win to open the Home season. Look forward to more of the same in the upcoming games. These boys are ready to play and win.......................Great Job by Mitchell, Crain and Narramore, in preparing and leading the Warriors.........................

Dont let the games in Crossville this past weekend fool you.................the Warriors are much better than they played on Friday or Saturday night..............with their big men on the bench for most of the second half of the Kingston game, the team managed their first victory of the season, and gained some needed sophmore experience in the mean time. No doubt the contest will be the usual rival game between Sparta & Crossville. Go WARRIORS.................

Games are broadcast on WSMT FM 105.5-The Rock Dawg or WSMT AM-1050. The station is in middle of being bought out and moved, so we have to check both locations.

How about the contest with Kingston tonight? With the Warriors coming off a hearbreaking loss last night, how will they do tonight?

Given the fact of only two players (England and Gribble) had double figures and the next scorers with 7 each in the Cookeville contest, the team work and playing in the Warren game would have changed the outcome greatly. Warriors need more unselfish play, like the Warren contest. Once all the boys get healthy and back on their feet, we will see what this team is really made of. Great job Warriors and Coaches on your win Tuesday night. The hard work over the summer is finally paying off. It was great to see a team play the game as a team. If the Warriors keep the team attitude and play with heart, the district will not be over looking the Warriors, like they once did. It is pretty obvious to me that some people have way too much free time on their hands...... It is also obvious to me that the majority of the posts on this site are intended to tear down the teams and coaches rather than build them up...... How about attending a practice session and watching the boys work, or at least watching a game with a "fair-opinion-eye".....You may be suprised at what you see..... Coach Slatten can only do with what he has to work with... and right now, the team is performing the best they can.....and the last time I noticed a game, the coaches still sit on the bench and are not allowed to play....This means the boys have to perform on the floor.... NO they are not the State Championship Teams of 98 & 99... but then, we didnt have many of those teams before that time either......now did we?????? Sparta Warriors.....Keep your heads up and keep working....WE are behind you 100%......Good Job Slatten & Dotson....GO WARRIORS........

Congrats to the Cookeville teams. Better games than anyone expected.. Cookeville took 4 games from Sparta last night. Taking care of the ball and missed scoring opportunities cost Sparta these wins down the stretch. Whats up with Paul "Moe" Copley...is he going to follow the White Co. squad this year? Sparta JV Boys continue to progress...Ball control, smart passes, and taking advantage of scoring opportunities will provide wins for the squads. Good Job Coach Dodson!!!! Keep up the good work and encouragement for the boys........ Look out when Cookeville comes to Sparta the end of January..... Now lets focus on Livingston......Go Warriors & Warriorettes.....

Thanks FasterEddie......Not my intention at all to imply that the State Champion teams "just sat around" & collected the gold. I was reminding 85Warrior that not every team has the talent that existed on those teams. Just a reminder that we should get off of Slatten and Dodson long enough and let them develop their teams with what they have and not be "spoiled with the success of the past". My intended statement was for the fans who are complaining about the start of the season, and those who dont know how much work goes into just getting ready for a game, much less winning a state title. Go Warriors & Warriorettes.....

Hey all: Lets talk about the Sparta boys JV Team. 2-0.!!!! Wins over Crossville by 8 and Upperman by 34!!!!.... .. Looking Good for the future of the White County BB program. Now we won't have to wait for the 8th grade team to come, just wait till late in this season or early next year for this bunch to get its final touches. Coach's Slatten & Dodson are doing a GREAT JOB...!!! Lets get behind the boys and make the program better with a positive note sometime...........GO WARRIORS beat Cookeville Hey 85WARRIOR.... I too have been watching WCBB for 25+ years.....We have not always been on top of the pile....Could it be that we are spoiled with Back-to-Back titles and have forgotten what it is like to WORK to be the best....????..HMMMMMMMM......
