  2. Every one knows there are several 14u and 16u teams in middle Tn. What has happen to the 18u and 18gold teams. Does anyone know how many there are and the names of them, These 18u girls really have a hard time finding local teams. Maybe If someone can post a list of them, It may help some of these girls find a team, There are a lot of great 18u players without teams.

    Pitching

There is always talk about best pitchers, I would like to know your what you thoughts about bullet pitcher and junk ball pitcher, Can they be in the same bracket, I belive each can be called best pitcher in a given time, . Your thoughts please..
  4. A great catcher always makes their pitcher look good. I think the catcher at station Camp [ Danie Sanders ] needs to be watched. Danie is a Jr. She played for me this past summer, Has A pop time of 1.72 and a bat average for the summer of 575, Plus plays a awesome out field. Had a bat average at the world series in Florida of 700. Everyone knows a catcher is never in the spot light. This is why It takes a certian person to be a great catcher. They have to be humble,. tuff and very smart about the game.
  5. The Mustang team you guys are talking about. If it is Jay Toneys team, He has had a shake up in his team to, Plus, his daughter is playing 18 gold, I think,
  6. I coached in the 16u bracket last year. To the best of my memory. There was about 8/9 local 16u teams break up. I think it is a little early to really know who will be the strong teams for 2010. There is a lot of 16u team being put together from thoses teams. So i guess the cards are being shuffled.
  7. I think the middle schools have to be tssaa sanction before they have to move the 43ft. Some leagues havent decided on moving them back to 43ft as of yet.

    Dead period

If this sisuation was to happen, does the player have to sit a game during the season if there is a penalty.

  11. Catchmom sounds like you are on top of things and know what some of these kids are going through. There are lots of reason some of the kids want to go out of zone.
  12. I know you DD is very good, The team is good, But there is politics in every sport and in every school, Beating some one out when politics are allowed is impossible. I had daughters going to beech in the 80s. The politics was there then like every school out there, If a person don't see it, There are either a part of it or just blind.. I never said you played it. I am just saying it is there. Talk about old school, I am older than the dirt the school was built on, ha ha ha . This should be some good ammmo, ha ha ha . I have people every where that don;t like me because I tell it like i see and know how it is,, /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" /> . Now this is fun..
  13. If this who I think it is,, you already know the answer. Also you know her parents dont play politics. You also know how much politics is in the top teams or team... beech alread had a catcher , so why should she sit for 3 years, I know this will get the talk started, WOW,, /tongue.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":P" border="0" alt="tongue.gif" />
  14. Danie sanders, Catcher Station Camp.. 1.79 pop time, This girl is will to do what it takes to help her team..

    Catchers

Catch783 you are right,,If you are on a good or bad team, your persional stats is what important to college coaches. Being on a winning team will get you more looks, but you better be able to play as good as that team made you look. There are lots of good catchers over looked because of the school stats. A lot of parents are learning to keep their own stats for their child. Play hard ladies , proud of all of you.. /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />
  16. You might try Pam Seymore in springfield Tn.
  17. My thought is, No matter if you have a travel team or a high schhol, You need to become a organization. To make any organization successfull everyone has to do their part. Coaches have to coach 100%, parents have to do their part 100%, and the players have to give 100%. Eash has to let the other do their part. The worst thing that can happen to a organiztion is politics and the people that allow it in a sport. /dry.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=" . I maybe off the subject but I thought I would throw this in here,

    Catchers

In most college , the coach calls the pitches, I do think it is a great thing for a catcher to learn how to call pitches when they are younger, Then they will know why and understand why certian pitches are called if they move on to college. Learning how to call pitches takes a lot of work on how to read a batter or the sisuation and where the runners are, Study hard ladies, it will help you later on. /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />
  19. Yep, thats right,, but to cover theriselves, they will say its a judgememt call and I have better view than you do.. As we all know, if you argue to much. It only gets worse. /dry.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=" . Let um play.. /popcorneater.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":popcorneater:" border="0" alt="popcorneater.gif" />

    Catchers

Now this is a huge pat on the back,, Great job girl.. /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />
  21. I understand what we are talking about,, What in am trying to say is,, That most umpire cant see the ball when this does happen because of reasons,, So to cover theirselves,, They will say its a judgement call, Us old people have a hard saying what we want to say or explaning things. ha ha /// Life is good.Lets go enjoy the games// /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" />
  22. I have not umpired for several years, but I do know that call can be hard to make sometimes, Things happen so fast at that time, The upm has to make his best judgement call. Also some upm do not set up behind the catcher in the right slot to really see. Plus some catcher get so close up under the batter it is hard to really see to make the call, It is really hard to argure a judgement call in this situation. As a coach , we do have a different view of things because we are sitting at a different angel. Lets go play ball,, enjoy the day. /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />

    Catchers

Everyone knows catchers are the heros that never get the attention they deserve. I think we need to give the attention they derserve by posting the names of the ones that are doing their jobs not just to bragg on one . Every one loves a pat on the back. I know there are plenty of them. /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" /> Danie Sanders [ Station Camp] Emlie Nichols [ White House] Erica Duke [ UTM ]

    Live or dead

Riverdale man lets see can get this one or who has read the rule on this. Runners are on first and third, the pitcher has the ball inside the pitchers circle. She makes a motion to throw to first, but still is inside of the circle. When she makes the motion to throw first. Does the ball become alive when she makes the motion or stay dead. And can the runner at third steal home when she makes the motion. /dry.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="
