  8. Let's be frank here. Nothing was said about this several years ago when the private schools were getting beat. Now that they have had a winning streak it is an issue. Now let me address the reason that Boyd and other Chattanooga schools are getting so many more athletes. The public school system has been plagued with problems for years. When school consolidation votes were beaten the city decided that they would just get out of the school business. This forced the county to provide public education. The county became one big system in 1997. Things have gone down hill ever since then. Folks have turned to the private schools. Recruiting is the school approaching the player and offering something in return for playing. What happens in Chattanooga is that parents seek education options for their kids and are willing and able to pay tuition. As long as there is no quid pro quo from the school it is NOT recruiting. Old data on Chattanooga schools if you are interested. http://www.chattanooga.net/metrocouncil/in...s/enrlstat.html
  9. So they ignore the TSSAA sportsmanship admonishment that is read over the loud speaker before all TSSAA games. In case you haven't heard: http://tssaa.org/Sports/Football/Instructions/pregame.htm
  10. I guess my reply was too big. Ahhh
  11. I was at the game and Boyd Buchanan did receive several penalties for late hits. They were all very late in the game and were, in my opinion, the result of poor officiating. There were a number of late hits and last second shoving by G'ville players during the game and the officials merely told the G'ville players to settle down. No Flag. Even good kids can only take so much before they retaliate. Boyd Buchanan players were worng and deserved the penalties. However, had G'ville been flagged when they deserved it, I suspect that the Boyd Buchanan players would not have felt the need to retaliate. It is an unfair assessment to say that Boyd Buchanan played dirty based on these late calls.
