  1. B22 The runner interference in the Greenbrier game was a non-issue. The problem was the way the temporary fence was set up. Since they only ran the fence to the foul line, any ball that hits fair but hooks foul and rolls past the fence in foul territory is a ground rule double. Since the runner interferred with started on first base, by rule on the ground rule double, she could only advance to third base. As much as I hate to do it (and this may be the only time in my life that this happens), I'm forced to take the side of the umps on their ruling, even though it cost us the winning run. By the way, the same thing happened to us again on Tuesday. Something needs to be done to make sure tournament games are played on properly set up fields. Ally- Hume-Fogg vs. Greenbrier is at 4:30
  2. Hume-Fogg 10 Springfield 0 Guess we are waiting on Macon Cty vs Station Camp!
  3. When will they play this rainout game. It should be a great one to watch.
  4. To the girls on the Dickson County Softball team: Congratulations on a well played and hard fought Waverly Classic. You have a very solid team and should have an excellent year. To an un-named Dickson player: I have a great deal of respect for you and your apology was whole-heartily accepted. To the Majority of the Dickson County fans: Good job, you were behind your team all the way. To a few vulgar Dickson County fans: You know who you are, I hope someone reads this to you, as you would probably have trouble with some of the bigger words such as "girls" or "the". You embarassed your team, your school and your community. Since when is it appropriate to shout obscenities to High School softball players. You crossed way over the line. If you ever have a daughter, God Forbid, I hope someone talks to her like you talked to the opposing players tonight. Come on folks, be a fan, pull for your team, even holler at Umpires if you want, but don't be abusive and degrading to teenage girls. It does not make you a bigger man, only a pitiful excuse as a human, and a big waste of oxygen.
  5. Congratulations to both teams for an exciting game. It had everything a fastpitch game should have; good pitching, better hitting, and a game in doubt until the very last pitch. Looking forward to seeing the rematch.
  6. I just saw the score. It must have been a great game. Good job BA and way to go Shelby!
  7. Hey Blondie, you have Beech, Lebanon, and Overton in your pool. Call me if you want the rest of the teams. Good Luck! See you there Friday night. Good job on the spelling this time.

I know Greenbrier is the defending State Champion, but does Lipscomb have enough help behind Megan to dethrone them this year? Who does Greenbrier have back?
  9. The problem is that softball is now buried in a "basketball" forum where people don't know to look for it. Maybe it will pick up some steam as people start finding it.
  10. Hume-Fogg did lose 4 very valuable players, but they have players coming up who can contribute immediately. Sally Dye (not Boyce) will be a team leader after sitting out a transfer year. Several freshman with travel and middle school experience will be coming in, E. Brooke Heriges, Taylor Childress and Ashley Arnold. Others from this years team will be counted on to step their game up a notch. As for the East Lit situation, we'll just have to see how that plays out. They will still be a force, but just like all but 4 teams, the battle cry is "just wait till next year!"

  12. Watchoutyall, thanks for the interest, games are scheduled for 4/8, 4:30 at Lipscomb and 4/17, 4:30 at Buena Vista Park, behind the Looby Center in Metrocenter. We invite you and anyone else to come see what should be two great district matchups!
