Melrose wins this Title hands down i watched them get down by 12-13 points in the region semi to a very good and hot shooting Southwind team and what did they do.... Blew by em QUICKLY. Then turned around and beat the best player in the state team(white station which is a good team who i watched pull out a tough win over a great ridgeway team) by 23. Melrose is Legit and know doubt in my mind the best team in any classification in TN. which equals AAA champs this year and most likely next as well! But if they DO slip on a banana peel(which i dont see happening but wldnt shock) i think itll be lil joe jackson's in the title game!

well u have a point volmania.. fulton has won the past two titles and hands down have the best ball player in AA ball this season in Jalen Steele but i still think Bolivar is the team of the decade in my opinion with fulton right up there . But i jus think bolivars best teams were better than fultons this past decade. just for the record Liberty probably would be the team of the decade had they not opened in 2004 and/or moved up to AAA for a year. and hands down their 2007 squad alone wld PROBABLY beat the best squads bolivar or fulton could assemble over the decade

U are exactly rite bout libertys 2007 squad they were ABSOLUTELY SICK NASTY(lol) with Mr Basketball Jewuan Long His twin brother Antwan, Lil 5'3 Anthony Sampson, North florida signee Devon Jones, and Mtsu signee and state tourney MVP josh Sain. they were loaded and the best team maybe ever in AA history! heck they shld have beat Oak Hill at Oak Hill that year! This years Liberty is going to be a tough out i know that much i think them or bolivar can beat fulton. I think bolivar is Gonna win State tho but im kinda pullin for liberty because TJ(who was the only freshman wit playing time on the 2007 squad) is a good buddy of mine and ive watched him develop from the 8th grade! even havin graduated from JCM i hate for liberty to win at the same time!

yeah they won one before chism came his senior year after transferring form jackson southside then won with him and willie kemp dominating! and the reason i said best teams of the past decasde is because they have them 2 back to back state titles in 2004 n 2005 and they went to the state tourney 7 times in the decade and made at least sub state almost every years of the ten year decade!

Wow what a field look at the teams and players in the field 2 time defending state champs Fulton (29-2) with stud senior guard Jalen Steele back to defend against The best team in the last decade in AA ball Bolivar Central (29-4) with senior Guards Jay Murphy and Ricky Tisdale in the best backcourt in AA The team that won the previous 2 AA titles before moving to AAA in 2008 Liberty Tech (26-8) led by A very Underrated senior post in Tarius Johnson(TJ) whos gna end up at either Georgia or Miss St. Howard (26-4)& Tyner Academy (24-6) too tough teams from the same district(6)that play hard Maplewood (22-7) who has won like 15 of their last 16 games and Marshall County (26-5) with their junior stud Pg Kedren Johnson highly rated Carter (23-10) with theri own junior stud in post Lester Wilson! With the way i see Melrose easing along and winning AAA and i dnt know much about A ball this year This is hands down the best field of all three classifications and this should be a good one! Think about it the past 6 AA championships have come from (bolivar,Liberty, and Fulton) and All the Mr Basketball finalists are in the field with fulton's steele, Marshall county's Johnson, and Carter's Wilson.!!! I cant wiat to watch some BALL in the Boro next week!

its no way in the world ripley beats liberty unless liberty has a horrible game. kendall anthony 5'9 pg corderio williams 5'10 sg deandre barnett 6'4 F and Tarius johnson 6'4 F(who is underrated i must add since ive seen him on multiple occasions go toe to toe with casey prather from north side and win most of their battles) alone are tooo much for ripley they can shoot they all can shoot the three and are very aggressive rebounding the ball but what really breaks teams down is their defense its stellar especially when they full court press. and the have a scrappy bunch off the bench.. Ripley better bring their A game or it could get ugly

I went and watched Liberty and Raleigh egypt play thursday nite at Liberty's home gym in the region 7AAA finals! So i think Raleigh is a lock even tho I have seen Melrose play once this year and they have a 6'7 beast named Adonis thomas and a good guard in Mason. And i highly doubt Jackson's Liberty Tech can beat White Station in Joe Jackson House with a return trip to murfreesboro at Stake! So i think RE and White Station are almost certainly gna be there! AS for the others guess ill pick Science Hill over Oak Ridge-SH are pretty good (30-4)and battled tested having played in arby classic this year even if they arent the best having lost twice in the classic but they havent lost since arby and are on a 18 game win streak! PLUS they got beat by Oak Ridge twice by 18 and 19 pts last yr including in this very round even though they were on the road! So i think revenge will factor into Josh Odem and SH getting a hard fought win. Bearden over Morristown East- I think Bearden has a very impressive team (32-2) 3rd place in Arbys and no losses to any Tennessee teams! I had a friend of mine send me a tape of the Oak hill game and They remind me of the Liberty Tech 07 team that also played Oak Hill and lost and were undefeated in the state and went on to win the 2nd of their back to back AA state titles but with more SIZE! Honestly i think this team is on a mission after falling jus short of going to the state last year! And even though i think Memphis city schools play the best ball and will win the AAA gold balll I say watch out for Bearden! This substate game wont be close! Oakland over Red Bank- I havent heard much or seen much of either team but Im gna go with Oakland because they continue to win games without their second leading Scorer Tyler Edwards who has missed the last two wit a bum ankle! But the thing that really impressed me was the fact their whole starting 5 were named to the Region 4AAA all tourney team thats means TOGETHERNESS and Maximum effort at that! They have won 17 of the last 18 games so they are pretty HOT1 And their leading scorer Jamal hughes seems like a big time player from the news clippings! So i expect them to move on and be the Hometown favorite in the BORO without or DEFINITELY wit Edwards Back! Hunter Lane over Clarksville NorthEast- Dnt know anything at all about either of them but ill go with home court advantage Beech over Franklin- Same as above. Walker Valley and Shelbyville is a toss up I have no clue whats gonna happen here. This probably is the most intriguing match up of the substate round! Id love to watch this one with Shelbyville's Emmanuel Andrews(the most dynamic guard in Tn in my opinion behind mr. JOE JACKSON) and Deonta Twilley go up against Jake Trotter, David Ware and the 3ball machine (32-1) Walker valley mustangs! `I really think shebyville might just be the best team that the mustangs will face to this point in the season! And they better be ON and making their shots cuz twilley and company will be in their faces! This being said my guts tell me Walker Valley will win a close game! I expect Andrews prolly to score 35-40 pts but Walker valeey is home and Im gonna assume their 3 ball will be falling 85-80 Walker Valley! but again i wouldnt be shocked if Shelbyville Won at all. White Station over Liberty Tech- Joe jackson Andre Hollins and Ferrakohn Hall are gna be too much to hamdle for liberty especially with liberty not having a player over 6'4 and Hall is 6'8 even tho liberty's big man is a Tarius Johnson is a very good young post and plays with a ton of heart! Liberty may make it close though with their full court press and trap and their ability to hit the three! AND i will be attending from Jackson! Raleigh Egypt over Melrose-Before i give Raleigh the gold ball. They better be ready for a dog fight from what id say is a top 5 teams in tennessee and a team that shld very well be hosting a substate game after coming from 22 down to lead White station in the last minute only to miss two free throws that wld have given them a 4 pt lead! then the Joe jackson show took over! and they lost in Overtime. Okay back to the substate game at RE's gym...Raleigh Egypt has too much depth(Gentry Hines, Jeremy Holmes, Anthony Jones jr, Joe Brady, Ronald"Tank"Brown, Rashad Harris, Reggie Fondren)and all are very talented and experienced only Brown is a junior the others are seniors! and i just cant see Melrose senior Chris Mason and sophomore Adonis thomas getting it dont At raleigh egypt gym even tho they barely lost the city championships Feb 19th to Raleigh egypt 73-71 on a Tank Brown put back in the final seconds! Region tourney Mvp Gentry Hines is just playing too good in my opinion with his ability to get in the lane at will and use his lethal mid range jumper as i watched him the last 3 games! THEY ARE MY PICK FOR THE GOLDEN BALL Either way it turns out the AAA state tourney SHLD and WILL BE some great basketball

So YEAH i see them winning their district reg. season and tourney and giving GILES County all they can handle in the region FINALS and if they are clickin on all cylinders beat GILES yes i SAID BEAT GILES but i see no way they beat BOLIVAR(no chance), LIBERTY,HUMBOLDT, OR HAYWOOD in a substate game home or away. Yeah jcafootball u are so right about that WAVERLY as a town stinks Im from JAckson(the reason they played NORTHSIDE) and i was up there like a 1 and a half in tha summer AND there is Pretty much nothing 2 there except when they have there lil music on the square in the summertime. It would drive me crazy from boredom if i lived there all my life like most of them people there I was about 2 go crazy last night after the game i was ready 2 go home.
