IRISHDAD maybe you could help me out on the truth about the Irish and MBA wrestling 3 times in the final week and half or is this a misprint on the schedule. It would be exciting for them to wrestle in the "pit" and then MBA, but I dont know how it would work wrestling 3 times.

It sounds like many people are supportive of the return of Coach Jack Pittman whether it is head coach or even assistant coach many people in the Father Ryan community would like to see him return. Who knows if this website will help or not, but it definitely wont hurt the situation. Ingle Martin has to be up there as far as one of the best in the state at QB and even Kicker and I believe he wishes he had chosen UT to play where he would be in the mix for the starting spot, but I think will do well at Furman. In 1997 QB for Ryan was Todd Campbell who called most of the plays in the 12-0 season and won the state title while also playing 3 years at Ole Miss and I believe his senior year at UTC.

Well Mr. Saint I do agree with you that Manley can not look over Marable who is a great wrestler and has a chance to get the monkey off his back and win his first state championship it will be an exciting match and worth the price of admission... But you should be more concerend with yourself and the chance you have in the State Championship, let the talking be done on the mat, and not worried about taking up for a teammate on this message board.

It looks like McCallie has a good chance to win it all I think they got a pretty good draw. Father Ryan and Baylor will be right there and I think which ever team is going to compete for second is going to have to wrestle well in the Consolations. Why isnt William Simpson seeded first? It also seems that Tyler Mayo got a pretty bad draw having to wrestle Ryan Scott pretty early even though he defeated Velasco from CBHS even if it was a injury default. It will be good to see how Adamson the freshman 103 from Knox Catholic does I think he is seeded first? Leen has an opportunity to join a class of the elite by winning his fourth state championship.

I remember someone on here maybe BOTW say something about Coach Pat Simpson having to pull a rabbit out of a hat at the beginning of the season? I think he did that and more scrambling the line up so much that the Baylor, CBHS, and McCallie coaches were left speechless. They won with class and have a good chance to when in two weeks and weep D2, but D2 tournament will come down to the wire!

Joe Oddo is ranked, but if I am not mistaken he hasnt wrestled since the first couple of matches of the season due to grades?? Looks Good Hamm!

Bradley definitely wrestles one of the toughest schedules in the state and I wasnt trying to downplay that. In my opinion they are #1 team in the state, I was just throwing out there that they didnt make any attempt to "whip" and D2 schools except maybe Knox Catholic and maybe ND.

Fireplug I know where you would want to see more Public schools come "whip" the private schools, but to be honest Franklin, Collerville, Soddy Daisy, and Clarksville have wrestled most of the higher ranked Private schools and more props to them. They have made an attempt to better themselves and hopefully it will pay for them in Feburary. The only team that doesnt try to go whip the Private schools is in #1 position and it appears they will be repeating with another state title.

I agree with you BOTW, I would really enjoy seeing a Christan Brothers/Ryan match in the second round, and like you said if Ryan can't beat Baylor they dont deserve to win state and vica versa for Baylor.

Nothing against Christan Brothers they have improved a lot this season and should have a good showing in Clarksville, but wrestling BA in the first round and advancing a round farther than Ryan/Baylor?

Yeah i do agree with you Coach Delgado, but I wonder if brother Pat Simpson would have known how it was going to come out would he have wrestled all JV kids and given MBA the region title. I doubt Coach Simpson would even think of this and it was a big win against MBA, and hopefully both teams are up for the challenge this weekend at Clarksville!

I think MBA got a very good draw and we will be enough to take it to Notre Dame...

I said earlier I dont think Irishdad would do this intentionally, but a lot of people are making a bigger deal because of his prior posts on CoachT. I understand it was a big match, huge for hiller and simpson who are both class acts and I hate seeing either wrestler lose, but I dont think its as big of a deal as everyone is making it. If Hiller had a questionable reversal like some are saying would he not be awarded an escape? I know that maybe a little momentum for the Big Red, but even if you give MBA a pin here what does it make it 44-22 is it that big of a difference? I know, it was a HUGE match between to great class act wrestlers, but win or lose for MBA it didnt have the slighest impact on the actual impact of the match. I am not trying to down play these two exciting wrestlers, but lets be honest about the match. For MBA to beat Ryan, Simpson is going to have beat Hiller later on in the post season!

Rfran, I know where you are coming from not having a towel tapper to hit the ref is it little strange because of the importance of the match, but in Irishdads defense he has absolutely nothing to do with the buzzer going off. Once the clock hits zero the buzzer goes off and there is no way for anyone running the clock to "forget" to set it off. It was a crazy match great atmosphere for the sport and two good middle Tennessee teams heading to the state duals in Clarksville.
