  1. Coach of the year is David Pack - CPA. He takes a team from 3 early losses and the loss of an All-State running back in the first game to the Clinic Bowl - avenging 2 of those losses by beating undefeated Ezell and USJ in the playoffs. On top of that, he lost 2 of his top assistant coaches prior to the season - one taking a head coaching job at another school. So he not only had to rebuild a staff, but also a team after starting 0-3 and losing a great running back and defensive back. The icing on the cake is that he loves and is loved by his players and the parents. And isn't that what great high school coaching should really be about?

Sorry. In middle of my message it should read "CPA's defense makes you one dimensional by pounding on your backs and line and forcing you to PASS".

CPA's three early losses were suffered by a different CPA team and 2 of those have been avenged easily (USJ and Ezell). I went to all of the CPA games this year. The first three games they were experimenting with their offensive set. They have 6 different players in different positions since game three and like CPA teams before, their line controls the line of scrimmage and they just wear other teams out up front running the ball and shutting down the run. Boyd must be a good team to make the Clinic Bowl and beat Lipscomb (lipscomb has improved a ton since that game with the return of their starting QB from injury), but their with Ezell shows they will not be able to stop CPA. CPA's defense makes you one dimensional by pounding on your backs and line and forcing you to run. Just ask Johnathan Ward at Collinwood. I haven't seen Healy play but I know he is very good. However, I don't believe he is better than Johnathan Ward and CPA took Ward totally out of his game. Bottom line, defense wins championships and CPA has given up 13 points total to 3 undefeated teams the last 3 weeks. Best of luck to both teams, but CPA wins.
