  1. Hahahahaha I'm still laughing at D2Recruit's comment. It's meaning and relevance is very enlightening!
  2. First I will direct my comments towards TA60. Your sarcasm was so charming so I thought I'd try to match it here. You seem like a really awesome person. I sincerely mean that. Only an awesome person would get on here and make inappropriate comments that have no place on this message board, and you know exactly what I'm talking about. Also your comments concerning a match between Hayes and Duncan at a freestyle tournament were quite immature. But please continue by all means!! I must say TJ Duncan, a two time state champion soon to be three time, is running away. Heck he runs away from everyone!! Gosh, you have to hate that right!? So yeah, your mistake. As for the comment about Hooker, you're obviously a Baylor fan so I'll excuse your low capacity mind for confusing his weight drop for "running away." It's okay. No matter what I say, you won't believe me anyways- even with my "inside track to McCallie wrestling!" A lot of teams have a descent plan from the beginning of the season for their wrestlers by the end of the season, hence Hooker moving down to 125. Yeah he got beat by Hayes. Awesome. It was a good match. Hayes was the better wrestler that day. Moving on. As to my FORMER friend CupCake- please answer me this. What business did your first comment concerning me have? I would have to loop that in with TA60's inappropriate comments that have no place on this board. I just don't follow. And to all the other comments concerning forfeits- give it up. There will be no forfeits this year so quit all the whining. I'm sorry this had to be such a negative post. But honestly all this crap just gets really really old. I wonder if half the people on this board have ever heard of moving on. Or better yet, growing up.
  3. BearCat- I admit, the Big Blue didn't end up covering the spread although they did win. BUT in my defense, I called that spread before we realized our 135 and 189 would not be participating. Factor them in, I think I win!! Jack looked good this weekend by the way! Tough kid!
  4. So the broadcast they were doing Saturday at the tournament is not available for viewing on the internet?
  5. This match is in four days and this is all the chatter it's getting!? Come on guys!! Let's hear it!
  6. Duncan has been at 140 all year. He hasn't moved weight classes...
  7. BearCat- I enjoyed our "interaction" I guess you can call it, Saturday at the tournament! Friendly banter is always amusing. I'm assuming there will be plenty more of that at the Brentwood tournament here soon. But my gut tells me the EBE takes this one by 70+ points!!! Where will EFT fit into the mix!?
  8. CupCake it's been a crazy week for me! I'm proud of our McCallie team though because they had a very impressive tournament up at Father Ryan. People are realizing the EBE is coming back and strong at that! BearCat and I got to exchange some comments this weekend up at the tournament. You should ask him about it! It was quote eventful! I'm looking forward to that MS Baylor/McCallie match- it should be a good one! I'll see you there I guess! Sorry for the long break- like I said, crazy week!
  9. What's the official start time for the Ryan Tournament on Friday? I've seen 11:00am on Ryan's wrestling schedule and I've seen 12:30 posted on here by someone. Does anyone know the correct starting time (central time)?
  10. Your entire comment is just immature. Bottom line. But that's a real good interpretation! I hope you enjoy reading people's posts and turning them around. That's a good past time. I didn't say it was classless for you to yell when your own kid beats another kid. I think it's classless to yell immature comments when a kid takes an injury time or a kid's shoe falls off. I mean good lord! I could care less if you cheer for your kid when he wins against a rival school. I'd be worried if you didn't. You took my words and interpreted them how you wanted. Also you are extremely naive if you thought that my second comment, ("But for a match where no Baylor kid is involved, and their crowd cheers because another boy got pinned") was about a school just cheering when another school beats McCallie, you are a sorry person. I'd say I was sorry for making that comment. But I'm not. If you're so involved with the wrestling community, you know exactly why the Baylor crowd cheering for that PARTICULAR boy getting pinned is a classless act. Actually no, I'm sorry, I believe I said classless wasn't a strong enough word to describe it. Which it isn't. For you to continue this argument is, well... classless! Happy Holidays mtnrasslin! I hope all your dreams come true!
  11. CupCake- I appreciate the short reprieve. I'll be sure to start the thread myself when my "wit" comes back!! Heck I'm even excited about the middle school Baylor/McCallie match as well, being that I have a little dog in that fight also. But really right now... I'm exhausted!! Take care and have a great holiday! I'll come back as strong and witty as ever. Don't you worry!!
  12. Oh I'm sure! That was a big match. I was just responding to this statement by WrestlingLover- "The loudest cheers were from the Baylor faithful when Hooker lost, and when Duncan lost in the semis."
  13. One of those matches was against a Baylor kid- let them yell all they want, they have a dog in the fight, even if it is classless. But for a match where no Baylor kid is involved, and their crowd cheers because another boy got pinned!?!?!?!? I'll let you make your own presumptions about that action. I'm not sure classless is a strong enough word to describe.
  14. Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha I'll let plenty of other people respond to that crap!
  15. Yeah that was pretty awesome huh!? Good ole Baylor faithful... And CupCake- it's been a long week. My witty come-backs are just in lacking mode right now. If you read my "sermon" in the O.W. thread, I'd have to say all my energy was put into that! Maybe after the new year I'll have some good ones for you. Until then, it's recovery time!
  16. SomeONE. And obviously TJ beat him being that he won state that year. You're bitter.
  17. Alright first off- the fact that you took the time to go back and look up some of the people that TJ Duncan has beaten is pretty sad. You must have been trying really hard to prove your horrible point. Why else does someone go to all this trouble? You did this because anyone, whether they like TJ or not, will admit he is considered an elite wrestler. You are trying to downplay that. Also, I'd say your list is a little short, don't you think? Sure name those guys, but you're leaving out a lifetime of all the other wrestlers he's beaten. Also- if you don't think winning two state championships is a big deal, what did your son do? If I remember correctly, he won state only once. Was that a big deal to you dad? I'm sure it was. Because it is! But for another person's kid to win it twice, it's not? And that's just SO FAR and only as an 8th and 9th grader... I'd say that is a big deal. SO FAR being the key words there. IF TJ Duncan becomes the first to win it five times, will that be a big deal to you? I wonder... Another point- TJ Duncan is a three-time 3rd place finisher at the McCallie Invitational and he's only a sophomore!! That is no small feat. Even 6th place at that tournament is highly commendable. There are plenty of people on this board that would back up the notion of that tournament being the toughest in the area BY FAR. I know a four-time state champion that NEVER EVEN PLACED in the McCallie Tournament. Now what does that say about it...? But the biggest point is this- When you have the reputation of TJ Duncan or any other elite wrestler of being a great wrestler, no one wants to be in your weight class, no one wants to wrestle you for that matter. TJ Duncan cannot help it if his reputation precedes him. He can't help it if some people are timid to wrestle against him. If you were a wrestler right now seeking a state championship, I'm sure you would avoid any weight class TJ is going. That's because he is a great wrestler. Sure his weight classes haven't been the toughest the past two years at the state tournament, but is that TJ's fault? Actually, yes it is, because he's proven himself to be an outstanding wrestler therefore people don't want to face him. Which is very true for other great wrestlers as well. It's a hard thing about the sport. You hear a big name and no one wants to go against them because wrestling is the most mental sport there is. Some hear a big name and they've already lost the match before they even step out onto the mat. Well what does that do for the big name guy? He wants the best competition he can have, no matter if the guy poses a threat to him or not. That's because they are great wrestlers, and everyone knows that. JT of Red Bank is a great wrestler himself. His biggest advantage yesterday that few others have against TJ is not fearing him. I know JT knew how great of a wrestler TJ is, but he went out there unafraid of that and wrestled his match and he came out the winner, as he should have. A wrestler who doesn't fear the competition is the most dangerous wrestler there is. Look at Larry Owings- he respected Gable, but did he fear him? No and he beat him. The most dangerous type of wrestler there is. And as I've said before on this board, congratulations to JT for his win! Anyways to end this, don't dog a kid you don't know. Don't throw out names to downplay another wrestler's accomplishments. All these boys work hard to get where they are- no one can deny that. So why try to tarnish it by saying the accomplishments they've made were against low-caliber opponents (in your opinion). Why don't you leave the immaturity for the kids? Bottom line, TJ Duncan is a great wrestler. All great wrestlers fall though (once again, look at Dan Gable!), but great wrestlers get back up and finish the job. In regards to this weekend, Duncan gets beat and comes back and places as high as he possibly could having lost, and as stated above, 3rd place at that tournament is no small feat. Long post- but oh well. It needed to be said. Back off a good kid and a great wrestler. Who are you to make judgments and where have they gotten you? No matter what happens from here on out, TJ Duncan will ALWAYS stand as a great wrestler in Tennessee history. And the best part about it is, he's just getting started!
  18. Congrats on JT ChattWrestling- although it was hard for us McCallie fans to watch him make it to the finals, it was obviously well deserved!! I hope that boy got a well cooked meal tonight!! See you guys soon!!
  19. Finals are scheduled to begin at 3:30 tomorrow. The tournament so far has run pretty close to schedule. So for those planning to watch the finals live online I would say tune in around 3:30 eastern time. And CupCake- how did I get you!? And what makes you think I'm hanging out with Sexy...? Maybe I don't even know who he is!

  22. Sounds like point seeding was available to all coaches of teams in the tournament today. Some changes are still being made though I'm pretty sure. Complete brackets should be up early tomorrow morning.
  23. Mmm didn't catch that one, wish I had. Sorry. But brackets should be up by 11:00am tomorrow morning!!
  24. I don't think brackets will be up until Friday morning. MAYBE late Thursday. Points system meeting is going on right now. I got slipped a tip- looks like we'll see a match-up between Hooker and Hayes in the semis. Pay your money people- 11:00am Saturday is going to be a good one!!!!!
