  1. According to The Daily Herald Marco Dailey had 100 yards on 15 carries against Ezell Harding. We need to notify coaches across America that they should never allow a running back to carry the ball 15 times. According to you that is too much.
  2. What do you want us to say? We got whipped by a school three times our size. Congratulations. Isn't that what a AAA school is supposed to do to a single A school? They whipped us in every aspect of the game. GC has a good team. MP has some work to do. GC will probably be the best team MP will play all year.
  3. We definitely agree on that. Wouldn't it be a shame for Culleoka to have a season like this and still not get past the region tournament.
  4. I said, "Culleoka is a pretty good Single A team. They could very easily not make it out of the region. You have even picked Summertown above them. You have Wayne County right there too. CA has beaten Culleoka twice. Only 2 teams make it out of the region. There is a possibility that Culleoka won't make it out of the region.
  5. Culleoka is a pretty good Single A team. They could easily never make it out of the region.
  6. I watched MP and PC last night. Grandberry didn't dress. Is he hurt again?
  7. No envy here. I just thought there were rules about contact with underclassmen. I'll say it again. He's a pretty good Single A player.
  8. If big D-1 schools are looking at him as a sophomore, I just wish my son was still in school. I wouldn't have had to pay his tuition. The kid is a pretty good single A player. That's all. It is illegal for a college to have any contact with a sophomore. So how do you know that schools are even interested?
  9. They must have changed the water in Culleoka to have a team like that. What are they feeding these kids in the elementary cafeteria at Culleoka? Those are some big kids for a school the size of Culleoka.
  10. At least we now know what is most important at Culleoka. "Winning". Coach Crabtree does not win games with very little talent and he is asked to resign. Coach Slatten is winning with players from all directions. He puts down and cusses his players. He has been ejected and received numerous other technicals for his behavior. Slatten is considered a hero in Culleoka. I guess winning is everything. I do wish Coach Sharpe success with the program. He appears to teach his players the game of basketball while acting like a gentleman both on and off the court. He will not affect our district this year but maybe in years to come. But I do think he will be a positive role model for the players.
  11. Is something wrong with Grandberry for Mt. Pleasant? He doesn't seem to be playing that well. Except for some bad calls by the officials, the game really wasn't very exciting. MP made a good run at the end until they called the foul on Grandberry which was obvious to everyone it was a block. Even the official within 3 feet called a jump ball. The game just didn't have the energy that past MP and WC games have had.
  12. The awards are usually given at a banquet in January. The coaches meet in December to vote.
  13. I wonder how many of the MP players also played football. That could really hamper MP.
  14. Summertown has to be the team to beat. MP and WC lost some key contributors but should be in the top 4. I don't remember anyone from Collinwood who WC would want on their team. Zion is the only team who can make a major move in the standings. I still don't know how a kid could play for Brentwood Academy one year and Zion the next. Thought that was against TSSAA rules. Oh well, their rules aren't for everybody. Should be a great year. Hope to see several games this year. The 6:00 start is hard on a working man.
  15. They are considered a preseason game. However the TSSAA allows you to count them in your record if your want to. That's why you will see the winning team at 1-0 and the losing team at 0-0.
  16. This is not a new rule. It may just now be enforced by your official association. I saw this the entire year last year. I don't like it either. Especially when a foul is called and the coach has no idea who the call is on. He/she cannot make a decision if a substitute is needed until it is too late. I guess the only option is to have someone at the table at all times. You don't have to check in just because you are waiting.
  17. He get's to pick first this week.
  18. Congratulations Blueboy. Got em all.
  19. Lack of class could also be stated when someone leaves a school and transfers to another one. Then they continually trash the previous school. Sound familiar? It should. Mt. Pleasant did not play any of their starters after the first quarter last year. Hand off up the middle play after play. Zion couldn't compete with the subs. It was so bad that if you hadn't left, Coach Smith probably would have even let you play.
  20. MP scored first and missed extra point. Huntland then scored and made the two point conversion. MP scored again after recovering a fumble inside the 10. Missed the two point. Score stayed that way until midway through 4th quarter. Huntland stopped MP inside the 5. Drove down to the 9, first and goal. MP stopped Huntland. MP then punted. Huntland couldn't move the ball and had to punt. MP blocked the punt. On first play Dailey ran it in from about 30 yards out. Kick good. Huntland has ball on own 30. Ball snapped over QB. Butler picks it up and scores. Kick failed. MP defense was very tough. Gave up some plays but got the stops when needed. Final 25-8
  21. This is not a Lawrence County v Giles County thread. This is MP and GC. I decided to try this game Friday night. MP is very quick. They are a good 1A football team. Giles County has a long way to go to play at their level. I'm sure they will improve as the year goes on but their schedule will also get tougher. Great atmosphere for a high school football game.
  22. What is wrong with with the idea that if you want to compete for a school in athletics then you attend that school? What am I missing? When a parent decides to remove their child from the public school they are zoned to attend, then they forfeit all rights and privileges that school offers. You can't pick and choose what services you want. Either you are a part of the school or you aren't. Life is full of choices. If you want to meet the education needs of your child at home, then take care of all of the extra-curricular needs too. If the extra-curricular activities are worth your child attending a school, then let the child attend the school. I love going to the beach. I also enjoy my camp at the river. However my job is in the city. Since I pay taxes I think I should get all of the perks of each one of these at the same time without giving up anything. Makes since to me. I shouldn't have to choose which of the three locations I should have to maintain as my primary residence. I should have all three at my disposal when I want. Just the best of everything. I know KS, my analogy is stupid.
