Hancock County are behind the region winners!! Congratulations and good luck!

I want to congratulate the Lady Eagles of Cosby on an outstanding job defeating the Lady Indians of Hancock County. The game statistics were surprising, not only for me but fans from both sides. The Indians did not get their heads together and ended up going home. I understand the Eagles have not been to state since 1975; well, you will find the road to be all uphill! My post is not on Cosby winning the substate game. My comments have to deal with the behavior of the Cosby representatives. An announcement was made before the game on the time of the state playoffs for the winning team. Before the game was completed, another announcement was made, informing the spectators of the game. How inconsiderate! Hancock had not lost until the buzzer sounded! Talk about grinding salt into the wound!! Also, after the game, Hancock team members lined up for their customary handshake with the winners; it never happened. They waited for approximately a minute or so, noone paid any attention. Now I understand the meaning of winning a substate game, but come on- what happened to a little courtesy with the losing team!! The fans were rude, also. All I have to say on that is, wait until Monday night when your boy team travels to Unaka!! This post is not to whine over losing! I am proud to be a supporter of the Hancock Indians. I would have considered it rude if the treatment of guests at our school was the same as we received! Oh, by the way, aren't the guest team in a substate game required to get at least half the tickets and seating? Oh well, Good luck to the Lady Eagles in the next game. You are going to need it!

I have always been a Hancock Indians fan. I would just like to know what is going on with them this year. Why is there no one talking about them?

Congradulations to Coach Johnson and his mighty TRIBE on a exciting win over Union County Thursday night.I think you are doing a great job with this ball club. Just keep up what you are doing. You have turned this team around since early season. Hancock has allways been one of my favorite basketball clubs in East Tn., so just keep up what you're doing. Hope to see some more of your games before the season is over,if not maybe at playoff time, "DISTRIC, REGION,and hopefully STATE AGAIN!!!

How did the game go Friday night between Hancock and Jellico? I never heard any results. :confused: :confused: :confused:

I've not got to see Unaka play so far this year, but if Hancock keep's playing like they have for the past few games they will be hard for any team to win over!!!!!!!! :

I have to agree, Hancock is no throw in. I saw some of their early season games and they didn't seem to have it all together, but now they play like a different team. If they keep up what they are doing now, they can play with any team, regardless of the class A, AA, or AAA! Good luck to Coach Johnson and his TRIBE of INDIANS.

I got the chance to go the the Citizen's Tribune Classic on Saturday to see the finals. I made it in time to see Hancock boys play Morristown West. Coach Johnson seems to have his boys playing like a UNIT now! If it wasn't for a few mistakes this game would have been a BLOW OUT for Hancock!! Good luck Indians. If you keep playing team ball like you did that night, you will be a handful for any team!

I hope you are correct Truth 33. But until Nichols gets some more help on the inside I think it will stay the same.I think they need to go with a bigger line up or at least as big as possible.I could see using a 3 guard line up if they were a 3 point threat but they're not,so go with what has worked for years. From what I've seen they have too many players trying to be in the spot light,you can't win BIG GAMES like that. :confused:

I would like to know what the heck is going on with the new coach at Hancock High? I've played,called,and coached basketball for over 25 years and I have never seen such a misuse of talent in my life. Here you are with 8 seniors on your team and you don't know how to use them.Why are you using a 3 guard line up? If you're planning on winning a state championship you better use your big men.In other words (if you're gonna battle with the big boys you better have your big boys ready for battle).
