i saw them play West Carroll in the regional semifinals.number 10 is there point guard who has a good crossover.they also have a few good outside shooters who can shoot the three ball(number 12 and 20) and number 40 and 52 rotate with each other at the post postion.they like to press fullcourt.both teams seem to match up against each other well.

they have some athletes.jackson northside beat them 4 times this season and didnt blow them out.should be a good game.

your killing me browniemaggie.lol.i know you were joking about the scalping thingy.the place will be rocking all night and cant wait till game time.the case of bballfever i have has no anedote and the game will give me an ultimate thrill.tomorrow cant get here quick enough.

ive scene middle play in the semifinal game against West Carroll.i thought we match up against Middleton very well.number 10 is a pretty good point guard and has a good cross over driving in the paint.number 12 and 20 shoot the ball well from deep three point range and very athletic.they like to press fullcourt so that will give us open looks against there press when we beak it for some easy scores if we continue to handle the ball as we usually do.52 and 40 rotate with each other as there big man but they arent as tall as the jcs big men.it should be a packed house at the house monday night.

coach Bradford told me between 1200 -1400 people.my guess thats without standing room only.we do have a pretty nice size gym to host a substate game much less any tournament.

you wish,after last night,strayhorn showed who was best last night.strayhorn still has better numbers.strayhorn was doing some serious schooling last night in the second quarter.we got the win and hope we see Greenfield in the finals in the state to have another rematch of two great players.

only reason ausin has a chance of winning it is because strayhorn isnt a finalist.the kid can flat play.

im glad we build our new gym in the 90s.at halls,we have a pretty nice size gym for being a single A school.

jw,if you are a coach,please tell me something.if a defensive player takes a charge underneath the bucke,does that suppose to be a block?it sure was the last time i read a rulbook.i think strayhorn handled himself very well and showed alot of class when he shook all the all region team players hands as did shane who followed him.i said earlier strayhorn has better numbers and should be a candidate.i think everyone could figure that out for themselves after watching the game on both sides.i remember a kid who didnt get all ditrict or all region two years ago and then made the all state team that year.im hoping these two teams make it to murfreesboro in state finals.strayhorn and shane are both compeitors.danes my man.im proud od this kid after all that has happened.winning team goals as showing what hes made of lately.as individuals,i like both of those kids.they are great players and showed alot of class to represent our region.

i think halla had a chace to open up the lead more when it was 42-37 but didnt capitaize when we had four missed opportunities on possessions without Greenfield scoring.then Greenfield was able to make some plays to make it a 45-42 game and the ball before a turnover.then freshmen damarcas patrick made a big three to tie the game at 45 before strayhorn sealed it with free throws late.when halls had a four point lead,all they had to do was hold the darn ball but nance made a not smart decision and gor called for a charge.we cant make istakes like tht like.i know strayhorn wanted the ball in that situation.at least milk the clock more.nance has been coming up clutch late with free throws as well but he has to be smarter then that when that situation is there again.i think strayhorn when he got the ball in the first half,was simply unstoppable because greenfiend had no one that could stop him.i thought they did a better job with help defense on him in the second half since no one could guard him when he had the ball.Greenfield was patient and made a good comeback when halls had a good chance to be a little more patient and put Greenfield away when they had the chance.i thought shane played much better in the second half and was a gamer late.strayhorn scored 8 of his 21 points in the 4th quarter and was clutch like he has been his whole career.great matchup with strayhorn and shane going at it tonight being the top two players in single A basketball in our region.clint blackburn played like a candidate himself tonight.i think his little brother is going to be a fine ballplayer on a freshmen.i think both patricks(damarcas and rayshaun) came up big and his shots when they needed to when strayhorn didnt hit any points in the third quarter.thiscould possibly be another great matchup later on march 20 th in boro.

calling a game like a horserace might be kinda fun.lol.he does do a good job.

all state,i agree with some of those names although i dont know about certain players.if carpenter is mentioned,strayhorn of halls,shane of Greenfield has to be mentioned.both have good numbers although strayhorn has better numbers then carpenter or shane.

ballin4,i saw jcs and Middleton in there semifinal game.jcs does have some good white boys who can play ball.although Huntingdon has some good athletes,jcs could have beat them by more if it wasnt for some hot shooting late.alan north can shake and bake and shoot off the move very well.jcs will trap off of a missed shot and catch you napping if you loaf back on defense.jcs made Huntingdon pay everytime Huntingdon loafed.it seemed jcs made them pay each time Huntingdon made a run.ballin4,i know jcs has a great team and has played some tough teams.just remember,halls beat Dyersburg whose playing in a AAA substate game as well.so we are battle tested and can handle the ball extremely well.jcs does have a height advantage but it want be no CAKewalk for anyone of these teams.ballin4,have you scene halls and Greenfield play this year?Greenfield and halls will be an exciting game to watch.

hey brandon,i wasnt the one accusing you of being brandon shane.i was only giving my personal input on saying that strayhorn had better numbers along with setting his teammates up as well to go along with other intangibles.i wasnt attempting to accuse you of being someone else like some other poster.if halls gets to the state and does well,i think people will wonder.but as i said in other post,i think brandon shane is deserving.its just that its tough to get two players in the same area as finalist.at least,we can both agree that we have the best two players with mr basketball votes playing in a region championship game.

strayhorn had better stats then shane or webb.not just point but assists as well to go along with a better team record of 23-6 and going 9-4 against AA or better competition while Greenfield had a 19-12 record and going 4-10 against AA or better.we have four good quality players in our area in west tn.too bad we couldnt had morefialist in west tn.webb is a good and solid player but i still have to say he didnt play enough bigger schools(only 2 AA schools)shane,strayhorn and webb all are different type of players but very effective and looking forward to see these kids go further in there young careers.

i dont think this thing about sending the wrong guy to the line intentionally has anything to do with being on top.the clear out by some of Greenfields players were ovious except one time in front of me when there wasnt enough done to warrant a foul.smith did get away with it but the officials seem to be looking for it based upon clint getting away with it in the past.besides,on the other hand,strayhorn was dubbed in his own district by the coaches not voting him mvp.so in a since,halls can be just as hated in that respect when ya think about it.vaughn,ive enjoyed most of your comments in the past.i think you are mostly fair in your opinion and make sense alot.in reading some of your previous past,i feel like you might want to be a coach one day.i remember you playing before and you seemed to be a gutty player who played hard in your high school carrer.good luck to you in your endeavors.

halls fans will be there very load and rocking too.when lake county fans were chanting "we want halls", in the district tournament,both teams brought a load of fans with a great atmosphere to the game.it should be no different from this side as well.halls will be for this game as will Greenfield.i remember when we went to state two years ago,our first game round seemed liked we cornered the whole gym at murfreeboro it was so load.looking for a great game friday night.

jacketfan,i do remember on occasions some fights in the stands from some people who had no business being there.in the past,we havent had alot of those.to some people certain things stand out in there minds based upon the last time they were at a ballgame at certain places.i remember the last time halls played Greenfield at halls,i admitt the officiating was poor and i didnt see two of those guys back anymore since.but Greenfield played very bad that game and was beat badly.but i liked the way Greenfield kept playing hard though.they didnt quit regardless of the score.i dont see Greenfield giving up just like i dont see halls either.both teams will be ready to play friday night.if everyone is on for halls,look out.we had 7 people in double figures against Middle College in a win 106-61.to me,Middle College looked worse against trenton then halls but was ready to play against a flat Greenfield team early.Greenfield made a few runs whwn they needed to and made plays down the stretch to win just like they did against lake county.Greenfield has some good roll players and both teams will be prepared for what should be a great game.whats was the heart thing about buddy?lol.oviously,you dont know me.

liquid,your wrong.they basically have seven good shooters.when we are on like we have lately and our quickness,we will take advantage of several mismatches.halls has played better teams before and won,like Dyersburg.it depends on how each teams defense responds to each others strenths and who does the little things consistantly.both handle the ball well and it should be very interesting to see how it goes.good luck to both teams.it really matter most in substate on the road or at home.doesnt really matter although i sure would like to see another home game at halls.the town would really be rocking big time.

quippy,strayhorn was a better player then tyler even when he was a freshmen.now strayhorn is a senior but yes,tyler does has two more years to improve.tyler seems to be a very great kid also by watching him also.good luck to him also in the next two years as well.i guess for now i feel like im beating a dead horse on this issue of strayhorn not getting enough votes in both areas.but its tournament time and i think strayhorn would rather have a gold ball at his high school then a mvp or mr basketball anyday.basketball is a team game and its much more rewarding for a team accomplishment then an individual award.but at the same time,its great to hear of several people rooting for him.he gets alot of respect from other teams and i bet he causes headaches for oppositing teams coaching staffs.i know i would if i were coaching at the high school level.same goes true with brandon shane.hes a great player and im not trying to say he wasnt a good qualifier for the award because in earlier post i thought both were very deserving.

good point about richardson but she won the award last year but she was in the state tournament her freshmen year as well.shes quite different then most women in playing the game of basketball.shes definately a player.it appears that several people on other threads were voting for him.i think when its all said and done,dne strayhorn will have a good appreciation and respect from other people around the state regardless on the mv balloting and the mr basketball finalist.im sure there are probly some others in the state who might have gotten better recognition to some.ive scene some state tournaments and ive also scene strayhorn play consistanty over the years against good competition even against AAA teams as well.hes done quite well for a kid 5"10.he seemed a little taller then a couple of years ago.i knew he was only about 5"7 or 5"8 then.im sure glad we got by trenton last nigt.i really like our team to advance to stte tournament or advance further.we still have a great shot at making it happen.

its tough to have two players in the same area(west tn) make it as finalist when you have people voting in other areas although strayhorn has great numbers to be a finalist.i do know that strayhorn was done wrong in his own district being 4th in the balloting when oeven one of his teammates gets more votes and knowing who won the mvp makes me wonder about this issue more.although it does make since in a way that other voters havent scene him play this year.although strayhorn did play a great game in the state last year as did shane for Greenfield last year.shne is a great kid by watching his mannerisms.but anybody who has scene strayhorn play the game cant tell me he isnt better then the raining mvp of our district much less in the state.he is the best player ive scene in awhile being under 6 foot.i heard one guy on the radio talk about what things are to be considered to be voted.they were also talking about grades and attitude.both have great attitudes but in differwent ways.i keep thinking there are some things left unsaid the reason he didnt get enouh votes.but also considering the statewide voting i think is a major issue and shane being remembered from last years state tournament runner up.it still makes me wonder.but i know strayhorn personally and i gave him a challenge when he was 14 years old.some people never thought he amount to anything.he could either let them be right or prove them wrong.at this point,i think he has proven himself very well even getting this far in his career at halls high school.hes a tough kid who seems to play well with discipline.he needed this in his young life as a ten year old kid and he respected that early on in his young life.im just very proud how this kid has responded even after everything has happened.he sould make someone a great player at the next level.dane strayhorn,im proud of ya man.keep up the good work.

yes brownmaggie.i was surprised why we didnt press them earlier as well.since trentons weekness is turning the ball over,we needed to force turnovers like we did late.trenton played a heck of a game and doaks had a great game on both sides of the ball.damarcas,lajoel, dane and the rest of the team came up big late with a 14-2 run to give halls a small cushion late.should be a great matchup this coming friday night against Greenfield.friday needs to get here in warp speed because im getting a litle bit more case of bball fever coming across me.
