unaka pitched #4 a left hander and got hit good and early.halls lead 10-1 after 3 and had i think 11 hits by the end of the 3rd or 4th inning.the left hander seemed to settle down later as the halls bats cooled off a bit while unake slowly started making it a little slower after 4 at 10-4 and got it as close as 10-6 after 6.then,jogn gilliland hit i think his first career homerun with two outs in the top of the 7th to give halls a few more runs for cushion.halls scored 5 in the first to lead 5-1 and batted all 9 and scored 3 in the second and 2 in the third to go up big early.josh milam also hit i think his first career homerun as well.halls hit real well all the way through the lineup.unaka looked alot better hitting after getting behind.

looks like two different halls teams going to the state.halls from the west and knoxville halls from the east.you wouldnt believe how many people get us confused with knoxville halls.good luck to you guys.i was hoping both teams would get to state.

how far are all those games into?i know the halls dresden game started around 6:30 i think.

i think sbec is right on the border from memphis,a a private school.they have been cpompetiting in tn as long as i can remember back in the 80s.i cant remember exactly where the school is located.i know its arounds memphis for sure.

correct me if im wrog but i believe the 1.8 multiplier rule is based only on private schools only.usj will move up while jackson christian will stay down.it doesnt affect the public schools with a 1.8 multiplier.

i wonder what other teams that were AA moving down to A next season that will make an impact as well? humbodlt is moving down to A as well who plyed raleigh egypt in the first rund of state tournament who also eliminated giles county which wasnt an easy task at giles county.i hear union city will only loose one senior this season and went 31-3.i believe there will be some good teas left out of the regional tournament next eason because of the upgrade in region 8 next season.humboldt,union city,lake county,middle college,halls and yo academy in one district.i dont know if you are going to get a tougher district then anywhere in A.look at the pariody between humboldt,union city and lake county in which they return several players for next seson.it should be very interesting who makes it out of there to substate and get to murfreesboro.those teams will be in the opposite region of middletons.you will get a barnburner there as well although its really early to call.

hey bigbody. middleton only lost one player last year. i said in previous post that if middleton would have not stall the ball in the third quarter last year with a 15 [point lead,they would have won the game and probably won it last year as well.but patrick nailed some shots down the stretch and strayhorn got some one on one matches at the end of the game with no help defense.but middleton still had a chance to win it at the buzzer and lost.i hear middleton was really hurting after that game in the substate but i know it has to be a good feeling for those guys to win an overtime game in the substate this year after loosing two straight substate games(mitchell and halls) and finally come home with the gold ball.some close games down to the wire if changed in the past could be more gold balls for middleton.but its good to see a good basketball team get over the hump and finally win it after getting to the big dance sort a speak.

i am least listening to the game on the radio.great game so far with 2:21 remaining and middleton up 49-41.

its been mssed up since the bolivar game.

i heard about some good players from pickett.i remember crouch,aaron and josh bailey playing.i heard aaoron was a mr basketball finalist that year.i know that wasnt but one game in the state tournament against halls that year,but, i thought josh bailey really impressed me with his ability to shoot and drive both.i thought aaron shoot well when he had an open shot but didnt drive as well as bailey did that game.keep in mind that was only one game i saw.crouch didnt shoot well at all that game.but bailey stuck in my mind that game who was the more dangerous to our team that game based upon what he was able to keep pickett in the game with his ability to shoot and drive.when we left aaron too much space witout being in his face from a long distance,he would nail a three point shot.

i remember seeing middleton play last year in there substate game against hals.middleton only lost one player going into this year and i knew temple had there bunch back.i knew halls should have beaten temple but missed free throws cost them.free throws made this year against a very experienced temple team in the state thre last four years made the difference in the end.whoever thought it was going to be a blowout or shocked,wasnt really informed how good middleton can play. some were in fact shocke that temple lost based upon there 34-1 record.but middleton knows they could have been in this situation last year if they didnt blow there 15 point lead in the second half against halls last year in the substate.but it seemed the lost helped them refocus this year and get to the murphy center and show how far they can go.i saw jcs play last year and middleton has beaten them 7-8 times and i can almost bet jcs could be there as well but they didnt get it done the lat two years in the substate.middleton didnt get it done last year to get to boro and now they are showing what can happen after they arrived.im not from middleton but i was very impressed with there team from last year.i knew in my mind they have the talent to win it all.

trenton finished third in the regular season ad 4th in the ditrict tournament but there is alot of competition in our district on any given night.middle college won the regular season followed by lake county who beat trenton three times and trenton who then split with middle college.middle college was the team who lost to halls in the first round in the district tournament.so based upon these facts,trenton was tournament tested against some good competition all year with improving guard play as the seasaon ended.i heard trenton seemed to have trouble today with turnovers but still prevailed. there is still some good teams in west tn that are at home.lake county middleton game went into overtime in the substate round.those two teams could go 5-5 against each other.trento peabody turned things around after the doaks was suspended for two games before the regional tournament.trenton winning those two games without doaks might have improved the confidence of the other supporting cast with doaks.

it sounded like middleton hits there free throws toward thew end unlike halls last year against temple. wishiwereaballer,i think btown was referring to middleton loosing to AA power bolivar by 10 and 16 points.i knew middleton having everybody back basically as was as temple would be a great game from two confident teams.two bad these two teams had to match up in the first round.cant wait until tomorrows AA games with bolivar and haywood playing tere games.should be awesome.

i cant seem to even view the stats of the score during the game.it says i have to diable popups.never had a problem before.what do i do now.

wouldnt surprise me if middletons pep band shows up.they really get down when they play at halftime.even there fans get up and have a good time.music is always good as far as motivation even during time outs.the players are focused anyway.its like background music anyway. its all good.

ballhawk,i agree with you 100 percent on that manner. a winner will show up anywhere anytime anyplace.you dont have to like someone to play the game.you either love the game more or make an excuse.winners find a way and loosers make excuses not to compete. hopefully they find someone who undersatands this and geterdone.

the kids you have mentioned,are all those kids preregistered to go?and where is this showcase located?

did willie get another offer somewhere else for his departure?
