  1. Stephens is perhaps the quickest, most mature guard in a long time. He and Dowdell are the obvious leaders. Without them OR is an average great team. With all of them playing, and as the season goes more team gel, OR could be un-beatable.
  2. OR is loaded this year. If OR does not win it all (or at least go a long way to the 'boro) this year, they should look themselves in the mirror and make a change. If Clinton were to get hot and beat OR in this game, then it would not surprise me to see a major celebration of some kind. Anything can happen when things get emotional and inspired as in this game. It is always fun to watch. It will be a pleasure to see the new donated arena.
  3. Good luck to William Blount this year, my favorite 4-AAA team.
  4. I wish AC and the other teams in 4AA all the best, however, tradition has it to beat AE and Fulton to get out of the region. Is that possible this year ?
  5. Is the Ballard player for WB Stan's son (or other relation) ?
  6. I am just glad to see Coach Eldridge leave AC so Clinton can get back to stomping AC every year. Trouble is, now when we play Maryville in the region tourney (like it seems to often be), we have to play against an Eldrige-coached team again ! We can't seem to get away from him. Seriously through, Congrats to Maryville and Edridge on a fine season. Maryville seems to be doing everything right in many areas (not just basketball).
  7. I fail to see how adding such restrictive rules on when a kid can/cannot play a sport will solve anything. How can this "governing" body be helping the students of Tennessee ? Kids now have more free time on their hands for which to get into trouble and then not be able to play any sport or even be in school. Great job TSSAA. You are really helping these kids and looking out for them.
  8. Not unusual is it ? I remember Farragut was in a region final with Clinton, and many of their fans choose not to come, and rather be at baseball practice. Farragut never has had great fans for BB. However, I hope they win it all. Coach Dogden deserves to finally do well after all he has been coaching. Can someone explain with District-IV gets the region again this year ? Last year it was at Sevier County. I had originally heard it was supposed to be at Halls this year. Is that true, and if so, why did it change ?
  9. I think Clinton's 2-3 team did better than their 1st. Dragons need to somehow learn to handle the ball, dribble, and just hold on to it. Lack of experience really shows badly this year for the Dragons. Admirals are great shooters. But for as tall as they are, they do not like to get physical inside. Outside shooting will not take you very far. I am surprised they beat OR.
  10. I watched it and it was good. OR played well, but could have played better and won. The Florida team they played had an attitude and several times should have received technical fouls and/or player ejection (this is what would have happened in TN). I though OR showed real class and will benefit from this tourney down the stretch. I am looking for OR to bring the gold ball to East TN this year. This team is the real deal if they can stay focused.
  11. Oak Ridge should dominate all teams in this region. If not, then they need to re-examine the situation.
  12. The main reason that Clinton is charging for the parking is a fund raiser to pay for the goals that the kids play on in the gym. You don't have to pay the $10, but if you don't you don't get the prime parking spaces...even if you do come early. Not only does the AC board of education not fund for the athletics in the school system (only the coaches get a small supplement by comparison to other schools in the area), but they also do not get the millions of dollars of donations from area industry to fund their capital improvements.
  13. So, how did the Dragons look against OS ?
  14. Does anybody know where Coach Hardin is now ? I used to love the games Elizabethton had with Clinton when he was coaching. Hardin and Lockard were go friends I think. Where is Hardin now ?
  15. Jordan Dixon is the other gaurd you are probably talking about Jordan is playing college ball at Carson Newman and Jonathan is playing at Milligan College. As to which was the better, I would say it is a toss up. Clinton will find it hard to replace those two. That said, Bubba Owens is the senior gaurd this year (hope he is still playing) and he will provide the leadership from that position. Bubba is a very good player and tough. I was impressed with the young post players Clinton had last year coming off the bench. I am looking forward to seeing the Dragons again this year. My guess is Coach Chris Lockard will always have a competitive team and will always play hard. The tradition Clinton has had over the last 10-15 years will hold.
