  1. 0 turnovers in the playoffs this year for the Wildcats. that is a great turn around in itself because we had at least one if not more in every regular season game.
  2. Heard Desmund Horne is still hurt any word on his ability to play friday? Heck of a game by Shawn Prevo Oak Ridge is going to have to find a way to stop the run regardless of who is back that. Good luck to both teams; can't wait for this game to get started.
  3. Its amazing how you shut down the run and force them to pass that you can control the game. By the way thanks for all of the poster board material. Good luck next week against Whitehaven... oh wait you will be sitting at home. Well as an OR fan we want to extend and invitation to all the Blackman to the Maryville OR thread to smack talk us say we are cupcakes and give us even more motivation. Congrats to Riverdale on a good season. Your players never gave up and played their hearts out; you have a lot of class over there. You guys got a good thing going in the Boro and are going to be really good these next couple of years hopefully we will see you later in the playoffs next year. I have a lot of respect for Riverdale and your program. Just sorry we couldn't have met in the Semis like it used to be.
  4. Just saying Oak Ridge isn't as soft as everyone thinks. The majority of our losses are because we literally got out our double barrel 45 and shot not one but both of our feet off in some cases. Turnovers kill but Oak Ridge hasn't turned it over in the playoffs, which is exactly why the wildcats have won. It'll be a great game, but a close one (unlike most think) between two battle tested teams. Good luck to both teams.
  5. As long as we are comparing loses. Lose #1 Farragut in overtime on a Interception in which the QB stared down the WR had Oak Ridge run the ball like they had done all night. Oak Ridge lead this game all night until the last minute; it is quite possible that Oak Ridge would have won; this is a team that Riverdale barely beat in a comeback effort. Lose #2 Maryville- Oak Ridge turned the ball over 7 times (just about every RB fumbled) and QB had multiple INT). Maryville never drove the ball more than 40-45 yards to score. Lose #3 - Hardin Valley. regardless of what fans may think Hardin Valley is one of the biggest schools in the Knox Co. area and with only two years of varsity experience they are only going to get better. A late INT thrown to HV best athlete on the same route that they threw the INT from the Farragut game. Had the Wildcats scored they would have won that game. The win against Anderson Co. is the most impressive. Riverdale fans say the QB can pass. Oak Ridge beat the team with the QB that hold the majority of the passing records in the state. This is one reason the majority of Oak ridge fans aren't worried about Riverdales passing game. (not saying the QB is good just putting some facts out there).
  6. Is the QB a little bit of a scrambler? because that helps Riverdale even more. I haven't seen any tape on Riverdale I just know what you run on offense and defense.
  7. The wing T is a multiple motion offense that relies mainly on play action to get the quarterback outside of the pocket and they will mainly run waggle plays out of it. When you run the wing T you set the pass by running the ball and there are very few straight back drops. After you stop the run they have to pass and that will usually mean man coverage that way you can keep the running backs honest. This will for the ends to play contain and if they do and stretch the play to the sidelines that limits the amount of receivers open down-field. Oak Ridge ran the wing T for 8 years so I know it very well. One game against over three hundred yards is great and that usually happens a few times a season but not regularly in the wing T. did this quarterback have any other big games passing?
  8. I love the history between this two schools. even though Riverdale holds the overall record Oak Ridge one the last one. I played in three of the games in this series lost two and won the last one it is a great rivalry. But as good as Riverdale is its hard to stop a team on a winning streak regardless of how close of games Oak Ridge has played in the play offs. This Wildcat team is starting to believe in themselves and they fight to the bitter end. Rocky Fluud is running well, offense isn;t turning the ball over, and defense is playing physically. The wing T is a great offense but only if you can throw out of it. Can't wait to make the trip to the Boro. Im going with the upset 21-17 Cats.
  9. Someone should just call Ravenwood's AD for him and send a resume overt here. Then we get someone that actually wants to be in Oak Ridge.
  10. I know that cookeville has a big and fast running back but what are some of their other players to watch during the game? any good WR's, QB, LB's maybe?
  11. This is a great list of candidates I would also include tommy Laurendine though
  12. He wants to come back. He was the leading candidates in 2005 for the position. His kids graduated from here. He loved coaching here. He loves rebuilding programs and its obvious we need it right now. This a high profile job. Why would he not wana come back.
  13. I'm gonna through a name out there just for fun, but before i do i want to list credentials for both candidates. Candidate #1: Won a state championship this year but was only an offensive line coach. Has never had a head coaching position. Has bounced around knoxville area schools for the past 4 years. Candidate #2 Head coach for Oak Ridge when they won their last state championship Has taken a team to the semifinals the past two years in 4A Took the same team to the quarterfinals three years ago Candidate #1: Ron Grey Candidate #2: Joe Gaddis Facts and statistics don't happen by chance. Lets hope the administrators make the right decision this time.
  14. The article is very interesting and it very objective. However my only disagreement is the size. DB has just a many 6 foot and over guys as Oak Ridge does; plus size only goes so far. We might be big but that doesn't necessarily translate into strength and speed. Also the article shows how loaded DB is on offense and defense. They have a lot of their players coming back from injury, which means the are back almost to full speed. However this is Oak Ridge vs DB and anything can happen; in this series there have been blow outs, there have been shootouts, and there have been defensive dominate games, can't wait to see what happens.
  15. I am a former player that that stays updated on the situation in Oak Ridge. You don't have to be a great analitical person in Oak Ridge anymore to understand the offense and defense. Heres a little hint for all the DB fans and players when you stop Oak Ridge's running game watch for the offensive coordinater to through the fade route a few times in a row. Oak Ridge isn't hard to scout at all.
