I agree about going to 4 classes. It would even things up a bit and make for a lot more competitive ball.

Gomab, You have Halls #9 and listed as losing 3 in a row. They actually had a win against Crockett Co. in between the Humboldt loss and the Adamsville loss.(the Humboldt and Crockett Co. game was both at the Crockett Co. tournament). Does the christmas tournament games count as part of their record officially, or is it just a factor in your polls? They only have 2 regular season losses.

Definitely going to be one of the best seasons in this district now that a little competition has emerged among these 3 teams. Very good ball to watch. It will be interesting to see where this season is heading. Tournament time will be very exciting. I wish all the teams luck, but still hope the Tigers end up on top! Mitchell knows exactly hoe scrapy Halls and Trenton are. If Halls wouldn't have gotten down by 20 in that first quater, that would have been a very different game in Halls. The last three quarters kept everyone on the edge of their seat. Wait til next time...

We'll see if Trenton can bring it, but they havn't played Halls yet. Mitchell is a good TALL team, but some of his players eligibility should be questioned by someone. I hear that they are from all over the city and eligibility is not right for Mitchell's club. Somebody needs to check that coach. Single A listen up! Heads up! Just wanted to throw in my 2 cents for the next poll, when it's released. In the single A poll Halls is ranked #1. Now... halls lost their last game to Memphis Mitchell which is a very talented, TALL team. Mitchell had run Halls down by 20 points in the first quarter because of Halls' conservative play. Halls came back in a frezied manner, all but shutting down Mitchell defensively. Throughout the rest of the game it was a pretty evenly matched game. The deficit was just too great to come back from. Halls showed a lot of composure in the last 3 quarters in coming back, hanging tough , and not leting the game get rediculously ugly. The margin of victory (17 pts) didn't reflect the type of game it had become in quarters 2-4. Mitchell slowed the pace to a crawl much of the 4th quarter and put it away late in the forth.(Kind of ran away with it in the end.) It was a good game that Halls stayed in until the end. I don't think the next meeting will be anything like this one. anyway, keep all this in consideration when compiling the new poll. Halls is a much better team then what the score to the Mitchell game implied.

Halls is definitely not overrated. If not for that first quarter in which Halls played like they were intimidated, the Mitchell game last night would have been a whole different situation. The last 3 quarters saw Halls make run after run. It was really a tight game after Halls got within 11 points in the 2nd and 3rd quarters. The deficit was way to much to overcome in 8 minute quarters. The district is still in for a good race all year long.

I'm glad you mentioned the youth leagues in Halls. That's the greatest thing that the Halls program could have come up with. I wished we had one before I played. It has really accelerated the program to a state contender level. I applaud you for being a part of it. I wish we could get an official poll from somewhere also. (Especially if it has Halls at #1 like Gomad's poll). They are very deserving of #1 status finally..

yea, lajoel lived right next door to me on Nance St. in the S-U-B. Dane sings with sug and sweet and I produce them at my studio. We are all together now on the cd's. It's going down in Gates and Halls.

S-U-B born and raised. D.J. LAI in da heasey. I see Tania is a fellow Gates-highwater wader. And a fellow "Halls Tiger 4 Life". Do You play now? or graduated? I played from jr high up through '94 with the High school. Good to see our boys 7-0. We went to sub-state Sweet 16 my sophomore year in '92. I know they are loving this string of wins and bringing back some much needed and earned respect to Halls sports.

He doesn't play yet. he moved here just a couple months ago from Decateur, Illinois. I'm a friend of his and we are working on his game to get him a little better than he is. He has major potential and is still growing. This kid could be 6'6 or more by next season. He is training and getting into shape now. Pending that he doesn't move back to Illinois, (Which he is not planning on), He'll be ready to wreck shop next year...
