  1. I did wrestle floyd in the northeast finals in the 98-99 season and in another tournament the year before
  2. I agree. It seems like a logical idea to seed the teams. I am a Clarksville fan, like I said before, but I don't know if they would get past Soddy. That is why I want to see them in the semis--so the best two teams will be in the finals. I also think the tournament should include Cleveland. They are probably the second best dual team in the state. A 16 team seeded tournament would make it a better competition. But I guess the draw is half the excitement.
  3. If this is set up like the bracket with Clarksville and Bradley on the same side, then I think Bradley beats Soddy in the finals and Clarksville finishes third. As I Clarksville fan, I would personally rather see a Clarksville-Soddy semi and the winner face a clearly dominate Bradley in the final.
  4. Sweeton was good, but I never had a chance to wrestle him. He did beat Floyd in the finals in 98. Floyd beat Welsh in 99 and Welsh beat me in 00. As far as it goes, I have also wrestled some all-americans from Colorado and Arizona, but since I don't know their names and probably nobody else around here would know who I'm talking about, I didn't mention them.
  5. I wrestled some good kids: Matt McCarty, Darren McKnight, got wins over a young Chonci Houston and a young Adam Rains, but I think the wrestler that the wrestler that was the baddest at the time we wrestled was Erik Floyd from Centennial. He was on another level.
  6. Nobody has mentioned Jeff Lloyd, a one-legged state champion and national placer at 103 pounds. He would have crushed Sweeton at that weight and certainly would have given Leen or James or any of those other guys mentioned a great match with his strength. Martin Francis was way before my time, but he would probably start class on every Tennessee team ever at 98, 103, 105, or 112.
  7. I'm not sure about the adam rains pick. sure he was tough his senior year, but he's a pretty nice guy. matt keller on the other hand was always mean. he wanted to murder people on the mat. rains sure didn't have that killer instinct his whole career.
  8. Watch out for Northwest's Steven Jordan. He has won a couple of tournaments and seems to be coming into his own. He should qualify this year.
  9. Another bad man was Jeff Lloyd from Northwest. I think he wrestled in the late 80's early 90's. A one-legged 103 pounder and a national placer. He would cradle anything that walked.
  10. The meanest dude I ever wrestled was Erik Floyd from Centennial. He tried to kill everybody he wrestled and didn't care if his opponent ever got back on the mat.
  11. Is there any way to view the TBW issues from 1998-2000?
  12. Does anybody know about the 103's in region 7. So far it looks like Hendersonville and Northeast are the guys to beat. The other two state qualifiers look up for grabs.
  13. I know Clarksville is the team to beat in Region 7. But are there any schools who don't have a program and might be candidates for starting one? I'll be teaching in the area next year and would like to see all the schools have wrestling teams.
