As for right now, do you think that either of the 2 teams left in the East should win State? Should the West/Maryville game be considered the State Championship in a sense?

I wouldn't be so sure. West's defense has really come a long way from the first meeting. The d-line and especially the backers have really stepped up. This one is gonna be like that same one last year at Maryville, and you know how that game ended up.

Just for clarification...the game was moved because the field was in unplayable condition. Therefore, the athletic director stated, "Burke Toney is not in playable condition. We looked around at stadiums and we had to take into consideration the size of the stands also." The field will be in good shape because it has not been played on in 4 weeks. Finally, Hamblen Co. needs to wake up and build West a stadium. Out of ALL the schools in the entire state of Tennessee, Morristown West is the only team not to have their own football field. It's not like they don't have the money. There are always school construction projects going on. BUILD A STADIUM!!!

I am calling this game, Cleveland is going to pull out the upset by 10!

I am just wondering why more people haven't said anything about Jefferson County? Sure they aren't excellent now, but check history. They have been ranked nationally before, which only a handful of Tennessee teams can boast. Just didn't want you all to over look our neighbors over here at West.

Earl Nall's week 8 ratings have the Trojans remaning in the 9th place position as week 7 and the Greene Devils remained unchanged in the 7th position. Usually, if somebody wins, they move up and if somebody loses they move down. Also, if one team beats the other team, the winning team is usually ranked higher than the losing team. Does any see anything wrong here?

AP Polls are out and Maryville is ranked 1st with 14 1st place votes and 167 total points.......Norristown West is ranked AP 2 with 2 1st place votes and 105 total points. Now I don't see how some people can talk about how West is not that good and overrated, but the truth is....people from all over the state have them ranked 2nd among 4A teams. This game is gonna be an all out war just like when West visited Maryville last year. That game went back and forth....West would score, then Maryville would score, then west, then maryville.........Each and every series is going to be very very crucial in this game. To the team with the best 3rd down conversion ability will get this win!!!

My favorite Friday night moment occured the 1st Friday after 9/11. Maryville was host to Morristown West. The game was back and forth, back and forth. It was the most nerve-racking game I had ever scene (and I was relieved when West pulled out the victory ) The mood, atmosphere, and the aura..........words can not express. That was the best night in high school football I had ever witnessed.

DB beat West 4-3, 4 yellow cards, 1 red, and I player pushed the ref (all because they called an extremely bad game). West would have won if the refs would have not given a goal to db that did not even go in the goal!
