  1. Support, the way this district has been, ANY team that shows up and plays 4 quarters of their best basketball WILL win that game, because chances are the other team, no matter who it is, will not be playing there best basketball. Anyone could join this post and make the same argument about this team has the best chance "IF," and this team will win "IF." The majority of games games that MC lost were all close, just as 3 of Cascades 4 losses were by 1 point, 1, point, and 4 points. And it's like this for many of the teams in this district. Here are the top 4 in my opinion (no specific order): Richland: Decent talent, Average Coaching Cascade: Great talent, Poor Coaching Huntland: Above Avg. talent, Good Coaching Moore Co.: Decent talent, Great Coaching Based upon these comparisons, I feel as if on a given night Huntland can beat any of these teams by 15-20, and the same goes for Cascade. With Moore Co. you know what you are going to get night in, night out: Consistancy. Richland is a very good team with Hewitt but not so good without her, but still in the top 4, in my opinion. Basically, this district will be decided on who comes to play around tourney time. Whether it be Culleoka, Eagleville or any of the top teams, whoever comes prepared and ready to play on that first night will be victorious. Bottom line.
  2. Anyone know the tie-breaking system for the district? With Moore Co. sitting at the top with 3 Losses followed bt Huntland, Cascade, and Richland with 4 there is bound to be a tie somewhere within the top 4 since there is a chance for Moore Co. to lose to Richland. Then there would be a 4 way tie for 1st, and with this district being as inconsistant as Shaq from the line, seeding will matter when it comes to the second round, but as far as the first round goes, lol, it all depends on who comes to play opening night. Anyone could lose (Even Moore Co. and Cascade) who I happen to think are the best 2 in the district.
  3. District 11a is a toss-up as of now. When tournament time comes around seeding will make no difference and i would think that Richland, Moore Co., Cascade, and Huntland will be the teams advancing to the Region tournament, even though one or 2 of these teams will probably be upset in the first round. This district tournament is not going to be decided by which 4 teams are better than the rest, but rather which 4 teams can get it together for the FIRST ROUND, and as far as the second and third round goes, you might as well flip a coin. All District: Korey Knight (Forrest) Courtney Brothers (Community) Sarah Karper (Eagleville) Laura Cowley (Cascade) Kaleigh Fletcher (Moore Co.) Jamie Smith (Huntland) Miranda Wilkinson (Huntland) Vanessa Pincheon (Moore Co.) Kristen Armstrong (Cascade) Paige Provy (Culleoka) #25 (Richland) #33 (Cornersville) can't remember their names District 11a MVP: Laura Cowley (Cascade) If you have seen her play, you know why.
  4. I saw she had only ten against Forrest. Let me guess, she was 3-30 from the field, correct? Or did she pass the ball? I hate to be the one to tell you checkurself, but karper is not even close to what you make her out to be. Shooter, yes, Best player on the team, yes, but any single A player (boys or girls) that can shoot the ball well can shoot 25-35 times a game and score 37. But when they play a team that has just 1 girl athletic enough to get through all the screens that she goes off of to get all of these shots, such as a Kori Knight, then she can't do anything. Sarah is a good player, i'm not questioning that, she just isn't half what you make her out to be. And you do seem to know alot about her, and her feelings, as stated above, makes me wonder, especially when you didnt deny it in yuor last post.
  5. What about turnovers per game and FG/FGA?
  6. 6-34 shooting? That is a joke. This is Single A basketball, not the NBA. I don't care how bad your team is, if you shoot 34 times and lose you are letting your team down. Anybody have avg. assists on this girl? Any player who feels comfortable, and by that i mean not feel like a ball hog, with shotting 30+ times in a game SHOULD score 30, EASY. But when you shoot SEVENTEEN PERCENT from the field? I was starting to think she was as good as some people were making her out to be, but now that I know she shoots between 25-40 shots a game, it makes her sound like a joke. From now on, why don't you post her FG/FGA before you get on here bragging about her scoring 37.
  7. This WAS a great game, for the Raiders at least. They played with more desire than a bigger and more athletic Marshall County team and came away with a convincing win.
  8. Did I say Community by 12? Oh it says it right up there doesn't it? Karper played well as I expected, and the rest of the team, well, they just can't get it done...as expected.
  9. Who cares if they stop Karper? She is a "good" 1A player on a terrible 1A team. What did she score, 37 on Richland and they still lost by 20? Community by 12. Karper scores 20, the rest of the team scores 10, and they lose 42-30. 0-2 in the district, and in for a long season. Best of luck to both teams.
  10. What does everyone think about Laura Cowley from Cascade? I think depending on the amount of success they have this season she will have a legitimate shot. If her supporing cast shows up night in-night out i think she will get some consideration.
  11. Anyone have any thoughts on the subject? It seems as if the talent level is higher than usual in Wartrace but from what I have seen the coaching is rediculously awful. With one of the top guards in the district and the big girl down low you would think their record would reflect the talent. The team as a whole looked good tonight (then again it was agianst MTCS). But throughout the course of tonights game, along with almost every other game, both coaches just sat on the bench and watched. Thats not very good coaching. Lobbing the ball in to the big girl every play is not going to work when it comes tourney time, sorry coaches but you're going to have to put a little more thought and effort into it if you want to be successful in the post-season. Use the talent you have and stop holding your girls back from doing what they have the potential to do. I see the effort there from the girls, maybe you should try a little, i'm sure they deserve it just as any other team would.
