  1. Don't worry. Briarcrest just reloaded - forget about last year. 2 transfers in this fall. One from Ohio and one from another Memphis school and she is a highly rated AAU standout. Freeze won't stand still, mack.
  2. Any names popped up as possible replacements ? Only thing I have heard is that Hubie Smith from Bartlett might have an interest or vice versa.

  5. All Associated Press members in Tennessee are eligible to participate in the high school basketball poll. Those who voted for this week's poll are: the Citizen Tribune, Morristown; The Daily Herald, Columbia; The Daily News Journal, Murfreesboro; The Daily Post Athenian; the Elizabethton Star; The Greeneville Sun; the Herald-Citizen, Cookeville; The Jackson Sun; the Johnson City Press; the Kingsport Times-News; The Knoxville News-Sentinel; The Lebanon Democrat; the Newport Plain Talk; The Union City Messenger; WCMT, Martin; WENK, Union City; WTKB, Milan and WTPR, Paris. *************** The above was pasted from the AP story. As you can see nobody in Nashville (The Tennessean I would guess) bothered to vote and there is a heavy amount of voters from here in the west and from the east which probably is the reason for the vote being what it is.
  6. The Hall of Fame games had to be played within a designated time frame a week before the regular season started. Anything after that date must be counted, period. The only thing that could be counted or not (depending on the school's choice) are games within the week that you were allowed to play hall of fame games. It's pretty silly really. The TSSAA ought to just say they count or not one way or the other and settle this. What about stats ? What if some player scored 30 points in a hall of fame game but his team lost the game ??? You've got to count the game to count the stats !!! The TSSAA can solve this by just setting a rule
  7. Very Accurate, CoachT. Unfortunately, the way D2 does their sectionals these four will not make it to the final 4 (in other words, 2 really good teams out of those four will have to play one another at the sectionals from what I have heard down here). Supposedly, Middle 2 will have to face West 2. That's too bad. A great team will not get to go. I'll take a stab at rounding out the top 8: 5. Webb Knoxville 6. Hutchison 7. Harding 8. Baylor (bad record/tough schedule)
  8. I know they lost some seniors and maybe they have some people hurt but 30-18 over Nashville's USN ? Man, that's ugly (against a team that the coacht scoreboard says got beat by HH 57 to 11 !!) What's goin' on over there ? Don't count Freeze out though. He's got three rings.
  9. And one more thing mr. oletimes. Miss Basketball is actually voted on before the state tournament begins. Know that as a fact from a media person -they just don't announce it until after. Just FYI .
  10. You know, if you didn't know any better and listened to the two Harding Academy regulars who post on this board you would think that they were a basketball dynasty. Funny how they were talking about beating Briarcrest -that THIS was their year - and then got blown out by 30 a week or so ago.Didn't hear much from the Lion talkers after that one. Now they are talking about the ECS game like they will pull the upset (and ECS beat Briarcrest). To say that about Martin and Mincy makes you look like a fool. They are both going to be division one players next year and have made tremendous impacts on the programs of their schools. Oh wait that's right..... Somebody from Harding is gonna win it this year - I totally forgot !
  11. My prediction is that it will be one of these three: Kristen Archie - Ryan Jada Mincy- Briarcrest Julie Martin -ECS with Sarah Baker of HH knocking on the door and the leading candidate for the next two years after this one.
  12. Briarcrest has three starters who have 2 rings each and a division one signee. They know how to win the big game. If ECS handles them when they play then they deserve the #1 spot.Until then, I think they are still in that spot. [Edited by callinyouout on 1-20-03 8:14A]
  13. ECS in first place "until proven otherwise" ??? I beg to differ. Shouldn't Briarcrest be first "until proven otherwise"??? After all, they have won the state three of the past 4 years. Until somebody knocks them off, they still get to wear the crown. Think about it.
