Oakdale is needing a spring scrimmage for May 18th. This is on a Thursday night and this is the only night available. We would be willing to travel if needed. We are a 1A school in Morgan County. If you are interested please call 865-369-3885 and ask for Coach Childers.

By looking at the stats that came out in today's paper, I will put my vote for defensive MVP to Anthony Coffman who has the most tackles in Morgan County and we have already had our off week. He had over 200 yards rushing agianst Temple one week then had 17 tackles against Coalfield the next. He's a name I have to throw into the hat.

Brian, I did find out yesterday that Temple plays their games at Red Bank Middle School but the name of their field I do not know.

What kind of offense and defense is Jellico running this year?

I was wondering what type of offense and defense Jellico would be running this year. Is it the same as last year or has changes been made?

Oakdale High School is looking for a fall scrimmage on August 8th, 9th, or 11th. If it is on the 9th, I would ask to play at your place because I do not know if I could get a bus due to that being the first day of school. If it is on the 8th or 11th it could be either place. We have scheduled a spring scrimmage with Temple for May 17th around 5:00 pm. This is on a Tuesday due to Oadkale's kindergarten and senior activities scheduled for Thursday and Friday night. Hope to see everyone come out and support the team as they did so well last season.

I am looking for a school that would be willing to scrimmage Oakdale School in Morgan County on May 17th which is a Tuesday or on May 19th which is a Thursday. I am looking for a team that we can compete with. Most of my players are playing baseball so I will only have them for a few days after the district tournament. If you wish to possibly schedule a scrimmage please call Oakdale School at 423-369-3885 and ask for Coach Childers. The best time to call is from 12:30 to 2:00. Please do not call before lunch this week (18th-22nd) because I have to give TCAPS in the mornings. Also feel free to reply to this post as well.

I wish to make a comment concerning the "Free Blocking Zone." People at Oakdale was wanting to know what the rule was on cutting linebackers by offensive linemen on running plays when the linebacker was not blitzing but simply going to the football. Rule 2-17-1 says that the "rectangular area extending laterally 4 yards either side of the spot of the snap and 3 yards behind each line of scrimmage..." Does the word "behind" mean behind the offensive line or behind the defensive line or both. Can someone explain this to me?

Brian, I talked to Coach Satterfield and the Oakdale/Greenback game has been rescheduled for tomorrow night (Thursday) at 7:30 kickoff time.

I'm glad to see Big Money hasn't forgotten about me. Congrats on ya'lls win last Friday. This will be a good ballgame for people to see.

The game was always scheduled for the 30th from the beginning of the season, which is on Thursday of next week. It is at Oakdale starting at 7:30. It is senior night for our boys.

I will have to say the three seniors for Oakdale should have their names on the list. Charles Cofer and Rex Ruppe have been outstanding all year long. Cody Watson has been out with an injury for the last three games and all will be laying it all on the line these last three games. With everything that has gone on here at Oakdale this season the seniors have shown leadership and heart no matter what has happened.

We do not have cheerleaders this year. Even without them we have had great fan support and turnouts for the football games even with losing our starting quarterback for the year and having several injuries. Thanks for all the support our team has received from the parents and members of the community of Oakdale.

It is amazing how good things come out of bad situations. With the recent events at Oakdale, we have actually gained players and the football team is more pumped than ever before. Our roster is carring 26 players which is 9 more than last season. We are young with most of our players being in the ninth and tenth grade. We are having fun and for anyone that wants to see some good hard hitting football can come to Oakdale this Friday night at 7:30. Cosby comes to the mountain. We have done a lot of work to the field and the stands and I believe the fans will see a different Oakdale Eagle team than they have in the past.

As far as scoring goes, all I know is how Oakdale did against the other two. Jellico scored twice, once against the first team and once against the second team. Oakdale scored once against Jellico. Claibourne did not score aginst Oakdale and Oakdale did not score against Claibourne County.

I do not know is reporting on Coach T, but as the head coach for the Oakdale Eagles I will assure everyone who reads this that Oakdale is not dropping out of the Jellico scrimmage no matter what has or is occurring on the team. I will gladly take the 20 players that I have and will take them to any team that wants to play. We have the senior leadership we need and the attitude and heart that we need to compete in the region that we are in. As any coach knows, football is about a TEAM, 11 players playing as a unit. There is no I in team. No one player makes or breaks a team. Oakdale will leave at 2:30 today to travel to Jellico. We open up against Cosby on the 29th. Hope to see everyone there.

I would like to keep it within an hour and a half drive due to the crunch time of finals for my players. Also which day would you be interested in, the Thursday or the Friday? My reasoning for wanting Thursday night is that I have to preform a wedding on Saturday and rehersal is Friday night.
