  1. What All-State list is this? Is this your personal opinion? It seems a little early. The TSWA and TACA All-State lists are usually released at or after Thanksgiving.
  2. One FRA player has a "turf burn" the size of a fist on her knee. OUCH!
  3. It is true that punishment for scoring too many goals means running the hills. A double digit lead is the "official" rule for punishment but Coach Mac has definitely kept it tighter at around 6 this year. Once a forward has scored a second or third goal, even if they have only played 15 minutes, it's the bench for the rest of the half and then maybe 15 minutes in the second half playing defense. It is impossible to accumulate big numbers like some teams. Coach does his best not to humiliate the opposing team. Once we are 3 goals ahead, he starts subing. There has been games this season where if he kept his starting forwards and midfield in, the score would have gotten ridiculous, but once you've won, you've won. For this reason you can't look at our scores and realistically compare talent.
  4. CCS has a great soccer program that never gets overlooked by FRA. There is no doubt that they will reload and be back with a strong team next year. We heard that the player injured might have torn an ACL. I hope this was not the case.
  5. I agree totally. FRA and JPII are both excellent programs. I support FRA and am incredibly proud of their accomplishments. Yes it was painful to lose to JPII and it is a fact that we will never know the outcome of that match if everyone on FRA's bench had been healthy before and during the game. I suspect, however, that as good as FRA's defense is, they could not have stopped a very talented JPII from winning in the end. I have no bitterness toward JPII. After that game, FRA licked their wounds and the loss made them all the more determined not to let that happen again. Congratulations JPII and FRA on an AMAZING season! Middle Tennessee soccer was so proudly represented by both of these fine programs with TWO State Champions!!!
  6. Ok... this ribbon thing is getting old. The girls do NOT wear ribbons in their hair everyday. The fact of the matter is the FRA girls thought it would be funny to wear ribbons in their hair at State last year. They just decided to carry it over to this State Tournament because they won last year. Plus they also wore ribbons because they thought other teams would think they were "girly girls" and under estimate them and would be surprised to found out that they were actually good. So the ribbon thing was a joke the whole time. So get over it, seriously.
  7. No, No...I know the team I support understands that you take one game at a time. Every team that has made it to state has made it for a reason. Every team has their utmost respect. They, like their opponent, will give the best that they've got. But on any given day..... And should they go home, it will be because they were beaten by a team that worked just as hard as they did to get there.

    rankings

FRA is 5-2-1 not 5-3-1. Their only losses are to Oak Ridge 1-0 and Collierville 1-0.
  10. I was doing some housecleaning on my computer and deleted the cookies in internet options. Now I can't connect to the home page. I can get to Coacht only by going directly to boards through my computer's history. I can go anywhere on the site except "Home". Any idea on how to fix this? The error message says C:\www\coacht\app_functions.cfm:line 169 169 - #cookie coachtmember_id #. Thanks.
  11. Kate is continuing to progress as expected. She was to remain in the hospital for 2 weeks after surgery but is doing well enough that she may get to go home a week early to continue her recovery. Thanks to all for your prayers and well wishes.
  12. Kate was going up for the ball. Her body was stretched out, fully exposed when she was hit. Goalies should always pull a knee up when they go up for a ball so that they are protected as much as possible. If the "attacking" player comes into the goalie too hard, they will impact the goalies knee. It has to become "automatic". I agree that there has to be absolute and consistant consequences for a player who is overly aggressive from referees. This is a sad situation that never should have happened. Injuries are inevitable in soccer but this kind of blunt injury is something that no child should ever have to experience. Kate's should be out of surgery after midnight. Please keep Kate in your prayers as she begins a long recovery.
  13. Mtnman, you should have the picture and clip shortly.
  14. We tried but were unsuccessful, but I would be glad to e-mail the picture if you will provide your e-mail address. There is also a short clip of the goal being scored as well but I haven't been able to open it on my computor. Maybe your security system won't be as picky.
  15. The person that films games for FRA caught the 3rd goal and froze the image. It was sent to me. I am looking at it now and there is no question that the ball landed behind the line. If I can figure out how to post the image I will. The goal was valid.
  16. When CCS beat FRA in the Nashville tournament, the team had played 6 games in 6 days. Out of the 6 games, 4 were against ranked opponents and a very physical USN. Two starters were injured. Losing to CCS under the cirmumstances didn't surprise anyone. The third goal was valid in the final against CCS. It went the way it should have. Both teams are great teams. On Saturday, FRA was the better team. CA, you were FRA's 1st game of the season. Many changes were made since then resulting in the calibur of team that beat a very talented CCS at state. I don't think a 3-1 result would be the case if FRA played you today. Having said this, this years CA team was much improved from last year. You had great speed and pressured our team well. You also play with alot of heart and determination. This season is over. Next years teams will be different for better or worse with the seniors moving on. I think I will also move on. Good luck next year.
  17. CCS is an incredibly talented team. So is FRA. Both almost identical in overall skill and talent. It could have gone either way. The FRA players I talked to that were near the net, said it hit the crossbar deflecting it down and landing BEHIND THE LINE bouncing back up where the goalie caught it = Goal. Period. No "sketchy" to it. The ref. agreed. It was a great game. CCS is a great team with alot of class. Best of Luck next year.
  18. Thanks CAK, #2 is our Kristin Garman, one of the best soccer players to come out of Tennessee period. She has committed to FSU, Div. 1. FSU is ranked in the top ten in women's college soccer. CAK represented itself well. Your team and your fans were a class act. Good luck next year. FRANKLIN ROAD ACADEMY 2004 A/AA STATE CHAMPS!
  19. I truly understand why people from Chattanooga would want to keep the state tourny right there at home. But regardless of the condition of the fields of which I have seen much better in other cities (Memphis, Nashville), I'm sure that those teams from West Tennesse that have had to travel 6hrs. year after year would also like to have the tourny at Mike Rose right there at their home. It is the most wonderful thing for the teams to qualify to get to state so that isn't the point. The point is simply that the tourny site should rotate between the 4 major cities, Memphis, Nashville, Chattanooga and Knoxville as long as proper facilities can be obtained.
  20. FRA is the A/AA STATE CHAMPIONS. They avenge their only loss of the season by defeating CCS 3-2. Great Job Girls!!!
  21. Kristin Garman is a senior at FRA this season. She IS playing in TN. She has verbally committed to FSU, Div. 1 school. An accomplishment not seen often in TN in women's soccer. I haven't seen every player in TN, but I cannot imagine that anyone in this state could be better. She is the most dominant player I've ever seen in high school or travel ball in many years of watching soccer. She is all skill and finess (sp), no "brawl ball". Loving referred to as the "delete button" by the parent experts. Also a wonderful young lady.
