  1. SEASON STATS for Milan:

    RUSHING

    Jobronski Gilbert - 244 carries, 1588 yards, 31 TD

    Avery Williamson - 76 carries, 441 yards, 8 TD

    Tim Adkisson - 29 carries, 248 yards, 3 TD

    Zach Ryan - 46 carries, 238 yards, 2 TD

 JaRon Toney has more yards and TD'S by himself than ALL four of Milan's players!

Plus JaRon, shares carries with Tyson, Hambrick, Rockymore, and Koko................ :roflol:

You Guy's are in for a treat if you like to watch a power running team. Pound the ROCK! :roflol:

    toney has his 2300 yards

    tyson-over 900 yards

    hambrick-over 400 yards

    tallant-over 400 yds

    koko-over 300 yds

    rockymore-over 200 yds

So i think alcoa has spread the wealth too

  2. Oh ok, just thought that he had more. Know that he had 38 going in to this game. Thanks :thumb:

I could have sworn I saw the coacht scoreboard say he got his 41st

toney had 3 total tds but only two of them were rushing. the other is put down as a receiving td. So that puts him at 40 rushing tds for the season.

  3. Toney is a very good RB, but I could name 10-15 RB's across the state of TN that would have great

numbers running behind Alcoa's big O-line. What's everyones thoughts on that?

I would say watch the tape of the bell co, maryville, loudon, cak and other tapes and see how many tackles this kid breaks. Its flat out scary how hard he is to tackle. I can name plays off the top of my head against maryville and loudon where he was hit in the backfield for a sure 3 yard loss and ends up getting 10 yards on the run. Alcoas line is good but watch toney run and you cant help but be impressed.

  4. Ducks TD's werent all rushing. Around 4-6 of his tds were receiving but he should still be somewhere on the list. His name is not on it because it was not turned in by the alcoa head coach john reid and athletic director.

I may not be 100% correct, But didn't Alcoa's Dustin Lindsey had 40+ rushing TD's in 2005? :roflol: It does not show it in the TSSAA records, but I remember it being close to the record? :roflol:

    From TSSAA:

Most Rushing Touchdowns in a Season - Individual

    43 Ralph King Riverdale 2001

42 Eddie Moore South Pittsburg 1998

42 Marco Dailey Mt. Pleasant 2006

    39 Ralph King Riverdale 2000

38 Matt Peardon Boyd Buchanan 2004

36 Gerald Riggs Red Bank 2000

35 Leroy Thompson Austin East 1986

34 Tripp Tucker University School of Jackson 1997

34 Tripp Tucker University School of Jackson 1998

32 Sam Pickett South Pittsburg 1999

31 Gary Meadows Meigs County 1993

31 Michael Wilmore Smith County 2003

You are correct, Duck should be on this list somewhere... :roflolk:

I believe Dustin had 42 in 2005 but it could have 41.

  5. Could someone post all the results of Alcoa's freshmen games? I know that Maryville is killing everyone in freshmen football except Alcoa. Maryville beat Alcoa 20-6. Maryville freshmen has everything you need. A ton of outstanding linemen.A great quarterback and receivers. Good running backs. They have a stud defensive end and a stud linebacker.

I watched the Maryville Middle School team vs Alcoa. Maryville is awesome while Alcoa isn't quite as good as they have been.

Not sure about the scores but the alcoa freshman this year have won games against sequoyah, beardan, fulton and sevier co. They only have the one loss to maryville this season. There could have been more wins. Im not exactly sure how many games theyve played.

  6. With open district lines Alcoa should be able to compete with anyone in the country. Congrats for the honor, but there should be a separate classification for schools that can draw players from outside the school district boundries

so were back to that again huh. How about just saying good congrats and leave it at that without trying to throw the little dig in about open zone stuff. This is a great honor for those kids who have worked really hard.

  7. MLREB that's funny, TANK lived in a house right off Hunt Rd, in Alcoa. Also Maples was not a tuition student, his dad owned a piece of property in Maryville but lived in the county. The other kids moved to Maryville just so they could play football for Quarles. Is there anything wrong with that NO but they moved specifically to play football. I could go on and on about how many Maryville players that didn't grow up in Maryville city schools but I won't. You apparently have a problem with Alcoa getting there fair share of kids from the surrounding area. I just found it laughable that someone from Maryville would bring this up. Maryville has been doing this longer than anyone in this area. AKA my good friend Danny Spradlin(there was a few more in that era). I also thought you said Alcoa had 30 to 40 players from outside of Alcoa. I'm sorry but that's just not true. Duck has went to Alcoa since elementary. His whole family has played for Alcoa. What's your point? Yes Fiegler was a county player Lanxter and Summer's also did not grow up in Alcoa as well. MLREB It sound like your a little jealous they didn't come to the dark side. :thumb:

Ummm....comprehension....it's a good thing. Please point out WHERE I stated that it was wrong....unlawful....or that Maryville didn't have the same in the past? OK....the conversation is basically....let me move it down a level.....ok...another level....the sheer number of COA players that live OUTSIDE the city of COA that play on the football team. Last year the number of COA students that were tuition.....that is students that do NOT live in the city of COA was 31%. Now....do you really ....really .....really believe that the 31% number is not carried over to the football team????? Actually it's HIGHER. Check it...ok?

Now as for Maples you are correct...and he was NOT a tuition student. Douglass and Burnett BOTH lived in the CITY OF MARYVILLE. Spradlin....your very good friend...live with Mr. Sentell moving in when he was 12. Don lived in the CITY OF MARYVILLE. Lanxter and Sommers never lived in COA because.....drum roll....they lived in and were from KNOXVILLE. Duck....sure was a COA kid from the beginning with the exception of his senior year when he lived with his coach in......drum roll......BLOUNT COUNTY. As for Tank...certainly a tuition student at Marville since the 8th grade.

Like I said nothing wrong because there is absolutely NO rules broken. Just pointing out that COA has a significant number of "out of city" students and athletes that GREATLY benefit their program....just as Maryville has in the past.

Sommer didnt live in alcoa but lanxter lived and still does live in andover right off of louisville road

  8. Even by Alcoa standards you must say that there is no way that you could realistically expect the same from a first year starting QB and a relatively young offense......which is what Alcoa had last year for the most part outside of Sam Thompson.

When Alcoa first started the title run they had a QB named Joei Fiegler. I do not know where he is playing today but he had a good arm and was very accurate. He was fortunate enough to be able to throw the ball to guys like Brandon Warren & Kyrus Lanxter. Warren will likely be starting at split end for the Tennessee Vols this fall and Lanxter will likely be starting at split end for the Kentucky Wilcats this fall. The next quarterback was Randall Cobb. Cobb was the best freshman football player in the entire SEC last season at Kentucky. He was fortunate enough to have receivers like Brian Sommer. I do not know where Sommer is today (if he's anywhere) because he was kicked out of the school if I remember correctly. Cobb was a great athlete who could really run and improvise. Both Fiegler & Cobb had big time caliber players at RB in the backfield with them in Dustin Lindsay & Chris Shiverdecker. I do not know where either of them are playing today but I would be willing to bet that both of them are playing at the next level.

Last year Chase James was a first year starter at QB. This year's QB will be a first year starter as well. Alcoa's talent last year was exactly where the talent is going to be at on this year's offense. They have a physical offensive line that can really get after folks. They have 4-5 running backs who can all carry the load and produce numbers. They have a player that plays tight end for them who will be able to play anywhere he wants once this next year is completed.

If Alcoa gets really pass happy and starts throwing a bunch of INTs then you would likely get on here and question Rankin's philosophy. If Alcoa is "vanilla" and plays to their strengths and runs the football at will then their chances of success are greatly improved. Remember the following philosophy: "THROW IS FOR SHOW.........RUN IS FOR DOUGH".

    I agree 100%

  9. I will have to disagree with you, my friend.

Out of all of the names you mentioned, none had more than five catches last year.

When Maryville put the lock down on T Rob late and Thompson (0 catches in the game), there was NO third option.

Later in the season we had plenty of opportunity to develop some of the receivers, but did not, I guess for impressions sake, but we ran and ran and ran some more.

Daniel Robinson played 60 snaps against CAK last season in two games and caught no balls. That is just one case in point. BUT!!! I do not think that there is a better or deeper set of blockers than we have in our group of receivers!

Isom should be the #2 option behind T Rob, after that it will be wide open and should have some good competition amongst the kids come late summer.

If you ask coach rankin or any of the offensive coaches and they will both tell you that reason a lot of balls arent flying around to a bunch of other people is not because of their lack of ability but because of alcoas game plan. With chase james at qb alcoa did not have a wide open passing attack. Alcoa threw the ball usually anywhere from 8-12 times per game, so lets just say 10 passes per game. James usually completed about 6 or 7 of those. Alcoa runs a lot of boot and the main options on the boots are the tight end and fullback. So between tyson and tyler robinson, they will usually get about 5 of those. The main option at wr and one of the biggest playmakers on offense was sam thompson so he usually got around 2-3 catches per game. Coach rankins philosophy has always been to get the ball into the hands the best playmakers. He doesnt waste plays throwing it all over the field, which makes alcoas offense extremely efficient( completed over 65% of their passes for 3 straight years). Coach rankin knows who he wants to get the ball to and their coaches game plan to do that. And as for the point about thompson in the maryville game, the reason he had no catches is because he had one drop and also james under threw a post route to thompson that would have been a td had james put it out there. Also, isom did have over 5 catches last season. Its easy to see the kind of ability that kid has and he showed it last year with a couple great catches, with the most impressive being a diving catch for a td against loudon. At that point there just werent a lot of plays called for him. All spring he flashed the ability that had coaches from clemson and mtsu asking about.

And the whole daniel robinson situation is unfortunate for him because he plays the same position as tyler robinson as a pass catching tight end, which is basically a 3rd wr. He is a great blocker on the perimeter and while he does have good hands there just arent a lot of ball to go around for him to catch. But i will agree with you on the point about them have a deep group of really good blockers. you can tell that is something that they really work on and its important to them.

  10. Who is Alcoas Offensive Tackles?? I feel sorry for whoever it is when Big Ben Stiles from Mcminn Central gets ahold of that big panzy. He will make them feel like little kids after he gets done bullyin them!!

Im sure alcoas guys love to hear that. Theyre already good, I dont think you need to make them mad on top of that. Stuff like that is usually remembered. Im pretty sure the only people that should call out alcoa is maryville. By the way, Alcoas left tackle marcell walden is pretty good so i guess we will get to see who wins out with that one.

  11. What's everyone's thoughts on the starting lineup?

    QB-Tallent, RB-Toney, FB-Tyson, WR-Isom, WR-Warfield?, TE-Robinson, OL- Walden, Evans, Rankin, Marsh, and ?

    DE-Warren, Robinson, DT-Kerr, Burchfield, LB-N. Robinson, Herbert, Chapman?, ? CB-Toney, Hambrick, S-Tallent

No clue on a kicker or a punter

Isom will start at one wr and jett/barnes will split time at split end until one of them pulls ahead of the other. Both had pretty good springs and its kind of even right now. Warfield will go into the fall behind isom and daniel rockymore at flanker. His ability as a playmaker is unquestioned and for him it just depends on how much he can continue to learn so he can contribute at the varsity level.

Isom will probably be the punter with roberto castro doing most of the kicking.

  12. Everybody need not worry about the QB situation at Alcoa...There is a Junior there that probably would have taken the starting job if he didn't think that he was a basketball player during football season and dislocate his elbow. (lesson learned I hope) Austin Tallent will be better than Chase James as QB at Alcoa. Looks like some receivers are finally starting to emerge as that was a VERY weak position last year as we had no real third option.

I wouldnt go as far as calling alcoas wr a VERY weak position last season. Most high school teams dont have a great 3rd option at wr but for what alcoa tried to do last year(run the ball) they did a good job. Most of the pass plays actually went to thompson and robinson by design. Now that being said this is probably the deepest group of wrs they have had since the 05 team with lanxter, warren, sommer and that group. tyler robinson, steven isom, chaz barnes, jared jett, daniel robinson, daniel rockymore and others will give alcoa a bunch of options at wr and showed the ability to make plays in the spring. Isom is a great wr and Barnes, who is playing football for the first time has been a flat out stud in the spring. Hes about 6 ft 3, has great hands and had clemson and mtsu very impressed after watching him in practice.

  13. BC who all didn't play?

    I know J Toney didn't, who else??

Soccer and Track are still going on.

Toney didnt because of track like you mentioned, Nathaniel robinson-injury, Lajuan Warfield-sick, joe cooper-soccer are the main ones that didnt play. Toney and Robinson are both starters with toney possibly being alcoas best player on offense. Warfield is a soph wr who has had an outstanding spring and will be one of alcoas best playmakers. Cooper adds depth on both sides of the line(TE-DL).

  14. Down and distance with the 1's it was 1-1. Varsity overall with the 10 play deal 3-1 . . . two of Alcoa's TD's came after 4th down stops . . . but 10 plays keeps the ball moving!

Down and distance alcoa scored 3 times im pretty sure. Clintons first td came on the 9th play of the 10 play format. They didnt have any TD's during the 10 play deal. They used this format for the first two series and alcoa had a few good plays but didnt score. That being said, clinton had some good looking kids. That qb is a flat out player. He is so calm and throws a great ball. I really believe clinton has the chance to be a great team and has a great shot to win that region they are playing in this season.

  15. I was excited to see that Kentucky has offered Tyler Robinson a scholarship. What other schools do you thing

will offer him? Has Tennessee shown much interest so far?

Tennessee has shown a good amount of interest in tyler. He has also been getting tons of interest from alabama, georgia, LSU, coach chavis came up to the school not too long ago to see tyler. Clemson and MTSU also came to practice the other day for tyler. I believe UNC will also be stopping by very soon to talk to him. Memphis has shown a lot of interest in tyler but I think tyler doesnt have much interest in going to memphis. Offers from a few of these schools are expected to come within the next couple months.

  16. eh, alcoa is having a lot of people quit this year. hopkey, sharp, some freshman kid whos name i forgot,. oh darrell is hurt. i know there are more...i just cant think of them.

Alcoa has had a few quit with the only potential starter being hopkey. Sharp was probably going to end up being the 3rd quarterback behind austin tallant and tyler hartley and possibly even the kid ryan stoutt from florida. The others who quit were brenden rudd who was around 3rd on the depth chart at one wr spot and tre tate who was going to end up being the 5th tailback this season so there hadnt been any major losses. Darrell Warren has a sprained ankle and could end up being back on the field monday. Alcoa has received a huge pickup with a kid named chaz barnes coming out from the basketball team to play wr. Hes around 6 ft 3, very athletic and has been catching everything thrown his way in practice. Clemson and mtsu were at alcoas practice the other day to see tyler robinson, taharin tyson and warren but left very interested in barnes and another alcoa wr, 6 ft 3 junior steven isom who will be one of the better wrs alcoa has had the last few years.
