Where did the catcher for coffee co. go to college and is she playing ball. I thought she was just a senior this year and always enjoyed watching her play. I thought she was a top notch college prospect.

1.Coffee County,2Columbia,3.Tullahoma,4.Shelbyville,5. Lawrenceburg,6.Franklin County,7Lincoln County. I dont see anyone touching Coffee County this year. I think Columbia,Tullahoma, and Shelbyville will have a dog fight for the next three spots. Lincoln County is very young with very little experience,but could come on by tournamnet time. I see Lawrenceburg as maybe the cinderella team, and if im remembering correctly Franklin County was very young last year and maybe still a year away from big improvements.

The dates for the tournament is April 12,13,and 14. You need to let Troy know if you can play on Thursday the 12th.

Now i know there are many girls that fit in this category and please list yours but there are two that stand out in my mind. Those two are Chelsea Owens from Lincoln Co. and Jenna Swanson from Coffe Co. I have watched these two girls playing and in fierce competition but you could always tell from their smiles they were having fun,and thats what this game is suppose to be about is fun. Being from Lincoln Co. ive watched Owens since her freshman year and not once have i seen her on the field when i didnt think she was loving what shw was doing. For Jenna ive watched her since last year and even talked to her after the district finals last year., and very impressed with her personality and seemed to be a very mature young lady. Both of these girls seem to have bright futures for themselves and i hope both of them keep on smiling. Now the rest of you come on and give your names for these wonderful young ladies that we watch play weekly.

Lincoln Co. 2 Coffee Co. 1 in 10 innings. Chelsea Owens and Lincoln Co. defense did not allow a runner till the 10th inning. But let me say also Coffee Co. pitchers and defense also played great. It was a typical game between these two teams where neither team deserved to lose. Also we ask everyones prayers as Coach Troy Smiths wife Theresa, dad is very sick up in KNoxville. Troy has been traveling back and forth since this weekend to be with his wife and to be back with his team. Good luck to all the teams in district 8 as tournament time is near.

There will be no JV game .Varsity game will start at 7pm. Wear your red white and blue,its senior night so hope to see many falcon fans, I know there will be plenty of Coffee fans there also,but thats great. Still say its the greatest rivalry in Tennessee softball and for the most part its a fun rivalry.

The all district team is picked before the district tournamnet starts so the team is selected from season play, not tournament play.

The Lincoln County Softball Booster Club would like to thank all the teams and supporters for a very successful tournament.Congragulations to the teams that finished up with trophys but id like to say a BIg Congragulations to the ladies of Warren County for finishing in a tie for third in the tournament. Before this goes any further,please remember this is the oldest and best rivalry in middle Tennnessee softball and it has been that with both sides mostly showing fantastic sportsmanship toward each other. Please dont get on here and ruin something that these two schools have worked so hard for over the years. Perfect example is last year in coaches allstar game Lincoln Co. Whitney Horton and the girls from Coffee that played had a great time together and realized that after 4 yrs of stiff competition against each other they could be friends. Whitney still talks about this when Coffee gets brought up.Hey maybe some things have happened this year that shouldnt bUt dont blow the greatest rivalry in high school softball{my opinion} anywhere to be found. I still say id rather watch these two teams play each other than any other teams in Tennnessee.Good luck to both teams but Lincoln Co. GET UR DUN!

Lincoln Co. wins 14 to 0,But let me say i saw a young group of girls from Franklin Co. play hard and never gave up. I was impressed with their desire and im sure that has a lot to do with their coach keeping after them. Are the Franklin Co. girls as young as they look? If so i can see the potential for some good ballplayers coming on. Also does anyone know 8AAA records overall for district play?

We wont blow anyone out. We are not a team with alot of offense. We depend on pitching,defense, and scratch up a few runs to win.

Sorry i dont but your right,this district is up for grabs again this year, and then it starts all over again at district tournament time. There is not one team this year that has a sure win when they go on the field. Even though Coffee has not been beat they have had some scares already so i cant even put them up as a sure win against any team in district,and that goes for us at Lincoln Co. also,as you know Columbia already has beaten us in district play. In fact does anyone know the district records as of today?

runners on 1st and second, batter gets clean hit to right field,runner on second falls and then forced at third on throw from right field,i hope i am wrong on this but batter does not get credit for base hit,right or wrong

Columbia beat Lincoln Co. 3 to 2 in extra innings. This was a thrilling game to watch and we came out on the short end but the girls from both team played hard. I have to give the M.V.P. to Columbias outfield. We win the ballgame if Columbias outfield doesnt come up with two great catches,in fact Columbias right fielder made the greatest over the head catch ive ever seen in high school softball. Both pitchers did great job in cold weather. Lady Falcons keep up the good work. It will pay off at the end.
