  1. i think its sad that two teams have come down to talkin trash (which both sides stink at by the way) about a game that is in tha past. westmoreland won, end of story. macon county should never had been in the position to lose, so quit whining. just beat em next time, and leave it at that. let ur game do tha talkin people. grow up. ps, u don't rem macon county talkin trash in tha past when we were beating the westmoreland girls and boys by 20 or more every game do you. don't ruin our reputation of being a class school you guys. just play tha game.
  2. as much as i hate to say it, being as i am from macon county. but they boys just don't have the hieght to play with the good teams. look at our games with portland, they just had thier way inside because our tallest player comes up to thier post's armpits. lol, u just can't compensate for that. our guys play hard and don't quit but they aren't blessed with the size to compete with the big boys. i wish they were like the teams of @95-98 where we had some big boys that could play (and a couple that sat the bench). if coach brown had that team, the midstate would have to watch out! but unfortunately he doesn't, so he does the best with what he's got. which is good shooters and a motion offense. good luck to all the teams and go tigers!
  3. yeah, it was dereck anderson. he was one of the purest shooters i have ever seen. saw him drop 63 on lavergne(i think) one year in the macon county christmas tourny. he should have went to play somewhere but says he was young and stupid. he went to work at fleetwood and now works at the fish hatchery in celina. if he had it to do over again, he says he would have went somewhere and played. but hindsight is 20/20 u know:)
  4. i have heard stories of how nobody used to be able to touch jeff in basketball. unfortunatly i wasn't around to see him play, but i have played softball with and against him. i have seen him hit balls that would make ur mouth hang open. in excess of 400 ft, and for those who have played, u know how hard that is. u can tell he is an natural athlete, and his work ethic is unparalleled. on top of all that, he is a great guy. so just to agree with the others, believe what u hear about jeff arms.
  5. wow, i was a little suprised by the score of the lipscome-portland game. i couldn't make it but thought it would be much closer than it was. i knew lipscome was an excellent team an i have seen portland play on a few occasions (mostly whippin up on my macon county tigers) and thought they would give lipscome a better game. i would like to say though, as someone who has college basketball experiance, the brewer kid definately has alot of work to do if he expects to play college basketball! it is a totally different game, his jumping ability and hieght advantage over most high schoolers totally goes out the window once he makes the transition to college. i wish him luck and all the best, but he needs to hit the wieght room and shoot 1000's of jumpers in order to make an impact on whichever team he decides to sign with. the potential talent is similar to another portland star of a couple years back. if his brother jason rogan had been 6'7, u would be watchin him on sunday's. good luck to all the athletes and keep up the good work!
  6. Macon County has a good point and one of the quickest guards in the around in Heather Moore. Thier inside game is solid with good size (not especially tall, but fudamental). But they must keep thier starters in the game in order to stay with quality teams. There are only a couple of girls on the bench that can come in and contribute. They must find a scorer to be mentioned with the elite teams in the region. A little luck and some good basketball will get them through to the regions but they have to play mistake free basketball to go any farther. They are another solid team from Macon County like it has been for years, but that is about it. Sorry Tigerette fans, i am an alumni and supporter but i speak the truth.................ps, mike prock is a cancer to the school system!
