  1. what game have you been watching? he's pretty good but 14 15 a game that's a little high i would say.it's hard to really tell in real time it would be a guess. the other lbs are pretty good also and the front is pretty good.22,18 force things in pretty good also.only consern is 3rd down big play situation.

It looks as though someone is "PADDING THE STATS".I personally think the other three LB's are just as good as Estep. A good LB is measured by tackles for losses, not tackles 8 to 10 yds down field. Estep may be a little overated.
  2. I think the kids are prolly fine from the Hampton game, the frustration there wasnt from coming away with a "L", but the way it transpired, alot of people thought that the game plan didnt allow us a chance to be competitive ..

its just hard to get a handle on our team right now, we dont have any kind of identity or consistincy.. for example through our first 4 games, we started 3 different running backs (and not because of injury, but coaches decision) our 5th game we didnt even use a running back.. we dont appear to be getting better as the season progresses .. so far we beat 3 teams we should have beaten and looked bad to 2 teams when we were the underdog .. here comes another game where we are the underdog..

the coaches dont seem to make adjustments well, after hampton realized we would never run it, they were either blitzing or dropping 8 to cover.. we kept doing the same thing anyway.. the cosby game should be a good game matchup wise, if we can scheme right for them .. im sure they will be well prepared for anything we try tho..

  3. CUCRY just how well did the host team do ? Will Elizabethton be back in ? I think they are 2A now and I don't think they will be very good . So explain how a 2 and 1 showing from Unaka was not good enough for a return to the ARBY'S ? PLEASE!!!

  4. To Krich,- there is no need to take back any statements. The crutch comment was not aimed at any football player, or the team for that matter. It is a fact that low expectations breed low success. Constantly harping on how everybody else is responsible for their lack of success is a great disservice to those young men because it only makes it acceptable for them to continue to fail. And that's the truth. If you are one of those young men reading this, rise above it and turn the corner. If you are an appeaser and an excuse maker, realize the harm that you may be doing.

Now, Creekerfan,- you are still blaming basketball players for football's lack of success. I would like to know,- in the history of the football program at Unaka, have the basketball "players" always been responsible for their lack of success? Do all the baseball players play football? Do all the baseball players play basketball? Do all the football players play basketball? My forty years of observation of all the sports programs should give me a little insight into this. I can only conclude one thing: you get out what you put in. So, in with excuses, out with excuses. And that's the truth.

  5. Creekerfan,

I would have to agree with you that the comment made by Trout was uncalled for maybe, and unspoken by many, but wondered by all. As far as the reference to the gym goes, does this mean that this whole, repetitive can of worms is going to be opened again? Does this mean that the gym rats are not only blamed for losses but now held responsible for their winning? Just wondering. The only thing that you accomplish with these comments is to lock the football program in to a losing tradition by providing them with a crutch. And that's the truth.

  6. Well it is truly a shame that sprortswriter took heat for the article that he wrote because it took a lot of nerve and needed to be said. Hats off to him. And I will also say good post to acdcfan.

Now I am just wondering where the rest of Carter County has been. Tdog, Deputydog, Rolltide, HVwarrior, Etown12, and all the others. Don't you all have any opinions on this? We'll be waiting.

  7. Don't worry about what the boys do before the game. They'll take care of all that. Best of luck to the boys and girls. But remember, they have two separate games for a reason. The girls tend to their business, and then the boys have to take care of theirs. Don't put the burden of fan support on the kids.

  8. Thou shalt not lie, "Mrs. Big Guy". In a previous post you wrote:

. Like my name implies, I'm justwatchin and that's it. Sounds like you have just a tiny bit of anomosity toward Rustys dad. Did you guys butt heads when he coached or what? Yeah, he is a little opinionated but that's ok too. I do have a child that plays, but it isn't Rusty.

So now you change that. If Tdog, is Tim, and you're Tdog's wife, doesn't that make you Rusty's mother???

  9. I have attended ALL the Unaka games, and it's very evident that the players cannot handle coaching from the stands. And we all know who this is, "Big Guy". If you are such an honorable coach, "Big Guy", were you not replaced in your last real coaching job? And for the record, I don't care how many administrators, school board members, authority figures, etc. that you know and claim to run to. Tell 'em all,- I promise you I could care less.

And as for your coaching on the net, there is ONE player who takes it to heart and you better watch it cause it could hit very, very, very close to home, "Big Guy", because it is hurting his game drastically. And when his game hurts the coaching staff seems to recognize it rather quickly and remove him from said game.

Writing styles are like fingerprints,- there's no mistaking them.......... Justwatchin, Coachtdog, raven1, hotcorner, tennreferee, and the family of all these as well ("Mrs. Big Guy").....

And for all you other posters on the Unaka threads, PLEASE feel free to add your comments. If bashing is not wanted, then bashing should not be given.

And by the way, players are not the only ones with parents in the stands. They also have wives and children there, too. Mind your tongues.

Back to you, "Big Guy", you can be exposed,- not just to the internet world of Coacht.com, but to the entire Ranger.com community that is. And I am just the one to do it. I will..............be seeing you.........at the games......and that is the Last Word.
