  1. im sorry but i agree with rabbit on at least the 171 picks. marable is tough but i dont thik he could take jones. i watched his match in the state finals(i was sitting right by the mat) and he did not impress me very much at all. actually he should have lost that match and Luttrell should have one. he stalled pretty much the whole match and than into overtime he looks at his coach and calls a time out and than falls to his side. looked like he should have one a Oscar for that performance. than in double overtime gets out from bottom like a bat out of hades. i wont take away from his abilities but i dont think he would beat jones. as for 103 that would be a match i would love to see. i think it would be very close. later doug
  2. at 160 and 171. both swafford 171 is from red bank and i think levitt is from red bank too.
  3. hey silent i wrestled from 96-99.
  4. first off this is a wrestling site. not a personal views site. it thats what you want please email me and i can give you some sites in which you can right on subjects like this. i want to see stuff about wrestling not about what kind of person Mr. Pala is. if you want to know something really about it ask the man. hes very nice and would be more than happy to tell you about it. instead of saying well my dad said this and that on what a friend of a freidn told him. i know pala very well and you can ask him yourself. also about the flag i need a picture of it as some of you probably dont even know what flag it is. than look up exactly what that flag means. almost every flag in existence including the great ole red, white and blue is used by some racist or hate group. does that mean that we dont need to be flying the stars and stripes because a group thinks that america is better than any other country and with hatred we are better able to protect those rights that are represented by that very flag. just because we are americans and afgans are not. the flag pala has was used BEFORE world war 1 came along. why not look at the meaning of the flag before that time and not what it means now. same example with the confederate flag. many people lost loved ones fighting for that very flag and today is a symbol of the lives that their ancestors lived. its not for hate or violence against a person of color but yet thats what most people see it as. yes that flag flew under the banner of slavery that was much more about economics than racism in itself. but today is a sign of pride for those lives that were lost. ask pala yourself if he does mean it to be to make neighbors mad than it might be a little childish but unless YOU know the truth than you have nothing to say about what hes doing.if you have any comments feel free to email me just ask im a a history student maybe i can answer some questions you might have. later
  5. yeah it is pretty true about the injury thing with paul. i also wrestled for soddy and we were never out of shape except when i had to sit out with bronchitis one year. paul hurt his ankle and was out of practice for a while. plus also alot ofhis matches do not last that long either so he doesnt wrestle for a full six minutes. i help out sometimes up there and coach hasnt really taken it any easier it is just that paul is hurt so often(no offense paul) later
  6. i wrestled back in 1999 for soddy daisy. we went on to win 3rd that year behind bradley and clarksville(won on tiebreaker against us). also i was not a great wrestler either. i was not that bad either. i got beat in the consolation quater's by the guy that won 3rd and in the second round by the guy who finished 4th. in which i was beating him when i got thrown with 8 seconds to go. i made a mistake. so i was not great but not to bad either placing behind jimmy hoover, josh ward, seth mcinteer, david penrod, ed clay and the guy for sixth john ross got disqualified. so there you have me. not to bad for a guy that weighed 152 wrestling up that much. later
  7. sorry michael but i graduated in 99. and yes i did wrestle 171 so i do know some very good 171 wrestlers. one such was rusty, josh ward, and some others. but i did watch your match and yes your good nobody says any different but i have also watched quinn and i would really give him the edge. also bryant is alot better than he was last year(no offense to you bryant) but you have a ways to go to be like your brother. of course i also remember wrestling him myself in the southern open and after that was when he took off.
  8. i do think that middle and southeast tennessee team wise has a leg up on the competition. how long has it been since a west tennessee team has won the duals? dI or dII? or how close have they came to winning the state individual tournament any time lately. most of the time they finish close to 6 or 7 out of 8 or something like that. can somebody refresh my memory about a time lately they have one either one. not trying to offend yes they have some great individuals but team wise are just not that great. later
  9. i hate to start in on this argument and not been in it since the beginning. but im going to anyways. first off, i hate bradley with a passion but i do have respect for them and their wrestlers. Quinn in my opinion is one of if not the BEST in the state right now in any weight. i watched michael wrestle at mccallie and he was not that impressive. sorry if i offend you but your not the caliber that quinn is. he is if i dont mistake also a junior. hes a defending state champ and also a runnerup the year before that to kevin ward. i dont think you would even be more than 3 to 4 points close. i would love to see that match but it would never happen. later
  10. if paul can stay healthy this year for the rest of the year than he will be alright. he gets hurt to often and that puts him out of practice which than hurts his conditioning. also alot of his matches do not go for the whole six minutes so hes not really pushed to condition himself.just like what happened to robby massengale in 1999. he has to have better work ethic. but he is a tough wrestler and would have placed last year if not for a broken ankle. good luck paul later doug
  11. i would pick for my 105 pounder a james jabely from notre dame. he was a 3 time state championship and a friend. later doug
  12. hey coc who are you anyways? are you a wrestler for soddy or what. because if not at least he does have a ring. do you? those guys that wrestle jv are just as important as those that do not. they make the varsity better and push them to keep their position in varsity. also i dont know if it is mental or not but caleb is the better wrestler between the two. he should beat turner as should hawk. but its always tough wrestling your own guys. later doug [Edited by cobrakid8 on 1-24-03 7:38P]
