I had the opportunity to see MJCA again tonight and I continue to be impressed by their effort. They played a very good (10-1 before tonight) Whitwell team and went toe-to-toe with them for 32 minutes. What really caught my eye was how they handled the pressure in what was an extremely physical game. They were able to break the press without much trouble and they finished on the other end. Keep working hard, the results are already being seen!!

Any thoughts on the MJCA @ Watertown match-up Friday? MJCA should have beaten Trousdale Co. last week and Watertown only beat Trousdale by 7. Will this be closer than most think? MJCA has improved tremendously from last year. Any thoughts?

I have to agree with worden55. This is definately NOT the same program as in the past. I have seen MJCA play in the past and have also seen them twice this year. You can already tell a difference and the season has just begun. This team will continue to get better under Coach Palmer who is a great teacher not only of the physical side of the game but probably more importantly the mental aspects of the game.

The Lady Saints were impressive in their opener against a very good MTCS team. They played hard and were in the game for 4 qtrs. This is a HUGE turnaround for that program. Coach Palmer had them ready to play and they fought for 32 minutes. Their two leading scorers were freshmen. Any thoughts on the future of the program?

Westmoreland, G'ville, Watertown, Trousdale, Friendship, Mt. Juliet Christian, Merrol Hyde. I think MJCA is the sleeper in this district. They've got a new coach that comes from a great program (Oakland). They could surprise a few people. They should be fun to watch this year.

I agree with Oakland Grad. Coach Palmer is an extremely hard working coach who stresses fundamentals and effort. He will have his team prepared and they will play with a lot of intensity. Don't know much about the MJCA program, but if they buy in to what Coach P is gonna bring to the program they will be competitive.
