  1. the video is not representative of how the game played out, but hey it is a mckenzie website. Mckenzie Offense played better D than the mckenzie D.
  2. Either PC wins solid (2tds or so), no stupid turnovers, ect. If LC executes well they win or lose in a squeaker. Perry Co. hasn't seen anybody with a style like Lake Co. MP would have matched up well with LC because of the athletic D-line and 3 atheletic backs on offense w/O-line. Perry co. does not match up as well b/c Lake Co. has atheletes all over the periphery and they play like wild men in the open. Perry Co. is more controlled pass game. Should be an interesting game. In a world like this, its not prudent to be dogmatic about a fb game. However, LC wins in an upset by the skin of their teeth. Both teams come out respecting each other. (maybe not the fans)
  3. McKenzie with a solid win, maybe 2 tds. No disrespect to Riverside. Anything can happen. My opinion MP was a matchup problem for them because of specific personnel(namely the MP D-line and QB(harlan), plus Webster is a playmaker hb pass). Now that they are over that hurdle, they could win the whole thing. Riverside probably would have beat MP. Its not that MP was so great. It's matchups. McKenzie is well coached, disciplined, esp. on defense. Speed at multiple positions and good coaching/scheme would beat them.
  4. ah you know its bologna. They can lose. They might win, but I think it'll be close myself. I didn't think they were any better than MP. MP just had a suspect secondary, but excellent front four. green Lbs(they got better), and a 6-4 180lb soph. QB coming off a game suspension. The matchup wasn't good. LC matches up better. That QB will surprise you though. He is the key. He's like a little 1A Manning. If any team can give PC trouble you would think it would be Lake Co. b/c they usually have a good defensive backfield
  5. That's a good point. The weather could change things. It would make it harder for LC w/o the weather being right.
  6. Westview beat Milan. McKenzie beat Westview. It's about matchups though. McKenzie wouldn't match up well with Milan. I knew MP would match up well with McKenaie. I think Lake. Co. will match up pretty with perry Co. Both teams are quick and scrappy. Quick punchers, a little unorthodox.
  7. Maybe so, but it won't be as easy as Bruceton. Its all about matchups. Lake Co. traditionally has speedy backs and recievers. This will be a shootout, just like the Wayne Co game. That MP team was young. You're lucky you didn't play them later. Fortunate, PC didn't play McKenzie(yet). The MP defense improved. The MP QB is losing his green, so is the RB, both sophs. I'll be surprised if Lake Co. doesn't put up a good fight. Should be a good test for the Vikings.
  8. Bigster, (long time no argue) You were right about Jackson C team in 07state champs Milan manhandled Huntingdon. Anyway..... Lake County is capable of winning the game. PC is good though. Ask McKenzie fans/players if the MP lineman aren't physical? That McKenzie QB caught a suplex(the team -22yds rushing 1st half). PC has played 4 or 5 good teams. It should be an interesting game. PC is the favorite, but Lake Co. is capable of winning. Definately. I tried to tell McKenzie fans that MP was capable. When MP had the ball and 16-15 lead with 2 min remaining. Only then, McKenzie recieved a baptism by fire. Its the only way really. I will state it plainly thrice. PC fans, Lake Co. is capable of winning.
  9. 18-16. Not exactly a big win. McKenzie offense had the ball forever(they played ball control bigtime). I bet there were 12 3rd and 4th down conversions(ridiculous). MP only had the ball like 5 or 6 times the whole game. MP had a 60 yard drive that stalled at the Mckenzie 19 at the start of the third. It was a close hard fought game. Back and forth. McKenzie kicked a 23 yard? field goal to win with 17 seconds left. MP muffed a punt to set it up. Special teams turned out to be the difference. MP turned it over in the red zone with a pick early in the game. I think each team had 1 turnover a apiece. Tough loss. I know how you feel. Been there. McKenzie fans were awfully cocky before the game. Some MP fans were just obnoxious. I had a feeling it would be close like this. I knew MP had the capability, but they came up just short.
  10. The tigers come through in the clutch.
  11. Really? McKenzie has faced far more talented, superior QBs I'm sure. He will not even get a sniff at the endzone this game, will he? And those little scat backs are a joke right? what's the score 48-0 McKenzie. Right? Funny thing is that if MP turns the ball over, then it really could be pretty bad, but they could win too. Life really is that complicated. Its kind of like gene expression and disease. Messy stuff. Biology is rarely pristine and neat. It can be miserable to study at times, but reveals intense beauty as well. It's messy and exquisitely complicated. Football games take on a life of their own. MP is good enough to win, but Mckenzie is the favorite. That's my best generalization.
  12. Yeah, that was a silly post on his part. 1/2 those teams would give MP trouble. Camden and Westview definately. Peabody and Humboldt as well. I think they are better than Dresden. I think McKenzie are a little off too though. Not as much as some MP fans though. haha. The truth often hurts. I still think MP can win though.
  13. True. Just me. *sigh* Good luck to the tigers this Friday. MP lineman need to step it up and play with heart. Drew Hayes was the Freshman McKenzie QB in that Lewis Co.-McKenzie classic 12-0 vs. 12-0. Somebody from Mckenzie probably remembers it.
  14. 8 and a half years ago. I couldn't figure our team out. It was an anomaly. We beat a Wayne County team on homecoming 36-0, they were 4-0 at the time. TSSAA has got the score wrong in the history books 29-0. That same Wayne county team (7-3) lost 14-7 to CPA (the eventual state champs) in the first round of the playoffs. We had freaks on that team. Fitzgerald(DE mentioned earlier), Tycazk (possesses unnatural type of strength playing UT chatt now at now at 24 after his military service. Freakish athletes. It was so weird that we went 3-1 were up on a Cascade team 8-0 at halftime, then lost 22-8, the picked up shelbyville back that rushed for 318 yards against a good CA team, but he barely got 100 on us. He had nothing at halftime, but defense wore down because our offense was dysfunctional. We didn't have the right people on the line. Then 4-2 after the Wayne county game. Sowell was game breaker speedster and two bruising 210, 200lbs tailback montez whitherspoon and ellis daily (played for lewis County later). You guys beat that lewis county team barely at the end of game in 04, 13-7 was the score. That QB threw a touchdown at the last minute. You guys had a great QB Hayes! That was his name. My cousin Jimbo Dobson made all state for Lewis County a year later. McKenzie beat lewis county 13-7 that year in the quaterfinals at the last minute.
  15. That's the question. Can the MP lineman step it up? Their legs should be toast by the end of game if they give the right kind of effort. I remember one game where I had 15 tackles in a 6-5. I was cramping, stetching calfs between plays, every play in the rain. It was beautiful man. I gave everything I had. Everything! I had nothing left to give and we lost in overtime on fourth down on the 1 yard line. They ran to other side. Our D-end was athletic as they come and strong as an ox 6-2 210lbs with a 40 inch vertical, but raw, inexperienced. He shot down inside like a pass rush and the back popped it outside. That was for the playoffs.
  16. You're right. It is gonna be a big step up for them. However in reality, they should have only lost one game this year and that was Perry Co.(pass D exploited) Even then, Harlan had been out for a week(Cascade), so it threw the offensive rhythm off.they might could have scored 50 with PC. Some people said PC was just plain better. i don't think so. They were clearly a more talented team than Wayne Co.(retort all you want WC fans) Those turnovers just killed them and special teams. They practically handed the game to Wayne Co. and WC was good enough to take it with some big plays. This team has real potential though. It will be interesting to see how that O-line and the sophomore QB hold up to the pressure(the noise, hoopula). We'll see if he can take a vicious hit and pop back up and keep running the offense. Does Princeton have the mental toughness?the poise? We'll see if MP wants to take it to another level in terms of poise. I think if you rolled him out and gave him run pass option more that would keep The McKenzie D on their heels. I'm not sure if the mcKenzie coaches will blitz from all angles or not. Try to rattle the QB. Marco was more seasoned than Harlan, and he ran anyway(single wing old school), which was pretty genius on the part of coach Smith. I'm sure coach Smith will feel the game out and adapt. MP has many weapons that could hurt Mckenzie. Webster could hurt them running or recieving. He is probably the most shifty. Houston is too, but Webster(soph.) can find seams like daily. He has that frenetic lateral movement. They have plenty of recievers who can run. English? that LB looked pretty good. Ronald is a beast on that D-line. Talk about BIG-BOY. McKenzie might double him and somebody else needs to step up. Unless he shreds it! then you wasted 2 blockers! I wonder will it be another 42-14 whipping though like Jackson Christian or a great game 35-32 like the last time in McKenzie. MP might need another year to mature. They lose some beef(o-linemen) though from what I heard on the radio. The offense is on the brink. The defense is not far off either. The LBs and ends just need to play a little better. The DEs need to stay at home and more aggressively read the play on the run D. Fight off the blocker if its run and rush if its pass. The Lbs the same thing. Read the play, spy the QB(especially if he runs), Attack the blockers, shed them, and make the play. The DEs are talented but must play harder. If you can't get to the runner in the gap, knock the blocker into the runner and mess up the play. I did it all the time. The DTs are playing good. That D needs a QB. Someone who studies film extensively this week. The pass defense has been the big weakness, but the rush could make up for it. If the execution/mechanics were a little better with the play calling, the offense could be fine-tuned machine. Its not that far off. The short passing game was sloppy. Need some good slants, shield that DB, if they crowd, make it a Z. Coach Smith will be a chameleon this week. He knows MP can win this game with the right chemistry. He knows it!
  17. Bologna. They were all born with brains. They know they will be playing a decisively better team all the way around. As for the game, I thought it was more like a scrum in rugby at times with MP on defense. There weren't many organized cheers. Not every fan likes to yell incoherently. McKenzie fans almost wet their pants the last time MP came to town. McKenzie is lucky MD cramped up or MP would been in the title game(and would've played SP better on the turf(daily on turf in 07?). McKenzie hung on by a thread. MP lacks maturity at some skill positions. If they don't turn the ball over, it could be very interesting. They must get to the QB on defense. This MP team is very similar to that team in 07 in terms of potential on Offense and Defense, except they have 3 explosive backs and a passing game. I believe the defense is considerably better than 3 years ago. MP has the material to pull off the upset with some a good prep. week, luck, and good karma. It is uphill though. It will take maturity and real grit(especially from the hogs). MP must avoid turnovers and Princeton will need to exhibit smooth mechanics and ball security. The offense may have to eat some bad plays, but limit turnovers and punt the ball. Good luck to the tigers and coach Smith! McKenzie is good, but don't be intimidated. Do not get down, give up, or let up until the final whistle. Play with controlled passion, a brassy confidence. Never be cocky, but always be confident. Give them your best shot!
  18. I can tell you that MP was not the 9th best team in 1A. They were one of the top 3. If Mckenzie and MP played 10 times it would be 5-5. MP lead most of the game. Daily was gassed from 42 carries the week before and started cramping and McKenzie was safe. /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />
  19. Just my opinion. You guys have a terrific coaching staff. It obvious they work really hard. MP does too, I just wish they would have mixed it up more.
  20. On the contrary, I care. Gerry Bertier is a smart guy. He knows what he's talking about. MP clearly had more talent than McKenzie. They were bigger, and they had more atheletes. Tell me, when you have 6-5 230lb tight end with the athleticism and speed of Preston Gilbreath. How can you not get him the ball? Also, you've got McClenic w/4.6, 4.7 speed who can run and catch in the flat. You have good wideouts in Corlew, Houston, Stoops, heck Bubba Clifton could have caught passes out of backfield or screens, curls, hooks, slants. I didn't see one slant pass all night or even a wide reciever screen. McKenzie was more discipline though and had a fine quaterback. They stayed at home on defense and tackled better. Only a superhuman effort by Daily kept them in the game. Coach Smith will never have another back like Daily, but he should found ways to help him. Don't get me wrong, the style he used was unique with the single wing and it evolved over the coarse of two years to what it was this past Friday. It was just a bone crushing offense. It was fun to watch. But b/c of MPs lack of balance, nobody is gonna get to see Marco Dailey play in the boro on the turf!, which would be more fun that watching Mckenzie (no disrespect, they are a very fine football team). It's sad. very sad.
  21. Well Jordan had about 60 yards against McKenzie and Marco had about 300 and 3tds rushing and about 80 yard td in the air.
  22. It doesn't always happen. I hope it does here though. Good luck to both squads.
  23. The cramps and the MP scheme, unique, but not faultless, helped McKenzie over the hump. Congrats. Butchie. MP would have been more fun to watch with #12 running on that turf, but McKenzie has great QB and some good, atheletic wideouts, and a great coaching staff. Very disciplined team.
  24. Marco is best player in 1A hands down. I talked to two guys from Huntingdon and they said he was one of the best, if not the best that they had ever seen. Both teams played hard and their were some vicious licks. I saw Carr, and he runs that offense like a general, but Marco runs with passion. The McKenzie defense just wore him down. They're lucky he cramped and they might be finished for the season. A more consistent short passing game might have tipped the scales and saved some legs.
  25. Mt. Pleasant can go to the "Big Show", if they bring it tonight!
